I’ve been doing my best to keep people around me from panicking or getting complacent, but I really wish we’d stop talking about national polling averages. Besides the fact that they’re meaningless, nobody’s going to win by 10+ points (and probably not even by 7-8 points) in this, or any, election for the foreseeable future. It’s also tough to explain why the national polling average margin is as wide as it is, when the battleground margins appear to be much narrower individually.

It was the incessant identity politics and what they're ignoring now is the ~50%+ Black support for Trump and ~60%+ Hispanic support for Trump. Also more people are lying to pollsters now than they ever have. They're using 2010 census data and flawed assumptions from '08 and '12. They basically tossed out the data from '16 and went back to their old ways. Whatever method they're using now is in the wrong direction. Polling will have to change significantly before it becomes relevant again.
