Awwww 🩵 This was just lovely. Kelly’s version sounds so dreamlike when she goes soft and airy…ethereal, really. The little breaks in her voice here and there are perfectly timed and add even more to the emotion of the song and its beautiful lyrics. I appreciate that she went smooth and strong and steady as much as she did rather than so breathy and light for the whole song. You explained that as being chest voice . Also, I loved about 8:15 into the video when you were singing your explanation, Hege, and you inserted that clip of Cam and Mitchell from Modern Family, so cute of you and funny to do that! IF you get a chance to watch and hopefully react to What Was I Made For sung and played by Abi Carter for her American Idol audition, she KILLED it and brought tears to my eyes. I second that recommendation! I love Kelly’s version and Abi’s version pretty close to equally! Both are so good! Abi’s has more frills than Kelly’s, but we know that Kelly doesn’t do a lot of frills and doesn’t need to. I do wish she’d do them a little more often though just so people remember that she can. 😂
