It was actually a smart move, to include these little pieces of foreshadowing in such a peaceful event, for the players to underestimate the meaning of this. Not necessarily related to the topic, but Hoyo did a similar move at the very beginning of the game, giving us Kaeya and Lisa - 2 characters with the most amount of hidden lore behind them. I know dawit talked about Kaeya, but what about Lisa? The Abyss mage in her quest, who was after one of the books from the library that "contained a secret" literally said that she hides her real identity, then Lisa gave it such a painful death, it let out a horrendous scream. The book is still in the game archive ("The Pale princess...") and the story in this book describes something related to the global plot. And I'm not talking about countless other details about her: her constellation, her time in Sumeru when Azar had been like "Yeah, she has that dawg in her", Albedo being suspicious about her being a simple librarian, given her abilities, her "More about Lisa: V" voice line, her nonchalant attitude when we first see her after Stormterror attack when she was like "Don't worry, Jean, I'll take care of this when the time is right". Anyway, I think it's worth a look by dawit. I wonder what his take on Lisa would be. The same goes for Kaeya, Hoyo just put him and Lisa - 2 endgame characters in order for them to be kinda overshadowed and underestimated, so that they can create a bunch of juicy plot twists, and they did a similar thing in the current event, dropping some lines of dialogue, significance of which may not be recognized, but when the time comes people will be like "OOOH, SO THAT'S WHAT THEY MEANT"

The amount of planning they put into this game is truly incredible. I really think that the game's story will both start and (somewhat) end in Mondstadt; there are just so many things we still don't know about the city and the most important people in it. If I were to take an educated guess, I think we'll have Venti's second story quest in Mari Jivari in Natlan, and Capitano will shed some additional light on Varka (maybe we'll find out where the hell he is!!).

Have I missed something or why is everyone suddenly thinking that Ei is gonna ally with the Fatui, ignoring that Ei and inuzuma is in open hostility towards the fatui. She basicly said that A. war must be avoided at all cost and B. that she will fight if she is forced to, together with all of inuzuma. While Ei has cut all connection with celestia, she has neither hate nor love for them, but is afraid of them. Still her relationship with it is still much more amendable than with the fatui or the abyss. And given the Fatui and Abyss always sowing chaos and are starting sh*t its much more likely that Ei will fight against them and potentially make a truce with celestia to preserve Inuzuma. So unless the heavenly principals wants to cast down/curse the people of inuzuma, Ei will most likely not fight them, and simply try to sidestep the war. Still Dain did say not to trust the gods, so who knows.

I am honestly so Adoring of Phanes/The Primordial one being the one who would truely fight for Humanity. Not only does it make senve with what we know about them, everything we know they have done has been for humanity, so they could a home, so they could live, so they could have leaders to guide them. People dunk on celestia in general because of things like the Archon war, but to the primordial one the Archons and God's hold less priority than humanity. There purpose was to fight each other in order for leaders to be appointed to help humanity. The Archons are not the rulers of nations to the eyes of Phanes. They are the servents sent to help the people. In the end they care about humanity more than anything else. If some theory are to be believed they came to Teyvat and usserped the soverigns for the sole reason to give Humanity a home after something happened to there old one. They would never bring judgment or ruin down to humanity. They love the humans, more than they love the gods, or the order of heiricahy. Humanity and they joy will always be the first priority. So throw away your misconceptions of the primordial one being a tryanical, ussper. Throw away the idea that they even at all care about the system if celestia and the Archons being in power. In the end, they will choose to protect humanity at a whole in the final fight. I think this is what will lead them to join forces with the traveler. Someone who has befreined, witnessed and understood all manner of beings in this land. They will fight together to protect their friends and dearly beloved humans.

I have few guesses about what war she could talk about, since there's multi "factions" in the game, most of them will fight agains't each others and not together. I think each factions will fufill one part of the final war agains't Celestia and the fake sky, but some of them will fail. Neuvillette can't win by himself, The Traveler is useless, the archons might fail because they are much weaker than Celestia's gods, the abyss might have a chance but with the cost of corrupting the world and to finish the Fatui have the best chance by collecting every Gnosis. I don't think that war will end in a good way, yes we might defeat celestia but at what cost? Remember that Alice said that something is trying to enter Teyvat by force because Teyvats barrier is weakening. If Celestia is the one keeping that barrier up with their "fake sky", if they are defeated, how it will end in the end?

dunno why YT recommended this to me but it couldn't have come at a better time, I've been trying to wrap my head around the fatui/abyss/celestia conflict because I've started writing a fanfic that's tied to it and I just could not keep up with all the individual moving pieces but seeing it all together here has helped loads!!! real excited to see where the game goes with this, but I really hope they learned their lesson about how to write conflicts properly. the inzauma archon quest centered on a war and..... I really didn't care for it not gonna lie. here's to hoping they get it right in Natlan (yknow a nation of war) and if they drop the ball after doing so well in sumeru and fontaine, I can only hope third time's the charm when THE war finally sparks

"War" is related to Natlan and i think this foreshadowing is related more to the Natlan lore. Maybe we will need to fall in a great war with the archon or maybe the resurrected archon of Natlan? and maybe Raiden or other archons will come to help us. You surely do get a point, but wasn't it said that Celestia was severely weakened after the whole encounter and war with the Second Who Came to the point that the two of them (PRESUMABLY the two of them, since PO was the winner, as far as we know) found a THIRD descender to kill off and make 7 gnosis out of them? My point stands that celestial power is wearing thin in Teyvat. Their whole little "The Sims: Teyvat" is falling at the simulation since when the fake stars begin to fall. Somehow, their code got corrupted. I have some little bits of thoughts about the original world of Teyvat and it's original inhabitants (thanks to another lore maniac, Ashikai) but I came up to that conclusion way longer, a little before the ending of act 1 of Fontaine. Humans are descendants of dragons at SOME capacity. The first civilizations were of of mixed breeds between dragons and whatever the f came with the PO. They were adapted to a world a lot more hostile and thrived for a while, but they were too free. Too much of a threat should their knowledge and power get out of hand - worse yet, probably they already had good relationship with the Sovereigns. At least at some capacity, since I noted that the previous Hydro Sovereign morr than likely lived amongst the people of Enkanomya either before or shortly after their fall, since they lived somehow close to his domains. And Nibelung probably lived in Khaenriah, I am fairly certain these guys are at SOME capacity descents of his own blood and flesh. Because... I mean... The Sovereign of Hydro is the God of Life, right? Apep must be an original "God of Wisdom" of some sort. But my point is... That ONLY the ORIGINAL god could make humans HUMANS. The fontainians, made by Egeria, were INCOMPLETE. BUT. The REAL God of Life made them the real deal. So... They must share something with the original world order, right?

This whole bible was just to say that I don't think Phanes is still in their prime. They are wounded and recovering of a GREAT ordeal. The Sovereigns took a toll on them. God know WHAT THE F happened between 2nd and 3rd descender that led to the Archon War and decimated the previous "gods" of Teyvat almost in a purge-like Hunger Games. Most of the gods either died or became weakened as well. Their powers limited by erosion... And I wonder how much they are now compared to their former, more powerful selves? Celestia's pillars are wavering and slowly crumbling. Or so it seems. However I do agree with you that people in Teyvat are still too disorganised to take on this fight. Khaenriah and Neuvilette, even if he's the second most powerful being in Teyvat (assuming Il Capitano is the first), that will hardly change the outcome of things UNLESS their ideia is incapacitate Celestia even more. They are too few. As of now. But I'm eager to see what's about to come lol

Before the battle against celestia we will have faced most if not all harbingers. After that we will join the tsaritsa or vice versa, unite all archons and dragons, as we all have celestia as common enemy. And go for that. I'm divided when abyss gets in the war. Most probably abyss is too much to be before celestia. Abyss is the enemy of the human kind as people of mondstadt said. We won't make an alliance with them. But I can see phanes and Cia giving us a hand to beat abyss. That would make the siblings showdows as the final thing in the game. It fits better

So this is a question I hadn't really thought about before. Celestia feels like it's a bit low on foot soldiers. I suppose they could just create a new race of beings like the way that Goddess of Flowers created the Jinni. The Jinni are supposed to be pretty powerful individually. That could make for some pretty cool cutscenes if they went with a mass brawler scenario like something from out of Lord of the Rings. Huge armies clashing. As for what Miko/Ei mean about the "big" war... it all seems a little odd. I get what you mean about the Dain monologues, but it's just hard to see why anyone would bother with a physical war when it would all come down to who has the hardest hitting top five or six god-like powered people. I mean if the Fatui invaded every country in Teyvat and let's say they win every battle, what then? That gets them nowhere at all. It's completely pointless. Besides Dain says it's a continuation of past wars and the past wars were fights between Descenders and the Sovereigns. Something like that just doesn't seem realistic. HP is asleep, where the heck is the 2nd? 3rd is dead, 4th is a pacifist and the dragons are scattered or dead. So my best guess is that Ei and Miko believe that the Cataclysm is going to repeat itself for some reason. It's the only "big war" either of them have any experience about. And it's a big war that did indeed involve fighting at every level from gods down to rank and file ordinary soldiers. The problem of it not making any sense to have such a war is solved by it being fought against creatures that don't care about making sense. But I don't really think the Abyss Order would be on that same side, any more than the Khaenri'ahns were. Despite the Perinheri stuff about Crimson Moon Khaen ri'ah and their beast knights, we've never seen Abyss Order folks fighting with Rifthounds have we? Hm. That's actually a good question. I don't really pay a lot of attention to that so I can't really say if the game is very consistent or to what degree it is consistent about grouping naturally occurring monsters together in their factions and avoiding eg putting Fatui and Abyss mages together, or Hilichurls and Emerites. And how close do they come eg in the Spiral Abyss? I don't do the Spiral Abyss much but I think they might split them up by "wave" of attacks so each "wave" is from a single faction but the next "wave" even within one of the three fights on each "side" of the Spiral Abyss might have a different faction. I can't say if they have consistent rules that you could use to ask a question like "Are rifthounds treated as part of the Abyss Order faction?" Also ignoring the Spiral Abyss could a similar patterns be deduced from open world and AQ mandatory fights? (excluding optional domains). At any rate going back to a "war" if it is seen as a 2nd Cataclysm it would have been nice if we'd seen any Archons making ready for it. But OK. Such a war would not be something that decides the fate of Teyvat but more like an obstacle that has to be met on the way to deciding the fate of Teyvat using individual heroes. Which is actually also what the Lord of the Rings does come to think of it. Masses of battles all over Middle Earth but the only thing that counts is Frodo and Sam and Gollum fighting over the ring at the Cracks of Doom. Nevertheless the wars have meaning. They must be won, or at least not lost, to buy time for the ringbearers.

So looking through the Spiral Abyss line ups for the last 4 years there are certainly patterns. For example Khaenri'ahn robots always appear by themselves, as do the Black Serpent Knights / Husks. The Primordial Constructs once got paired with an Emerite. A couple of times a Fatui got paired with an Abyss Mage. So it seems mostly to be true they try to stick to the faction (with several low level monsters seemingly neutral - like humans and slimes). The rifthounds mostly appeared by themselves but a couple of times they appeared with an Abyss Mage and once with a Lector. OTOH I also saw them with a Fatuus twice. So it's hard to say if this is consequential. A few accidents? or is it consequential? Pairing Abyss Mages with Fatui seems wrong. Well that's the Spiral Abyss over 4 years. They have records of all the waves on the wiki do that was easy. What would be harder is to try and remember if Rifthounds have fought with other factions in the overworld or during Archon Quests. The categories in the archive are NOT helpful here as they eg place the Abyss Order, Rifthounds and Black Serpent Knights together - along with the Beacher Primus for some reason. So archive categories are NOT Spiral Abyss fighting factions.

The Abyss is interesting, although I wanna start out by reminding you david johnson my friend the order didnt come into existence until a short while after the cataclysm that saw a rash of riftwolves plague teyvat. Now with that said there are infact other abyss monsters that existed before the order did, that look identical to the ones in the order, take for instance the cryo lecter that was guarding the sinner crystal. What we dont know is whether the abyss order just came in and took complete control, or whether the two forces just merged into a bigger one, with a shared goal

Well you say the fortune lector is identical looking, and I agree, but the Traveler does not. In fact here's the quote: ???: Halt, humans. Fate has not granted you the right to enter this place... (Traveler): (An Abyss Herald? No, he doesn't look like someone from the Abyss Order...) So it may be a limit of the game system that ideally they'd want the Fortune Lector to NOT look just like any other Lector. And we never see the Abyss Order with any other monsters from the Cataclysm except Hilichurls. Beyond the chimera things (Lion/snake stuff) one of the Pari mentions fighting giant "bugs". The other issue is that the data on Rifthounds is contradictory. Some sources (the less reliable ones) claim Rhinedottir made them and others say they came from another world, and they have their own motivations and plans for this world of Teyvat. Given that since the beginning of the game were are fed a false line about the Cataclysm having an army of Hilichulrs and Ruin Guards, which by Sumeru we are told was not an army at all but more kind of victims of the Cataclysm, all this casts doubt on what and who the actual fighting force of the Cataclysm was about. Oh and the fact that Khaenri'ah is now known to have fought against those creatures initially and was defeated. Going back to the fake Lector (who is a lector not a Herald - so not really the same at all) we have another image used twice which is the shadowy husk. It's used for the old royal guard in the Chasm but used again for an old Schwanenritter knight in one of the ruin golems. Same 3D model used. They just couldn't be bothered to make a slight variant form. So maybe something similar is going on. The Fortune Lector may be on it's own. Like Jakob uses the Baptist model but there's only one of him. Maybe Jakob isn't meant to be identical either. Maybe none of them are. Maybe the only common element we're supposed to infer is that they are neohumans who have been corrupted or evolved by use of Abyssal energy. @@DawitsLookingforEmilia
