Another great program Beth. After I was dismissed from the watchtower corporation. I worked with a witness coworker. It turned out to be a blessing. Let me explain. He was newly baptized, and was my partner on rescue #720. We just finished a standby for a structure fire. During the standby, he asked me if I heard what happened to brother Gonzales. The man he was referring to was an elder that set my watchtower execution in motion. I said no. He then informs me that he was df'ed for having an affair with a woman. Why did I find this interesting? I was only excommunicated 3 weeks before he told me this. So the elder that took the lead in executing me. Was having an affair while he judged me. Still grateful for being out. I just wish I would of never gave (X3) suits the opportunity, and power to have me in a committee. If I could go back in time. When they made contact with me. I would of said "go f#ck yourselves". I am finding your videos so healing and highly therapeutic Beth. Stay gold!! 🙋

You reminded me of the time I was appointed as a Ministerial Servant and was informed of my appointment by the CO and the Service Overseer. The following weekend I attended the MS school with the Service Overseer and 4 days later he was disfellowshipped for having an affair ! At the time, it never occurred to me that somehow I believed that I was appointed by Holy Spirit working through at least one guy who was boning another man's wife!

A couple of comments. I had one JW co-worker that I remember. I may have had others but they kept it to themselves. The one that I knew was extremely pleasant. I look back and I do not remember any phoniness about him. He was a genuine nice guy. Always smiling. I know for sure he was at least second generation. We had discussions and since this was back in the 80s we were still able to discuss our differences without getting offended or angry. Things have changed. Catholics are similar in that some might go to church for Christmas and Easter only or they don't go at all but they believe the RCC is the original and only true church much like JWs and their denomination.

Hi 👋 I have a brother who is a Jehovah Witness. He wasnt always, but he has changed alot since becoming one. He said to me one day that he doesn't force his religion on anyone . Well one day he gave me a lift in his car home. Before I was about to get out of the car he said read this and handed me some literature. I accepted it without looking at it. Then I got out of the car and looked at what he had handed me . He had driven off. It was a Watchtower piece of their JW literature. What a cheek I thought. Here he was saying I don't force anything on anyone.

Satan is out to deceive anyone he can to turn them away from Christ Jesus! The ones who make these videos get paid for them if you watch them to the very end. Jesus said he was no part of the world, so we shouldn’t be either as he’ll be coming soon to judge us! I had a JW coworker many years ago. She and I became very close (or so I thought). I really liked being around her..we took all our breaks together and had lunch together everyday. I’m a Christian so I was probably trying to “convert” her as much as she was trying to “convert” me😂 But it was all very friendly and seemingly harmless. Well one day I showed up to work and she would not talk to me or hardly even look at me. I was shocked and confused and very hurt. I thought we were friends. It really broke my heart to know that it was all fake to her. Are JWs taught to disassociate (not sure if that is the right word) with a “worldly” person after a certain amount of time of they haven’t converted?

I was the JW coworker back in 2020. Thankfully I woke up in 2021 and am POMO now (I faded). I never bothered preaching to coworkers except the religious one who tried preaching at me. It always felt awkward since we were simultaneously trying to convert each other. Now that I am agnostic I had a an easier working relationship with all my coworkers, the tension of feeling a duty to preach is totally gone and I know the armageddon threat is a bad joke by deluded old guys who are making it up as they go.

The POMI is an interesting beast. It's the one who engages me online most commonly. The POMI justifies himself with the idea that while he is disfellowshipped or faded, he has no need to behave with mildness or self control. He finds himself being able to be aggressive and abusive to JW critics online all the while knowing that, while he's being shunned, no one is going to dob him in to the Elders. He gets to fight for the Witnesses as an outsider in a way that he never could while being PIMI.

Hi Beth, I am not a Jehovah’s Witness, but I have been confronted by a Jehovah’s Witness while getting my nails done. She went as far as to say I was doing the devil’s work by respecting other people’s beliefs. What is the best approach when they are trying to convert you in a place where you are trying to relax? Especially if they are love bombing or guilt tripping you?

I'm a happy atheist - my view is that one does not need to embrace another Christian denomination (just because one escaped one form of brain washing) - one swapped for another is religious PTSD management - understandable but not freedom from indoctrination. I became atheist when I asked a nonbeliever, "...but what happens when you diev? ", he answered, "When you die you decompose". It struck me as evident when said out loud - doesn't mean the chosen Christ narrative isn't beautiful (it is) but it does mean stop believing in Santa Claus.

I have to write this to give my view about certain things. I live in a development in Fishkill NY and am surrounded by JWs. There's even JW assisted living facilities near me. They don't come knocking on doors, (prearranged rule) and i run into them constantly while walking the dogs. Most are friendly, very few are less friendly but none are troublesome. Maybe because i am sure of who i am. There’s quite a few nice looking women too but to be honest, they don't exactly ooze sexuality. 🙄 I am always nice to them and a couple even chatted, with me full aware of recruiting me. I harbor no ill will because i am aware most of us thrive for a sense of belonging. When you said they feel the outside world is dangerous, they do have a point there. But my take is, considering an alternative of having families with punk kids, their friends, noisy neighbors, and everything else that possible 'neighbors from hell' could create, having JWs here, no matter how whacky the beliefs may be, you couldn’t ask for better neighbors. Can this change for me? Of course. Nothing is static. But for now, it's better than speeding cars, skateboarding, screaming kids and litter. I love your input, and i learn from it. It’s always good to learn. Thanks for your expertise and input.

My Father was a really, really nice Witness. When he died he wrote me out of his will because I chose to quietly leave his religion. (He even stated it in his Will!) It is the religious leaders of JW's that cause otherwise decent people to do terrible things.

@petertocher6845 what is so terrible about leaving you out of his will? After all its his money. Granted it was not nice but I would not call it terrible
@petertocher68456 ай бұрын
@@willemkuiper6074 Imagine if he had written, "I leave nothing to my only son because I found out he is Gay". Would you consider his action 'terrible' ? As a society, we fequently make judgements about whether something is terrible or wonderful based on the MOTIVE for such actions. You might leave a child out of your will because he is self sufficient or he has harmed you badly or for some other compelling reason. In my case, I had a good relationship with my father. I am his only child and I have 6 of his only Grandchildren. I have little in savings due to loss of work throughout life due to ill health. So, yes, he is entitled to give his money to the church and nothing to his only child if that's what he wants but I suspect most reasonable people would view this very badly. When you add in the Jehovah's Witness hatred for those that leave ("Mentally diseased") you can see how they influence their followers to inflict the maximum social harm on their children as punishment.
