It definitely wasn't crickets at 1-4. I was also at the arena and while it was definitely a lot quieter then even the highs before the game started last night, it was still louder then plenty of regular season games I've been to for the Canucks. So crickets is undermining the energy of the crowd even when we were down. But holy shit you're absolutely right about the crowd at the end of the 3rd! Never high fived so many people I don't know before! And the volume, my god. Even after the game ended and people are exiting, it was still an absolute buzz of noise! Loved it.

@@safejewel2072 to be fair, the only goal in this game I see as Silovs' fault is the 4th one. Nothing could be done about the first one, second time he was screened by his own teammates and then they jumped off the puck and didn't block it. The third was just a deflection. There is nothing he (or any other goalie) could or would have done differently.

@@samuelpopovich5488 3 goals werent his fault, those are Ian Coles fault for being a dumbass 3 separate times. He was good when he needed to be, Ian Cole put the Canucks in the position of being down 3-1. The only goal that was his fault was the 4th one where it goes off Myers stick where Silovs is expecting it up high and not staying right on the ice.

Was at the arena and definitely feel like the crowd managed to get into Skinner's head. Started chanting "SKIN-errrr" not long before the first Canucks goal, and that just egged the crowd on to up the anti any time the Canucks scored or there was a chance of them scoring. Wonder how that will play out over the series!

Oilers haven't won a game against Vancouver since last season in January 2023. When they finally get a win, that monkey will be off their back and the Canucks are going to have a ridiculous battle. That said, I think Vancouver has more depth offensively and defensively and that's not counting Petersson and Hoglander who have been invisible in the playoffs as far as scoring

Both games last night were crazy for very different reasons. I feel like Canucks may be the team of destiny this year, just like the Panthers last year. The big question mark for me is Silovs. He’s been on or off so far these playoffs, but if he can at least be an average goalie Vancouver can go very far.

I wouldn't say there's questions about Vancouver goaltending really. Sure, Silovs didn't have the best game, but he's been playing exceptionally well for a young rookie goaltender, even getting a shutout to close out the series. He's been pretty phenomenal and obviously isn't going to always have a superb game, as even the best goalies of all time have bad games. His nerves have been really solid as well which was my biggest surprise of such a young goalie.

Mc David switched gears from last year. He went from basically scoring at will to having a pass first mentality (with over 100 assist) to keep everyone on the team engaged. True leadership move!! But he is going to GO OFF next game, he will not allow them go down 2 games.

Tbf I don't necessarily think the issue was or is McDavid. The Oilers issue is being a team that relies way too heavily on special teams to do the dirty work while being saddled with questionable depth, poor team defense, and AHL quality goaltending.

I am starting to think that Zach Hyman has infected the Oilers with a slight leafiness. If it had gone to over time it would look like a leafs game almost play for play. They score and play well until the 3rd period and then somehow blow a 4-1 lead. We have done it several times in the regular season and several times in the post season. Even in a game 7!

Honestly it's a legitimate strategy to go down against Edmonton by a couple so they try (and, often but of course not always, fail) to close a game out by protecting a lead. They're just not deep enough defensively.
