Megabass Diamonte in the sexy shad or pearl colors are amazing whenever bass are schooling on bait fish. The weight distribution is weighted so that the rearend is heavier and makes the head of the lure sit up. It looks like a baitfish half in and out of the water. Walking it with the pop, pop; pop, pop, pause, is insane. Tyler, as always thank you for the info and high quality content.

I almost had a toad bass probably a 5. I caught my drop shot on the snag of grass sticks an rock. As I retrieved my line in slow to moderate pace the bass destroyed my drop shot with green pumpkin fluke. As I set the hook I had him an reeled him a couple ft the line snapped but I had him good. I couldn't check my line because I was in the middle of my retrieve I was in the 3 to 4ft of water when I had this monster

Been fishing since before I can remember - the ‘crickhopper’ lure (mimics a cricket), is the one I would never go without. I’ve had the best luck with the brownish or natural color of the insect. Fishing around stream rocks or rocky shores will drive almost anything with fins into a frenzy.

Bro, you nailed it! I throw a popper from April-August on Clear Lake. 95% hookup rate and almost every other angler throws frogs with 50% hookup being generous. Purely numbers! RICO Poppers are money! But frog bites and the hookset make frog fishing so exciting!

Great video as always. My top two favorite tip water are 6th sense dogma 100, and the only buzzbait I throw is made by nates custom baits it's a hybrid buzzbait in the sense that it has buck hair along with the scurt and my favorite part it's inline. not like a standard buzzbait where there is a bend to the wire.

My pb LMB was caught in the most pressured/most difficult pond to fish in my city of Toronto. I've fished most of the great Kawartha lakes for bass/musky and I've caught some good largies/smallies. With that being said my pb LMB and SMB to date have both been caught in the city in the most pressured water. I got dialed into that looking for 1 big bite frame of mind fishing water that I knew/know holds giants but are extremely difficult to catch.

This is what I've always wanted to see - someone describing the "science" of fishing. Everyone I've ever talked to or watched basically describes it as an art. Which I guess it is in part but there is definitely a science to it. And you don't live _that_ far away from me (Arkansas), so I imagine a lot of things are pretty similar - not identical - but similar enough to extrapolate. And God, buzzbaits frustrate me. I've seen people catch fish after fish with them and I think in my 35 years, I've caught exactly one fish with them...

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

i catch alot of fish in the summer on top water flukes. when i was browsing youtube about fluke fishing i realized most people dont fish them topwater, instead they let it sink and fish it like a hard jerkbait. blew my mind... i know people fish them underwater but it was like no one has heard of top water fuke fishing on youtube or forums. i assume most people just throw a frog in substitute for a topwater fluke.

I see lots of videos on how to use (insert lure here) but they are all on lakes with grass (or any type of vegetation growth) and/or shallow-ish lakes. In my area (central North Arkansas), we have deep (most areas get 40ft deep 10-15 yards from the bank or deeper), steep banked, and rocky lakes. I'd like to see a video how to fish deep lakes with limited vegetation.

I went fishing and used a wake bait. A nice smallie crushed. As time passed I've realized to catch big ones you work lure moderate and slow. As stated they get this big due to survival adaptation. What I mean is fish learns it doesn't have to work as hard when food is plentiful. That's why if birds are picking off baitfish the fish are below picking off the injured ones. Also, they hide in brush grass drops and cover to ambush near by foliage.

I've noticed when throwing a plopping bait in deeper water the harder the bottom the better the reaction. I think the vibration bounces off the hard bottom and attracts/aggravates the first into striking. This is the case in the river I fish in.

Most definitely! I went out a few days ago here in FL and was on an amazing frog bite. Probably had about 20ish blowups, only caught 6 fish. But each time, that hit puts this smirk on my face. Never gets old

I’m new to fishing so help me out here. It’s mid summer and I fish in north Alabama. I thought bass were deep in summer time so how can you fish a top water if they are super deep? ( I fish off of a bank)

I hate how you guys gotta absolutely fully explain some things that to a novice angler is kinda elementary but i really love your videos....im twice your age and im super surprised that a whippersnapper like yaself knows so much...solid information,which i very much appreciate

Are buzz baits any good in shallow ponds where there is, basically, no underwater structure or cover?
@TylersReelFishing

Yes they can be, just make an extra long cast

I caught the same 8 lber last spring on the brazos river the first time I was using a frog second time I was using a chatterbait. The second time she was 50 yards from where I caught her the first time. She had a bad spot on her tail that helped me identify her

Also a lipless crank moderate speed. Crank moderate speed let it sink. Lipless crankbaits can be used deeper 12 inch below the surface or mid point in the water. If your in 8 ft cast lure out an let sink for 5 to 7 seconds. Then moderate retrieve crank an pause. Change cadence an yes change also how you pause time change. Pause at 3 seconds, then 2 seconds then 4 seconds between cranks. Don't always just use 3 seconds during pause. Crank for 3 to 5 seconds or 4 to 8 seconds or 3 seconds. As you pause change times how long you pause all baits it's more natural. Most don't tell us this

Would color matter for certain areas for Whopper Ploppers or choppo? What do you think would be best for a Bone color?

Quick question Tyler. Yesterday I was throwing a popper on my spinning reel with 30lb braid, and a loop knot of course, but I got line twists every other cast. Should I use a swivel or is it because I'm reeling in slack?
@TylersReelFishing
@TylersReelFishing Жыл бұрын
Hmm, I’m not sure. That might help, but I’m not usually a fan of added terminal tackle if it’s not needed. Is your popper turning over when you’re popping it? That’s all I could think of that’s causing that

@@TylersReelFishing I don't believe so but I'll definitely check it out. I've notices anytime I do the twitch, twitch, pause cadence my line twists when I'm reeling and I get a gnarly tangle by the spool. I'm going to try and switch to my baitcaster. My thought is it's the orientation of the spool? Thanks for replying!
