Ok I started this video a few days ago, stopped to binge the show and came back to finish the video and it’s honestly not super hard to follow. A lot happens but the pacing wasn’t too fast to understand what’s going on at the moment. I think the video is just a rapid fire of the majority of the events so it might seem a little more like a bunch of crazy stuff happening without leaving time to process.

At the time Taylor and Carter would have been conceived, it was still pretty standard to implant multiple embryos for IFV pregnancies. In 2004 (the first year I could quickly find the data on, but about 6 years *after* Taylor and Carter would have been born) women who had a live birth as a result of IVF had been implanted with an average of 2.5 embryos per cycle, whereas today the guidelines recommend a limit of one embryo per cycle in most cases. It’s still done (see Shane Dawson’s future kids, expected in December), but now it’s usually when parents *want* twins, not in hopes of getting at least one baby out of it. A single IVF embryo can still split into identical twins (about a 1.6% chance nowadays), but you’re far more likely to end up with twins if two embryos are transferred, in which case they’ll be fraternal (unless one embryo didn’t implant successfully or miscarried and the other split)
