I was "the quiet kid" in elementary and middle school. The thing about quiet kids is that since we hardly ever talk we do a lot of listening. In class and at lunch I would always hear classmates talking about their lives, gossiping about one another, whispering crushes, and all sorts of weird stuff, since no one really noticed me. Needless to say, I became an information dealer.

I have a feeling quiet kids tend to write, cuz it's my favorite thing to do, i have thousands of note books, I can't even count them. Heard the same from other quiet kids. I always wrote down things in class and no one ever notices. I tried to talk to kids and teachers, but they don't seem to see me at all ;-; my whole family has that problem, but in serious fights etc. we can just walk right through the middle, would'nt be seen and come out fine, that's the good side of it i guess

I was a very loud kid back in my middle school. One time, I didn’t know what gotten in my mind but while it was recess and me and my friends were playing Team Uno, I noticed the quiet kid in my class who doesn’t have a lot of friends due to not having a very good-looking appearance, sitting alone and just watching us play. I then tried to give him attention by asking whether he would want to join when it was my turn (aka when the attention was gathered to me), and he had a pretty damn bright smile and we let him join. The dude was surprisingly good at Uno and started ganking his team. In the 9th grade, he started to tend to be friendlier and more talkative and actually managed to get many friends. Edit: I actually graduated from middle school two years ago and me and the quiet kid went to different school, but yesterday I met him again and he was still a very nice dude albeit not that talkative.

Damn, I’m too socially awkward to even stop talking. I’m an introvert, and I don’t do well with not shutting up, but I get worried that I’ll be hated if I talk to people. Also the last time I made friends with a “quiet kid” they turned out to be obsessive and manipulated me into a heavily abusive relationship I didn’t want to be in. She destroyed my self esteem, made me feel worthless, and threatened me. I was traumatized, and became paranoid, and made no friends out of terror of anyone being the same. Got better, but it’s hard to socialize. Hang in there though, have a great day I hope!

Once the other quiet kid (I say other, because apparently I was also considered a quiet kid) at my school got up in the middle of class, and just left for a bit. When he came back, he was holding a living breathing red chested Robin. He had apparently caught it on a whim. Then the kid walked over to my desk, and handed me the bird. I took it silently, and we just stare at each other for a solid minute before he goes back to his seat. Not a word was exchanged. The teacher tried to chew him out, (Mostly for bringing a creature inside) but he just looked her dead in the eyes without any emotion at all and said: "Cry about it." Edit: To this day, that is still the best memory I've ever had of school.

I'me the "quiet kid" in class. One day I was doing a project in class along with some other classmate and I kept hearing from behind two kids laughing at some jokes. Then all of a sudden the one kid asks me "do you have a picture of my house?" and they were expecting me to get all confused, but with much confidence I responded "yeah" and then they literally stopped laughing and froze there staring at me scared. I actually did have a picture of their house, because I just took a pictue of a tree almost next to their house. They've been scared of me ever since..

I was that quiet kid. This was probably the most terrifying thing I've ever done and it was a complete accident. I was playing a card game during free time in class, senior year high school. I forgot the game, but I know my hand was trash and I lost. I just set down my cards and said "you know what..." I picked up my bookbag and slammed it on the desk and was ABOUT to say "I'm just gonna doodle for a while" as I pull out my notebook... They panicked, leaping the desk to try and pin me down cuz they were afraid of what I was gonna pull outta that bag! They quickly realized I am NOT that kinda maniac and apologized. Needless to say, from that day on, I realized how dangerous silence can be.

This one is kinda sad. There was a girl in my school who was known for being quiet and emotionless to everyone. I was actually probably the only person in the grade who knew what she sounded like because of her being my partner during most school projects. She would always get bullied for being “weird and quiet” by the popular guys and girls but most of the time she would just walk away or say nothing. One day I noticed that she was crying in class, but I didn’t want to bother her while we were in class. Everything was fine until one of the annoying popular guys said loud enough for everyone to hear “why are you so quiet? Your crying in class and you barely talk at all” she then proceededs to stand up and say while sobbing “the reason why I don’t speak at all is not because im quiet, it’s because no one wants to listen.” The class went quiet. She then calmly asks the teacher to see the school counselor and left the room.

Reasons of a kid being quiet: Confidence disorder Mental health issues (going through a bad time at home) Being bullied The new kid Family is poor and they are embarrassed They're not quiet, they just don't want to talk to the person next to them This is why you shouldn't make fun of them. They could be alright with it and they just don't like talking or it could make them worse. You don't know the reason for them being quiet. Think about if you said this to someone who lost a family member and was grieving for them and they get made fun of. I am a quiet kid and it's simply the reason that I don't really see the point in talking when there's nothing to talk about but others may be different.

I wouldve loved a teacher like that when all I could get out of my mouth was "I, uhh, ehh, its " and whispering "I don't know" and being close to crying and/or wetting myself in class and most of the time having to ask to use the bathroom while people are staring at me and even when I get back they want to force me to answer a question that requires more words and they ask me more question that are based one that question till my friends take it for me because I won't answer and eventually get in trouble or they notice I am starting to cry. It was so unfair and made me more scared to answer questions. But I did get way better now but still get scared when I am around 4+ people and at least one isn't my friend, but I can answer questions in class now (but I stutter a lot most of the time) and give presentations (as long as I have one of my friends there) Bye, thanks for reading have a nice day!

I've been considered "the quiet one" a couple times as I'm mostly anxious and don't like to talk. In eighth grade (so around 13-14 years old) science, we had this really chill teacher who did her job well, so I got some decent grades in that class. One time, we had this activity where we had to grab imaginary supplies for a boat. Our teacher mentioned one of the items my group had picked as useless, so I said louder than intended "Shit." The majority of the class gave a laugh and even the teacher let out a chuckle and said, "Is this when I'm supposed to say 'choice of language'?" She was amazing.

I've been shy my entire life, and it developed into crippling social anxiety, so I was definitely the quiet kid. To a point where I had at least one class with more or less the same people going from elementary to high school, and some of them joked about befriending me in case I became a school shooter. Cross that with me always wearing my black jacket with the hood up, winter to summer, hot or cold, to avoid interacting with anyone, my nose always in an Eragon book, and my shoulderbag to top it off, a lot of them were creeped out by me. I rarely talked, but because I was always reading I was the only one in my classes that could pronounce words like Mephistopheles, so my English teacher always had me reading passages from stories to save time. Other than that one class, I almost never talked. This one girl, Abby, in my 11th grade biology class was shocked when I answered a question and commented that she's never heard me talk before in the 8 years we've had classes together. She was surprised at how deep my voice was. She was one of very few that actually knew my name. There was another incident in my science class where this girl names Erin dragged me (literally) into her group of friends because she was tired of me being a loner. Because she was 5'7 and I was 6'1, along with the black jacket, she called me Slenderman. We never hung out, and I've never been to a party, but those two interactions are permanently engrained in my memories because those two girls being nice to me were some of the very few happy moments I had in school. There was another quiet kid that was jacking off under the desk in my other science class during the explanation on how to dissect a frog. That was weird. I'm pretty sure I was the only one that noticed.

Apparently saying “ow” in a calm voice makes people think your either emotionless or a psychopath I was walking close behind someone and they had one of those binders with a handle and stuff. The person was swinging the binder and I got a little to close and they ended up hitting my knee and all I said was “ow”. I'm the same way. Once, a basketball hit me in the head from behind and I hardly noticed until I realized a couple seconds later that my head hurt. I just kept walking and didn't say anything. For a second, I considered saying something, but figured there wasn't a point. Loud noises and jumpscares don't usually make me jump, flinch, or yell either. I guess I'm just a very mellow, calm person, and I don't have the energy to react in a loud or crazy way like some people. I just keep on doing whatever I was doing.

The teacher made all of us in class off the cough give a fun fact and when it was my turn I said a fun fact about decapitated heads (I don't remember where I've heard this) almost word for word: "The weight of a person's head is not equally distributed so holding a decapitated head with one hand is hard and the best way to hold it is on the hair or the mouth." this was in junior highschool she avoided eye contact with me ever since that day and never even bothered me for any recitation but still get a good grade in her class. Also I'm going to visit my old school soon where she is teaching I hope she's still there and still remembers me. Edit: Also there was this one time on our test where she made us put our bags on the front so none can cheat the test was a bit hard mid test I got thirsty and went in front to get my water in my bag she didn't let me but before me it was ok for the other guy so instead I asked to go out so I can drink on the fountain on the ground floor and I did. Later that day my friend told me that the teacher rummage through my stuff and told the class not to tell me nothing was missing. Checked my bag and thank god my glock was still there.

I’m the “quiet kid” or whatever in school generally. In my geometry class my teacher always makes it a point to call on me. I answer very quietly, and unlike a normal teacher, she sits there and keeps saying she can’t hear me until I speak up. There was even one day when she asked the rest of the class if I ever talk during class, and they all answered no. Keep in mind that this teacher has had me for two years now, and I haven’t really said anything for the entire two years I’ve been in her class. If I had the courage I would probably tell her to shut up and that there’s a reason I’m quiet. I hate being called on in class because I have really bad social anxiety, and even a class of 10 students makes me want to sit in a corner and die having to speak in front of them. Not to mention I’m always terrified that I’m going to get the wrong answer.

In fact I think everyone just had "he's always on time for work". And then people began with the usual "but we don't really know anything about you, because you are SO silent" stuff. The kid just sat there looking down at the table. Then he slowly raised his head, nodded a bit and said "perfect." That kid was me - and I made damn sure to say it in the coldest way possible.

I was a quite kid, very few people ever spoke to me. For some reason I always seem to have this cold death glare or a murderous glint in my eyes, at least thats what Iv always been told by a lot of people, one of my friends when I first met them had said “you look like a psychopath! Lets be friends!” he never thought of me as a psychopath but did admit he was scared of me ever being angry since one time, we sat down and he asked me “if they kidnapped me what would you do?” He stared at me and I dont know what look I mustve had on my face as I said “Id go find you no matter the cost then once your safe id go find every last one who laid a finger on you and put them through hell” he backed away from me looking horrified, I blinked and ask him if he was okay, he shuffled back reluctantly and looked up at me nervously “Iv never seen you look so angry-“ he laughed awkwardly “youd be like terminator, no matter how many times they shoot you, youd keep walking” he exhaled shakily and laughed again “im glad your on my side...” Im the kind of person whos never angry, I tend to bottle up all my anger and be constantly smiling and frown when they look away, i only really smile when Im with friends and family. One of my only friends that had seen me get angry once when they got on my nerves I put on a poker face talking monotone, threatened them and called them by what they really were, a manipulative narcissistic self absorbed guilt tripping bastard, they were shocked and terrified, I remember smiling sweetly at them in the end and telling them to leave me alone. They didnt come to school or just tried to dodge me for like a week. Later they acted as if I had just been upset and never meant a word so I went along with it since he was my supposed friend, anytime id put up a poker face or my voice started going monotone he’d get scared No im not a murderer, surprisingly, and Im not a violent person, im only violent if it comes to protecting family and friends and thats if violence is needed

this is something i had stuck in my head for the longest time. it was in freshmen year and there was this quiet girl that no one wanted to be friends with. it was a private school and it was fucked because most kids that were from rich families bullied her and sometimes middle-class kids followed after because everyone was scared of getting on school sponsors' bad side. i heard the quiet girl got in because the government offered a scholarship, she was pretty smart but none of us ever heard a word from her. one day, during gym class while everyone went away to change, the rich kids decided to fuck with her by putting one of their wallets and putting it in her bag. this kid started crying out to the teacher asking them to do a search. the rich kid was a big deal (because school sponsors,) so they did a search, the rich kid's friends were very quick to point a finger at the quiet girl. these kids fucking messed her stuff up and so the wallet fell and someone screamed out they found it. i was pretty shocked "because it would make sense that the poor, quiet girl would steal from the rich kid i just didn't know if she had the guts", were my thoughts before. the teacher was upset and started telling the girl off, she was soon sent to the principal's office and face the consequences. the girl picked her stuff up and had her head down before leaving the room she glared at everyone and that stare was forever engraved to my very soul before saying in her small, frail voice, "you're all going to regret this." kleptomania was extremely frowned upon in our school and could lead to expulsion, which is to no surprise she got expelled. after about three weeks, i heard that she took her life. everyone was so mortified. the people that bullied her, most of all. soon after, i learned that it was all a stupid prank and i felt more horrible because all i ever did was stand there and watch. i did however told this to to the principal and the teachers, none of them even blinked. didn't do anything. i asked my parents to move away and after a year, we did. yet i still remember her.

I used to be the quiet kid. I rarely ever talked. People started calling me "The Shadow" because whenever people were in the bathroom near my classes' room, I was in the corner of it. When I was in the cafeteria, I sat by myself. When it was the end of the day and everyone was packed up and all ready to go, I sat in the outskirts of the room, with my "death stare" on my face in every encounter. I was the "quiet kid" in middle school. I was a very depressed kid, after years of being bullied and being made fun of in 8th grade I snapped, I just screamed at everyone. That day the school called the police thinking I would shoot up the school ( note: I have zero access to guns or weapons, they did this because I had a mental breakdown) my life was almost ruined forever. I wasn't expelled and the case in court was dropped so I have no criminal record but after that I had trust issues and I was never the same ( the people who called the police on me I would vent to and cry around constantly I never ever in my life thought they would call the police on me) So thanks middle school now I have trust issues, my depression is way worse, fear venting to my own therapist due to the people I thought I could trust turned one, and now I am so traumatized by it I constantly bring it up 4 years later I think I have PTSD from it but I don't know for sure..

The strangest thing the quiet kid did at my school was sing that "Hey There Delia" song. Her name was Delia. She just jumped up from her chair when someone said her name (she was smart so they probably wanted answers or something) and she just busted out singing. I was a quiet kid and was friends with another quiet kid during Junior High. At some point he muttered that he liked rice krispies and there was a cart selling snacks outside the cafeteria. They were like 1.50 for the bigger ones so I bought him one often since I was that kind of kid who would spoil someone with something they like. After a really bad day he had I bought him 3 krispies while saying I didn't know how to make him feel better but that I would stay with him under the stairs until he felt okay enough to go home. He ate the krispies and told me if he ever wanted to shoot up the school he'd definitely leave me alone and that he liked me. I was scared at that moment but didn't say anything about it to the teachers since he was my only friend at the time. He never did it and is actually in a healthier mindset, but I'll never forget what he said, It felt like that scene in Joker where the only guy that was nice to him begged joker not to kill him, and he said that he wouldn't since the guy never did anything to him. Felt the same energy of that scene from that day.

I was in my class with my brother. there was this unusually quiet girl who had never talked , she would only answer teacher questions and things important. It was a thursday the day it happened, And we were in class and there was quite alot of birds outside. The quiet girl quickly put her head up in shock as she saw the birds. I looked at her confused, because she seemed so scared. She then proceeded to shout out, NOTE, SHE NEVER EVER SHOUTED OR ANYTHING, She shouted out "THE BIRDS ARE GONNA KILL US ALL!!". Being a quiet kid in primary school, i sometimes witnessed weird things. I kinda waved between two situations, either being avoided by everyone else because it seemed very odd to them, or not being cared about AT ALL. That second one led to e.g. people literally telling eachother secrets or spilling the tea about a friend right in front of me, like i wasn't there. I guess i just seemed like an object to them lol

So I sat next to the quiet girl in spanish class a couple days ago for no reason, and she was next to one of her friends. Her friend was much cooler than her, she was super social, and really likeable. That day, she sat at her desk but much louder than usual. She was obviously sad, and she immediately put her head down once she was ready. Her friend asked her "Is something wrong?" Then there's just an awkward silence, and they quiet girl says "I want more friends." That moment broke my heart, but I stayed silent and continued my work. "What do you mean you have me and (Insert random name)" That's when tears started to run down the quiet girls face, and she said, "I don't have any real friends. The only reason people talk to me is thanks to you." AANNDD another awkward silence. Soon enough, everyone was staring at her while she cried, and the teacher took her and calmed her down, then she went to the office cause she couldn't control herself. I was heart brocken.

Another story: There was this punk kid who I was forced to sit by and one day I walk into class and his friend is sitting in my seat. I point for him to get out of my seat and he does so. The punk decided to say (very loudly might I add) "Oh don't be such a baby" as I set my bag down. So I proceeded to look over at him and say "The only baby I see in this class... Is you" very angrily. The whole class heard (It was a fairly small class of 14 students) And they went dead silent. I couple kids went "ooo sh*t". I just sat down and ignored him the rest of class. Unfortunately, I had to deal with him all school year and he annoyed me the whole way through. So it became regular that I'd give him snarky comments for his dumb actions.

I used to be the quiet kid in high school. During my U.S. History class this one girl would ALWAYS be on the phone shouting or raising her hand specifically to ask an off topic question. One day the teacher is doing his thing and she asked a dumb off topic question. Fed up with her he asks: "are you just playing dumb or?" When I was a senior in high school one of my most common bullies was the “popular girl” and she’d torment me for being quiet. When Halloween came, her boyfriend was throwing a party. I attended uninvited, and I was only comfortable since I was going as ghost face. I wore platform boots, which raised me up a solid 5 inches. I’m chilling in the backyard near the snack bar where the popular girl comes and hits on me, trying to take me to bed. I wasn't necessarily the "quiet kid" but I wasn't very social. However, I carried around a notebook that I (seemingly) never wrote in and happened to be black. Now, being a fan of Death Note, I used this to my advantage. One day, when the kid who would constantly push my buttons was being a jerk to me again, I just casually opened my notebook and wrote down his name before checking my watch and then just walked off. My story as a quiet kid: When I was going to my last school day to get my school report I had to experience a fight between two girls. Reason for the fight was that an another girl made an intrigue which lead to the fight between this two girls. The cat fight become more and more aggressive and at some point I lost my temper and yell: GOD DAMN SHUT YOUR DAMN GOB YOU TWO! The whole class was totally shocked because they know me as a kind and calm guy. Anyway the two girls get her cool back but the others was now cowed. The teacher said then to me "My, I didn't know that you could be so in rage!". Later one of the girls came to me and said "I'm so sorry." and made puppy eyes to me. After that I feeled so sorry for my behavior and said "Don't worry I'm sorry too. I didn't want to make you afraid" But don't worry in the end there's a happy end. One of the girls found out that an another girl was fault for their bad blood. The two girls became friends again and third girl didn't bother them anymore. It was very funny xD

One day me and some other friends were trying to get him to talk and he just ignored us. Someone asked him what was in his backpack and if there was a gun in it. The quiet kid answered and said "Don't make me use it" Of course we were joking and we all awkwardly laughed until he started reaching into his backpack 😓
