We talked for hours and he said nothing at all about the temptations, he talked about things he had done and was planning to do. I could see nothing but greatness in Mr. David ruffin. He,s known to me as Mr. Temptation.

Nobody really cared about the temps until David. They had 4 other lead singers but no hit until David. He made everybody pay attention to these men. He started their flight. Dennis Edwards didn’t do that, they were already on their way up. I believe had David remained in the group they still would have had the same possibilities.

Otis did not "create" The Temptations. The Temptations were the merger of two groups- The Primes (Paul and Eddie) and the Distants (Otis, Richard Street and Eldridge Bryant).
