For all of my 35 years on mountain bikes I have ridden flats.After trying dozens there are only 3 I use now.Burgtec penthouse,Hope F20’s and just lately Cardertec,interestingly all 3 are made in the UK ,(which makes me happy) and these 3 are in my opinion better than anything else out there

Interesting. I recently went from a set of OneUp composites to Diety TMACs. Wanted a concave pedal where as the One is more convex. Thought I’d love the bigger platform but two things where very different immediately. The pedal sticks out further which changed where my feet went and changed how the bike handled. And also the larger platform somehow made my feet fatigue where as the Ones never did. Interesting the things that change when you change pedals. Thinking of going back to OneUp but the alloy version.

Burgtec has all the riders contact points and cockpit covered not just a pedal company, also the best thru axles too imho, great chainrings and titanium shock mounts as well.

Im pretty happy with my Raceface atlas v2. Originally tried the one up alloy pedal and they were close, but the bearing housing was a bit goofy.

Weight limits on thinner pedals i seen are 90kg .?

So, JT. I bought your magazine to read the flat pedal in-depth-review having watch your first two videos; great work there by the way. This lead to my purchase of a pair of black Race Face Atlas for my Norco Sight VLT A1. I’ve used them for two 60 km rides and during the first ride I found the LHS pedal was creaking. for both sides I found that the pedal body has a slight amount of play on the axle, I checked the tightness of the outer bearing nut but still the creaking continued on the second ride. As your number 4 pick and having owned a pair for a year, have you experienced clearance on the axle or creaking? Thanks mate.

G'day Paul. Firstly cheers for the support! I've actually now got those exact pedals on 2 of my bikes and I haven't experienced any creaking from any of the 4 individual pedals. After reading your comment I even popped out to the shred to double check. You pedal definitely shouldn't be making any noise so if I were you I'd give the tech team over at Fox Factory (parent company of RaceFace) a call on 02 8379 0600. They offer great customer service and they no doubt get you sorted right away. Cheers and happy trails!

@@revolutionmountainbike I just bought a pair + another 2 pairs because I loved them so much with amazon … 30 € each , I don’t know probably Chinese , they great (the Chinese) maybe Taiwan . Maybe the same with my ktm exc r , break + clutch lever , made in EU , they are great more than 100 bucks each , I got 2 for 35 from China postage included ❤️👀 , thank u anyway , great topic !

Hot tip for anyone considering the OneUps - they're also some of the best sealed and easiest to service pedals. Because they use a pin that is only threaded at the base, they were a touch not grippy enough for me. Replaced all of OneUps pins with the best pins on the market, Chromag Dagga pins (which are theaded at the base, then tapered in to make them thinner = more grip, and then threaded at the end for more grip). They're the only pins that are varied in shape & appear to have any genuine R&D put into them. Another upside is that in the event of a break, the non-threaded potion will also be the point of failure which makes it a lot easier to remove/replace.
