"with SPD's I found that I was stuck a lot" Well sh*t yeah, as a spd user for a decade (~1995 to 2005) I had a dozen of me looking like a fool incidents, at least one death call when the bike got stuck on a tree and my whole body kept going forward except for my right leg, it was a bit of a heavy injury so I rode flats for awhile 😂

Used to use Times, too, when i used clipped in. But with Shimano coming out with Multi-Releas Point (MRP) cleats, it's super easy to get out of SPDs now as it releases in any position including straight up, and when combined with spring tension adjustment on SPD it's even better. So now when i clip in it is Saint SPD with MRP cleats. But I usually ride paltforms.

I never got along with clip in pedals. Always a flat pedal rider, and always looking for better flats. I found Pedalling Innovations Catalyst flat pedals, they are big ,grippy and I don’t need to buy bike specific shoes anymore, just cheap Vans or similar. I’ve never looked back.

I actually did a review on those pedals here on my channel a bit over a year ago. They didn't provide me any benefit over regular good platforms and they hit the ground too easily making them a bit dangerous for me. So I didn't keep them.

All my bikes have flats and I like the raceface atlas pedals lately. I have a set of Trey Jones pedals for my BMX bike. I've never tried riding clipped in, it just seems like a good way to get hurt for no reason. Thanks for sharing!

The whole reason I switched to Time clipless in the mid 2000s was exactly for that reason. Because of its design they are super easy to get out of and I never had an issue getting my feet out of them when I needed to. That being said, I definitely prefer 510s and platform pedals.

Right on. If I ever do try riding clipped in I'll definitely try Time pedals. @@ShadLife

You forgot toe clip pedals! I rode those in the 90s, and honestly I kind of miss them. Just did a search to see if they still sell them, and they market them for indoor bikes. You know I might just order a set, try them with my 5-10s, see if I can get some strange looks and start a new trend.

I didn't forget them, I don't use them so I didn't talk about them. I personally have no interest in toe straps. I used them in the early to mid 90s, then switched to SPD and never looked back. Then Time pedals around the mid 2000s.

How do you like those Wolf Tooth Waveform?

My favorite pedals by far. I think they are the best pedals in the market right now.

Flat pedals are a cheese grater to my shins. Went in and got 8 stitches once last year. Been wearing shin guards ever since. Thinking about switching to clipless instead. My trails are mainly XC anyway. Any recommendation on model for Time?

MX 6 if you want more of a pedal body. I use the XC 6 when I do use them.
