I’ve loved Steve Perry ever since Journey’s first album with him as lead singer and this fantastic song makes me INSTANTLY think of my high school sweetheart whom I dated for 4 years. When we split up, I didn’t fight to keep her. Thought the best thing to do was to let her go because of that saying “If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, they’re yours. If they don’t, they never were.” I was an idiot to go by that saying because I know for a FACT she wanted me to ask her to marry me, but I was an idiot and didn’t ask her in time.
