Actually it's probably easier for the SB era. To find the worst game from that old era you have to closely compare the stats of those 73 0-0 ties, plus probably quite a few other low scoring non-ties to find the worst. It would probably take a lot less effort to put together a list of worst SB era games just because there isn't a huge group of 73+ bad games all with the same or basically the same score to have to compare.

Going into the video, I was kind of expecting the same. But the more I thought about it, I can see why Steelers-Dolphins '07 didn't make the list. Don't get me wrong, it was a bad game, but it was also memorably bad. I'd compare it to "The Room" or one of the more popular installments of Mystery Science Theater 3000 - you knew it was bad, but there were qualities to that game that just made you keep watching: A competent team struggling on their own notoriously poor quality home field, the other team desperately trying to get a win and the elements. And all that came together to make it a memorably bad game. The ones in this list are just bad and not even particularly memorable.

Upon hearing the Hackett score the game that instantly came to mind was South Dakota state Vs Iowa. Despite not being an NFL football it surpasses the Hackett scale even at the college level. What's even better than scoring a 7 point TD? Scoring 7 points via two safeties and a FG off a botched punt no less.

My friend and I had a rule about spoiling Bills games since we both had DVRs. He didn't want to watch a game where they lost by more than a touchdown, but would slog through a one-score loss. I called him at the end of Browns/Bills 2009 and he was far enough behind that the game was still looking interesting. I told him to just stop there. I don't know where it fits in terms of the numbers but there was a game in 2008 between the Eagles and Bengals that made me want to pull out my own eyeballs. The game ended in a 13-13 tie. The one where Donovan McNabb admitted that he didn't know it was possible for an NFL game to end in a tie. The teams went a combined 7-38 on 3rd downs. There were 11 three and outs, including 5 straight at the end of regulation. They averaged less than 3.5 yards per play and gained only 114 rushing yards on 48 total attempts. The thing I remember most about this game was feeling like they could've played until eternity and the score wouldn't have changed. The Eagles and Bengals play each other once every four years and they've somehow tied TWICE since 2008.

Jets Cardinals 2012. 7-6 Jets win. I will never forget going to this game. Cardinals first half drives: Punt, Turnover on downs (couldn't convert 4th and 1), Punt, Punt, Punt, Interception, Punt, Field Goal. 4 of the Cardinals 5 punts followed a 3 and out. Jets first half drives: Interception, Missed makeable FG, Interception, Punt (3 and out), Interception, Missed FG (off upright), Punt 3-0 Cardinals at halftime. Jets start w the ball second half. Jets Punt, Cards Punt, Jets Punt, Cards Punt, Jets Punt, Cardinals Punt. ONE FIRST DOWN WAS PICKED UP IN THESE TEN UNWATCHABLE MINUTES OF FOOTBALL. Mark Sanchez gets benched. Jets have a TD drive featuring 9 runs and then a 1 yard passing TD by Greg McElroy. Cardinals 3 & out, Jets fumble, Cardinals FG, Jets 3 and out, Cardinals 3 and out. Jets lead a run-only drive (maybeeee 1 pass) for 8 minutes to finish the game and take knees in Cards redzone.

The many turnovers did make this game exciting. Jets had 4 bad turnovers and Cards only got 6 points off of that. Fans were chanting for a 6th round unknown dude to enter the game. And Rex Ryan eventually listened. It was actually a fun time but WOW was that some bad pro football.

There was another 6-3 involving the Browns two years later when they just eked out a win against the Seahawks. Marshawn missed the game with injury as did Tavaris Jackson meaning it was a battle of the Charlie Whitehurst Hawks against the Colt McCoy Browns. Whitehurst averaged 3.2 yards per attempt while McCoy averaged 5.1. That's a Hackett. Jon Ryan punted 7 times while Brad Maynard punted 5. There were three field goals made and 5 attempted. So not only were there more punts than kicks made, one punter had more punts than FGS ATTEMPTED. That might be a Hackett and a half. Final score was 6-3. That's a Hackett. There were no touchdowns, but if you want a perspective on just how bad this game was, the Seahawks lone field goal of the day came from 4th and 2... at their opponent's two yard line. They took a 20 yard field goal over trying to get two yards for a touchdown. Not sure if that's a Hackett, maybe that's a McCarthy. And for turnovers, there were three. One interception for both QBs and a fumble lost for Whitehurst. Though it is worth mentioning that the Seahawks did also block a field goal, so if you really wanted to, you could take a Hackett away here. I say any Hackett lost is gained back for the game's only touchdown, a punt return, being called back for an "Illegal Block Above the Waist" like seriously, who calls that? That's at least three Hacketts, I would go so far as to say four or five but I'm no scientist.

2007 Dolphins vs Steelers is one of the worst games I have ever seen, as the Steelers incompetence started when they laid down the turf and the turf wouldn't drain and the field was a flooded mess as a result of torrential downpours. The highlight of the game was when a punt managed to get stuck inside the turf without bouncing.

In Superbowl LIII: Tom Brady and Jared Goff combined for 6.7 yards/attempt(narrowly missing a Hacket), there were 14 punts and only 3 field goals and a touchdown (earning a Hacket), the final score was 16 total points (earning another Hacket), the sole touchdown was a 2 yard run(earning another Hacket), and there were only 2 turnovers(earning the final Hacket). 4/5 Hackets but I think it should have another Hacket for being the superbowl and falling so flat.

The worst - meaning most boring or uninspiring - game I have ever watched as a Ravens fan was Ravens @ Chiefs in 2012. Using your scale it scores a respectable 4 Hacketts (the only metric saving it from a perfect score is both QBs slightly above 6 yards per attempt - if you said 7 yards it would be a 5-Hackett game). May be hard to imagine today, but back then the Chiefs were a seriously bad team. The same time the Ravens were supposed to be good, after all, this was the season they won the Super Bowl. Still, this was a thoroughly ungodly and unwatchable excuse for a game where the Ravens were lucky enough to win 9 to 6. It was the purest agony.

The worst game I've ever watched (On TV, not in person, thankfully) was Seahawks versus Cardinals 2016 (the week 7 game). Final score: 6-6. The most exciting thing to happen all game was when Bobby Wagner hurdled the line and blocked a field goal. The second-most exciting was when Bobby Wagner hurdled the line and forced the kicker to miss. The NFL banned hurdling the line the following season, indirectly because of this game. That's right. The only interesting things to happen all game were immediately banned.
