Great football analogy. Also really liked the emphasis you put on integrity, this is the most important quality in life.

As someone who tried and failed I wish I had got this insight 20 years ago before embarking on the Quest to join The Corps. I liked the bit about banter. If you can't take banter are maybe a bit of a loner, it will be a tough challenge to get through! I am not saying that you won't do it, but it is a real band of brothers. Round pegs for round holes. I was the square one hence why I never made it. Good luck to all you guys out there train hard and never quit. Trust me you don't want to look back in 20 years time with regrets.

This actually helped me a lot. Like honestly most of my worries are gone. I honestly thought I had to somewhat be a superhuman to attain that green beret. But I have one question. For the different things you said about your personality, How much would the cadets help with that compared to figuring it out by yourself. Personally I think I have one thing down. The lying. I normally just be real with people than be a d*ck and lie. But great video as always Sam. Hope you're well. 🙂

Quick question in regards to life after RM. Retiring early as a RM - do you still receive something equivalent to a pension or only qualify upon retirement as the required age?

Hey, I'm 16 and looking to apply for the royal marines after I'm done with school. A few months ago I broke my ankle and ended up having to get a couple screws and a plate put in. So far recovery is going great for being only 15 weeks after surgery (went on a 5k run through rough trails yesterday with no problems) and it is expected that after a year it will be completely healed with no issues in mobility or pain. Do you think that this will in any way affect the application process or become an issue when I'm going to apply ? Physically it should not be a hinderance, but I am just not sure whether it will be an issue on paper. Otherwise great video man, Is really helping me to get better view of what I'll be going into and what I'll need to do.

I have a question about becoming a Royal Marines Officer. I was looking into officer roles and saw in other areas of the military it just becomes an office job which is what I don't want to do. From your experience, how does life as an officer differ from a standard Royal Marine and do you know the benefits of becoming an officer within the RMC. Thanks.

Hey Sam my name is nathan Lewis I'm 17 years old and I live in Jamaica I've always wanted to be a marine growing up but last year I was introduced to the royal Marines by a family friend who is a British army vet and he is also jamaica or he was jamaican he migrated when he was 17 also but this was like 30 years ago But being that I'm from jamaica do you think that I would be able to join the Marines from jamaica and then get to travel to England and train and serve? Your advice and insight would be amazing because I am insanely confused at the moment I was planning to join when I turn 18

Apply from the website as soon as possible mate. (AS SOON AS YOURE 18), not before or they might bin your application. I'm from NZ so know the commonwealth route. Best bet is to apply online via the main website asap. YOU NEED TO BE 18, they wont take commonwealthers unless youre 18.
