I was stationed in Subic 86 to 91. Been to Angeles city about a dozen times during that period. I was in my 20's back then. Know the bar scene very well, partied all the time. 33 years has past, how has it changed since then, especially without the bases?

👍….Cebu is awesome. Great city, generally speaking. The history there is amazing if you’re into that. Magellan…..LapuLapu - both interestingly enough held as heroes by the Filipino people - LapuLapu for standing up to Magellan, who had begun to overstepped his bounds with the natives, and ended up ambushed and killed on the beach there at Mactan Island….. and as you know, for better, or for worse, the majority religion in the Philippines is Catholic, and that was influenced a great deal by Magellan’s “discovery” (if you want to call it that) of the Philippine islands. Although the islands were actually named later for King Philip of Spain. “ Magellans Cross” is there, along with a Memorial to LapuLapu at Mactan Island, and a famous Catholic church, with some sort of infant Jesus grotto…. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but they have some major cultural activities surrounding that. There’s scuba diving outside of Cebu as well if you’re into that.

I’m in the process of moving to the Philippines and your videos are very informative you live in your best life but less stress. I just had a total hip replacement. Before that a bad ankle fracture had to have screw repair. Before that my shoulder done and last spring cataracts on both eyes fixed. Can you get high quality medical care there? Insurance? Medicare doesn’t cover there.

thats why i decided to make the move here before i start to fall apart 👍 medical care here it depends on who snd where.. Clark has some better medical facilities but i would go bk to the States for anything major medical related Ive heard you can add an international clause to your medical insurance so if you have procedures here your insurance will cover it 🤷

For a year and a half, I believe you're doing great here. I have almost 25 years here and have seen many come here, sometimes it works out, other times it does not. You have found a great place here and gone with the Expat market more than the short term tourist site. I would say keep doing what you're doing, you have a good setup here. I enjoy working with you here and doing the rental property stuff with you, and giving you some leads for other interesting videos. One thing maybe you are viewing wrong is the motorbikes, yes that work and get you around, but really not safe. The risks of accidents is too high, robbery is much easier on motorbikes vs cars. I did several years on them, but really now 100% with the cars.

I'm 42, and going to the Philippines, Muntinlupa for 3 months. Just a personal vacation. Still trying to figure out as far as activies goes. I'm a introvert, and I don't drink so no bar scene for me. I am a practicing Buddhist and I see there are several temples in and around Manila I wish to visit. I rented a condo for 3 months there in Muntinlupa ( I have a friend from there from work here in the states ), just found this channel and I enjoyed listening to what you have to say. I probably have a million questions but I'll probably spread them out within other videos. The one question I have is , money exchange, how would I get that done? I have a capital one card, I heard I could get php from arms with my card or do I need to go to a bank?

she goes out very minimal but it’s important for her to be her peer group to socialize 👍 we cook very minimal 😬 Anne working 6 days a week and the mid-day hours only gives us breakfast together 😢

it’s not as bad as i thought it’d be 😁 the cockroaches come out at night but you’ll get used to em unless your renting a cheap place 😬 then youll be overwhelmed by them Ants in your units as well can be alleviated with cleanliness and anti-ant powder outside the openings 👍
