That's probably why Tom Cruise reacted so frightfully when reading the letter (they edited out "Give us your child"), why Nicole Kidman cried in that scene BEFORE they went to the toy store, and why she said they should reproduce after they lose their daughter (so they can replace her and have more currency in that dark world into which they're inducted).

Another thing about the red ball is that, in Western Society, the fruit that is most often used in paintings and other depictions for the one that tempted Eve is a red apple. So it becomes no small wonder that, of all the pool balls, he should be messing around with the one that's roughly apple sized, shaped, and colored.
@momog561522 сағат бұрын
Take a look at the painting behind Alice in the home when she is in the kitchen. It’s another reference to the garden of Eden… a picture of apples. Furthering the theme of Heaven and Hell, good and evil seem to be fighting for Bill’s soul. Just as the two serpent like models try to lead him astray, Mandy, his angel, causes him to be lead upwards away from temptation. She later wears feathers at the party where she warns him (calling from above) and sacrifices herself. Even her last name means “hero.”

The more I watch and think about Eyes Wide Shut the less I care about the conspiracy and the most intrigued I become about what a deeply personal, autobiographical, and loving movie Kubrick made for his last film. It is truly a love letter to his wife and his family, a plead for forgiveness and understanding , and a preoccupation with whether his soul will go to heaven and hell even as an atheist. It reminds me of Scenes from a Marriage, or Husbands and Wives. It’s not surprise he consider Woody Allen for the lead.

Kubrick in an interview discloses he was at a performance put on by a relative where he wasn't suppose to look, but he admits "I peaked". The performance was (as I recall) suppose to essentially be nation-subversive in an occult sense (essentially the advice of Balaam - from the story of Balaam in the bible - if you want a nation to be cursed, you have to make them transgress). IMO the film is subversive to the viewer - it's the same performance Kubrick wasn't suppose to watch. So essentially the film itself is an occult curse or binding on the viewer giving specific access or power or ability to curse to whomever knows how to exploit your transgression.
