We live in the Sierras of California, and across the street from a pond. We enjoy watching the Osprey and Eagles that live around the pond. We were once kayaking and my husband was fishing, and an Osprey swooped down and grabbed the fish he had on his line and took off! His line was spinning wildly, and eventually the Osprey dropped the fish. My husband reeled it in and released it, and the Osprey immediately came down and got it! Nature Nuggets❤️

This is a pre-emptive strike on the comments for this video. You kiddo's are creating so many memories for your old age. When Willie had Sarah up in his arms spinning her around my mind quickly transitioned to when they are in their 80's or 90's and Willie saying, "Hey, Sarah, remember when we were young and could do that?" I know it's hard work for you guys to create these videos, and I know there are times you are tired of filming, and would probably love to take a break from documenting your life. Enjoy it while you are young 🙂

I began using Earth Breeze laundry detergent sheets because their commercial really stresses how colored plastics generally do not get recycled as much as clear plastic. The idea of using colored plastic and recycling it into flower pots is an awesome idea. Plastics are also used in creating Pollywood which is used for lawn furniture and decking material. Humans are a bit late getting this right, but better late than never it is always said.

The celery roots are best left in shallow water; they won't grow like proper whole celery plants, but give a good supply of leaves for flavouring soups and stews; worth doing, you should get a couple of cuts from each one. Other things I've found worth doing by rooting in water are basil and watercress. If you try carrot tops, you won't get carrots, but will get some tasty greens to add to salads or make into pesto. Not on the John Seymour scale of self sufficiency lol - but I like the irony of the "every little helps " mantra from a certain supermarket 😅

Thanks for the advice on hiking gear, when I was in Scotland, I’m Australian, I was so unprepared for the wind and had to buy a fleece shirt. It’s the best thing I’ve bought, have lent it to some people for their travel to colder climates. It doesn’t get any wear here in Queensland, we think it’s cold if the temperatures go below 20 degrees Celsius. A month ago I noticed a few of my subscriptions in KZbin had changed and I had to resubmit, weird that

Loved the eagle photos. In the army we were told "cotton kills" in terms of base layers. This was reinforced on every survival course. You pointed out correctly that cotton doesn't wick away sweat. The problem comes when you stop your activity and the moisture trapped in the cotton can cause hypothermia. Not an issue if you are just wandering around the tourist spots but could be if you get caught out overnight. Great videos, I look forward to seeing them each week.

I've planted lemon straight from a lemon and now I have 3 lemon trees growing this summer. You should plant them in your house. They will grow up. They just need some sun shine. When you pick a leaf and break it into it will smell like a lemon. In the winter makes you think of warm days. The person that writes your music is to loud tell them to turn their volume down. Its a simple solution. I love Will's music. You guys make my sunday, thank you.

Willie, Sarah and Doggies, Bald Eagles are fairly common here in Ferndale/Billingham, WA Your Eagles look so much like ours , they are probably cousins. Our climate in Whatcom County can be similar to yours, but our Cascade Range of mountains is 30 miles to the East, so with Bellingham Bay to the West, ours may be more moderate. We have a saying here, "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes" I am happy your feeling better, Willie, sorry you missed the Castle event. You need to down a bit more of your fine Scotch or possibly some of Sarah's cordials, eh? Cheers, Rik Spector

Sarah, great job keeping your beautiful part of the world clean! As an environmental geologist I clean up some nasty places that a lot of people will never see or visit, especially my own children, but it still makes me feel good to know that I'm helping to clean it up for them. I am NOT criticizing! This is info for the readers who are interested in wearing good outdoor layers. Cotton really is the worst layer. Especially against your skin. It does not breathe well and does not wick at all. Just becomes a big soggy mess that takes ages to dry. Use wool. Or a good quality synthetic. Or a wool and synthetic. Feel great against skin and wick very well. Cotton should never be worn. I have backcountry telemark skied in Alaska and Canada as well as bikepacking, hiking, etc. Just my opinion -fair but most experts agree. However choose what you can afford and work your way up. It can be expensive! However generally very well done and excellent practical and proven advice! Be well!
