Something to remember about Venti, from our very first encounter with him at the start of the game... Venti can teleport. So how can a harbinger take a gnosis from a god that can teleport? If said God wants them to have it. Not to avoid a fight in the city, he could easily do that by leaving, but he wanted her to have it.

Y'know an Archon feat that's always stuck with me? Venti terraforming Mondstat. To do this, he summoned winds so strong that they tore no small number of cliffs and mountains apart and hurled them far out into the ocean. Now, if you ask 'How heavy is a mountain?' the answer you get typically isn't anywhere below BILLIONS of kg (Pilos might've been even in the trillions if it was comparable to Everest). And Lord Barbatos performed this feat _casually_ as the weakest of the Seven Archons. (I know applying IRL math to a fictional game can be kinda pointless at times, but regardless of the numbers, the sheer strength of the fucking WIND needed to rip mountains apart and fling them far out to sea is so absurd it's unreal).

The abyss was so powerful that maktao had to get the help of ISTRAOTH. Which if istaroth hadn’t helped more archons could’ve died or possibly just weakened by a lot. It is implied in raiden’s story quest at the end where she talks to yae and traveler she mentions a higher power being involved and her solution is what saved us all so if that’s really true then istaroth is still alive and kicking, watching time unfold.(I actually just remembered a little what minsleif said and a random ass screenshot of that dialogue so not everything may be right).

I'm seeing some good points that if Neuvillette was REALLY that much more powerful he would probably do something with it now? But I think this 'power' vs a specific 'authority' is tripping people up. Bro doesn't have a gigantic power boost across the board, but more like he just got really damn good at ONE niche thing, which is passing judgements. He can influence directly who lives and who dies and this is represented by his ability to literally separate the primordial sea (source of all life on teyvat) from the narwhal, and also when grants true blood to fontainians through that same primordial seawater. I think the nature of his authority is a lot more opportunistic than most are thinking because of how specific it is and also how calculating he is as the holder of it. Just my take from looking at 'authorities' across the honkaiverse. His looks a lot like the death/fate/rebirth authority seen elsewhere especially with the duality of pneumousia *edited this cause I typed it before my coffee

Is it wild that I feel Venti and Phanes are connected in some deeper way? Like based off what we know about Phanes, he's a god, androgynous in nature with angel wings and a crown. In greek mythology, this remains true but additionally, he's referred to as the God of Light and Goodness. Phanes is also usually equated with Eros and Dionysus and there are many indications to suggest that Venti is based off both Eros and Dionysus. I'll only mention that Dionysus is the god of winemaking, ecstasy and pleasure since Venti's similarities to Dionysus is more obvious Now I'll talk on Eros. Eros is the son of Aphrodite and Ares and at first, I thought "Venti is the son of Istaroth and Istaroth doesn't have a lover and Venti doesn't have a dad" But I never stopped to consider that Istaroth is not a legit name, it comes from the names Ishtar and Astaroth where Ishtar is referred to as a God of Love and War and Astaroth is her Demon name. So there we go, Venti was essentially born from a God of Love and a God of War. Eros is depicted as a God of Love in greek mythology while Mondstadt is often associated as a romantic nation and the windblume festival is dedicated to giving windblumes to those you love. Eros is often seen by his Mother, Aphrodite's, side and Venti was worshipped alongside Istaroth and Time and Wind is often theorized to having a close bond. Lastly, Eros typically wields a bow and arrow, a lyre (and a whip in some stories) Speaking on their appearance, in Greek Mythology Dionysus typically wears a long robe (chiton) and cloak (himation) which we see Venti wear in his statues and while I couldn't find anythkng on Eros other than his birthday suit, I guess that would explain why Venti is more showy that the other archons while still being decent enough to be in the game. I also want to mention in a cutscene Venti literally just wore cloth, not even an outfit but this also fits- Greek Gods are typically shown in the nude due to their status as Gods and they saw it as a sign of strength/power

To be fair, the only Archon that we know actually perished in the war with the Abyss was Makoto who was the actual weakest archon since she wasn't a fighter at all. Ei fought all her battles then gave her the Gnosis and speaking of Gnosis, she left the Gnosis with Ei when she went to war, otherwise it would've been lost to war of course. I think Venti gets downplayed too much because we've yet to see any feat of strength from him - rather all his godly feats have been in the form of "miracles" only his powers asa God could make happen. For the most part I'd assess Archon strength by their Age. Zhongli being the oldest; he is also the strongest, but Venti is the 2nd oldest, and based on what we know of how Mondstadt itself was terraformed it's pretty clear Venti is up there in strength as the current 2nd strongest known (That we've met) Archon. In Nahida's case, she had only just been freed from what was essentially a womb-tomb, and had seen 0 combat in her life aside from the fight with Hat Guy, so of course a Fatui Harbinger who is hundreds of years old is stronger than her. He does use the words "at current" representing that given more time to actually grow into her role, she would overpower him as would be expected of a God. The whole Top 3 Harbingers having power that contends with Gods statement from Nahida really does get over-used because as it was said in this video, the power gap between the weakest "Gods" like Adeptus and the strongest Gods aka the Archons is massive. While there's Adeptus who possess power far beyond that of mortals, there's also actual full fledged Gods like Osial and Beisht, and God-like beings such as Andrius, and I beleive the Top 3 Harbingers fall soemwhere in this in-between, but nowhere near a full fledged Archon like Ei casuallly one-shotting the God Orobashi the second it decided to effectively commit suicide attacking the surface world of Inazuma.

Hard to tell because the dragons talk big and oftentimes can't back it up. Neuvillette was the first to show that he was able to do so but that was after the hydro archon returned his authority. Even then, it still seems like there are limits to his power over hydro as an element and in terms of combat prowess we've never actually seen him have to fight properly after catching Childe off guard. Yeah he faced the whale but he was not very effective until he got his authority and even then.. We didn't really see him fight against the whale after getting his authority. It's hard to imagine him judging the archons. Maybe he's powerful but like, so are at least some of the archons.

Well, we have seen what authority can do in the hands of a being meant to use it. He just commanded all the Primordial Seawater in the veins of Fontainians everywhere to turn into real blood. And it happened. it is not merely strength of a powerful elemental creature, but true ability to reshape the world. It is not clear how much of this is available to archons. Egeria did create meat and bones for Fontainians, even though she was in charge of water, not meat or bones. Sure, Neuvillette must have got more powerful by recovering from injury that is his Authority torn away from him. And somehow, he regained a lot of knowledge at the same time. But Authority seems to be much more than that.

With Remuria's release its more clear why he isnt keen on fighting the Archons. It was said that till the Mistress of Many Waters Lives the Hydro Dragon will not be reborn. This tells us thay the very existence of the Archons are what is stopping the Dragon Sovereigns from returning to their physical form. Its a weird situation for Neuvillette, if he wants the other Sovereigns to return he has to kill the other Archons but if he does start to hunt down the Archons then he will reveal himself to Celestia and get killed by the Shades again after which Fontaine is getting destroyed and a new Hydro Throne and Archon will be created and Neuvillette cant reincarnate again till that Hydro Archon dies. So the only option for Neuvillette rn is to hide and pray a brick falls the heads of the Archons and they suddenly die

Neuvillette and Egeria's case was special. the Hydro dragon was the heart of primordial sea, the shades killed him and created egeria to be the new heart of primordial sea so technically, Egeria was spawncamping neuvillette that's why unless egeria dies, that's the only time neuvillette will be born. So the archons dont necessarily have to die for the Sovereigns to be born. In some theories, Azhdaha is speculated as the Geo Dragon Sovereign, just corroded. Besides, even if they die, as long as the throne is there a new archon will just emerge (e.g. Rukka to Nahida or Egeria to Focalors)

Losing the Gnosi didn't seem to dampen the Archon's power either cause Ei cut apart several islands of Inazuma along with Orobaxi who is also considered a god without the Gnosis and Zhongli still would have easily folded Osial in one go cause that dude probably has the highest kill count of gods that we know about.

hmm couple things to note. according to Zhongli himself losing a gnosis does seem to translate to a power loss he has two voice lines that say as much: "It seems my strength is returning. Not a lot, but enough." "After letting go of my Gnosis, I never expected to see a day like this again." Part of the reason he hept the gnosis until the very end was because if Liyue failed to stop Osial, then he would have had to step in. and while yes hes defeated Osial before without the gnosis, clearly the gnosis would have made much easier. Ei is just built different

Skirk and the others dwelling in the abyss uses abyssal, alien powers incompatible and pretty resistance to the elemental powers of teyvat. So they sure would have an advantage, but to match the Archons? That's a hard guess. Remember, it took the whole cataclysm to 'defeat' some of the Archons.

10:50 Nahida beats up Dottore in this scene, right? Dottore starts off already knowing he's beaten. He mentions that he OUGHT to be able to just take the gnosis by force, so why doesn't he? Well eh says it's because he wants to honour the god of wisdom. Anyone believe that crap? Anyone? Well Nahida and Dottore don't. Nahida even punks him by more or less saying, "oh really? why don't you try it then?" Dottore instantly backs down. This is quite the contrast as a scene with the earlier scene where Nahida fights Dottore so what has changed? it's not that nahida has 2 gnoses now - Dottore says she can't use that in a fight. It's almost as if Dottore knows he can't win in a fight but he doesn't know WHY he can't win in a fight and he's really curious. It makes no sense to him. He literally took her down just a few weeks earlier. He's sure he is more powerful. But he also knows he will lose if he fights. And he's curious -- it's the scientist in him. "What would happen if I did fight?" What trick has Nahida got up her sleeve? Presumably the trick is that of destroying the Gnosis and awakening the Heavenlty Principles as Nahida reveals - although maybe not since later she seems to admit it was a bluff. But perhaps she just doesn't know what would have happened either. Dottore can certainly see this is not the same Nahida he fought before. On that occasion the Traveler was also helping Nahida and she lost. Traveler also helped Nahida beat Scaramouche. So Dottore applies pressure by taking down Traveler first. This ought to leave Nahida deflated and beaten. But instead she's almost laughing at him. What does she know? How can she be this confident? What the hell happened to her? And to make it worse somehow Pierro knew this would happen ahead of time and warned Dottore he couldn't win in a fight.

I've always considered the Archons to be "beings with great power" than actual "Gods" given that they are unable to do many things that one would associate with that authority. Given that Genshin Impact was created by a Chinese Company and that Asian Cultures do not have Deities as Omnipotent as other Cultures around the world, I think the Archons on Teyvat reflect that. It is interesting that the Archons seem to be powered up members of the different races of Teyvat, such as Yokai, Adepti, Wind Spirit, ect by Celestia with no actual Humans so far among the ranks.

tbf , about the archons losing to the abyss, Rukhadevata was more concerned about cleansing Irminsul and Makoto was a relative weakling without Archon level strength. Her 'means' to protect Inazuma was Ei. Who was able to fight of the abyss in Inazuma as well as go to khaenriah and return. Same as Morax. So ehile i do believe all Archons are strong, there seems to be a level between Ei and Morax, and the rest shown. I don't think Capitano is going to Natlan to fught the pyro archon. (While the 1st Descender was in a weakened state????) Are we, as the 4th Descender going to possess such prowess as well??? … the Traveler has told us that a seal was placed upon them, and that they are evidently getting stronger with each element they acquire … when that seal gets ripped off, something crazy is going to happen.

Judging doesn't mean suddenly being able to fight those who he judges, otherwise Neuvillette would be a looney for thinking he can "judge" someone who defeated a stronger version of him (old hydro sovereign) and other 6/7 dragons (7 if the Dragon King Nibelung is not of one nation) at the same time with the power of the abyss buffing them. "Judging" for him simply means to reclaim what was his before not by physical aggression but by "rights" as he is the one who rightfully deserves the authority as the old ruler of this world. This is further confirmed when "judging" Zhongli he wouldn't necessarily give in to physical fight, so he wouldn't even do the same with Venti or Ei. Additionally, getting his authority back didn't seem to increase his actual raw power but simply gave him admin rights over hydro, as he was capable of piercing the goofy space whale without his authority but somehow was still struggling after regaining it, the only thing he did differently was removing the whale from the Primordial Sea, which was a product of his authority.

This is my understanding of the Strength of an Archon: (Disclaimer: I only know the iceberg and may get the information wrong or I interpreted the informations differently so feel feel to critisize my take, not hate) An Archon isn't the same as any God, its a title with benefits such as Authority over a specific element, reign. A Gnosis is a Power Booster, its signifies the connection between the Archons and Celestia. Its made of the remains of the 3rd Descender. A belief/Faith/Worshipping for an Archon turns it into Power for the respective Archons they have belief/faith/worship in. An Archon doesn't equate to as one of the Strongest Gods but are the chosen Survirors in Archon War to be a part of the Seven. Every Archons Strength differs by their raw power, how much ppl has belief in them, and those who uses a Gnosis. I cannot make an accurate estimate on how many of their respective ppl has belief to their Archon since I haven't got a clue to their total population each, However I can guesstimate. (Focalors, Murata, Tsaritsa are excluded) 1. Morax 2. Ei 3. Venti 4. Nahida This ranking only guesstimates the ranking on how much ppl has belief in them. It's not ranked by Raw Strength. Morax has the most believers while Nahida has the lowest believers. (Again, the 3 are excluded) This is just my opinion on things, don't devour me pls.😓 Edit: I too did yap a lot with little to know ans on how strong are the Archons. I cannot make a guesstimation to the Archons current Raw Strength but I was able to guesstimate the Belief. Its not to say that an Archon is weaker than any ordinary God its just that even tho they have full Authority over one element doesn't mean that they are powerful at all times. The reason for my explanation comes from Nahida's and Venti's Story/lore/lines. It seems that they need time to 'recharge' their power but I don't know how long they need to recharge and to me that seems like a big disadvatage to them. If the same recharge applies to the other Archons then they could also be at a disadvantage. And most of the Archons doesn't even have their Gnosis anymore so while that "cursed object" are away from them, they also no longer have a power booster. So in conclusion, I'm putting the time recovery of their power in the estimation, along with the raw power, and the belief power. Its also put into question: Does a Primodial Dragon like Nuevillette has the same disadvantage in terms of power recovery? Also, in Venti's manga, it seems that he's wary of the beings in the Celestia, giving us a hint that Celestia may be powerful than the rest of the Archons.

@@DawitsLookingforEmilia to put simply; An Authority is useless without the 'Power' to weild it, it would just a title without no actual power. So if a Archon is at their weakest or not at their strongest, their Authority over an element would be at the very least not as useful. That's my interpretation on things.

​featless, well she sealed the narwhal but it ain't really a feat. But she does consider neuvillette an equal to her and neuvillette is said to rival the entire human realm which includes archons and gods. So she's pretty strong. Her master surtalogi is even stronger

The Qixing would've lost against Beisht, Osial's wife, if it weren't for Shenhe. Could Shenhe have defeated Osial alone if she was confident she could defeat Beisht alone. That'd mean she's stronger than the whole Qixing and 6 adepti combined.

i beg to differ. if 6 adepti couldnt confidently defeat an ordinary god, what chance would they have against an archon like Ei? I think Osials case shows that if a god is capable of combat, they are some of the most powerful beings in teyvat

@@DawitsLookingforEmilia Well Osial was a sworn enemy for Morax so 6 adepti being able to at least fight relatively with it isnt that bad given that we have much stronger characters(like top 3 harbingers),skirk surtologi hexinzirkel and hell even Scarra was stated to be near the divinity of Rukkhadevatta and would have caused Dottore trouble(who is archon lvl)
