I prefer ludwig for content and blah blah blah, he's a lot more 'extroverted' so he can pull off these big things with loads of other top streamers, while atrioc cant, he's sort of stuck like a barnacle to ludwig but yea, aside from all that, atrioc is a lot funnier and 'cooler' of a person unless youre literally 12 yrs old and have no adult experience/humour (not that ludwigs content is shitty for kids, but more enjoyable for them than boomer atrioc would be lmfao)

7:55 it is roughly the same scale of the halo franchise, just a larger gap, but the ratio is still roughly the same. Halo increased by roughly 16,667% in value, whereas ESPN scaled at 17,773%. Each number (both buy price and profits received) is roughly 6.2 times higher in ESPN than in Bungie, therefore not drastically switching the percent increase in value.

It has been 3 years since this came out and I didnt notice this. For the ESPN one, it is quite a large number, but not necessarily as big of a percent difference as the halo one nearly was. 188 mil times 10 is 1.8 bil, so it would be in the range of about 170 times the amount invested. However, with Bungie, 30 mil times 10 is only 300 mil, so it would actually be near exactly 166 times the amount invested. So while the amount of money invested is vastly different, the %ROI is around the same comparatively. Granted, at such high levels of investment, 400 extra percent means 750 mil or so, soooo😂

The Bungie point gets even bigger for Microsoft when you realize what they did. Halo was originally going to be Mac only (Bungie was a Mac developer). Steve Jobs was personally interested it in and brought Halo along to a few different Apple events to promote gaming on Mac. Jobs was actually huge on gaming and was going to do a big push along with their new OS X. Then Microsoft bought Bungie, and Jobs became so jaded with gaming that he effectively stopped promoting it altogether. This is something they still haven't actively come back from and it's nearly 25 years later. So imagine if Halo launched only on Mac. Would it have been as big as it was on Xbox? Heck no. But I bet Apple would've seen a significant uptick in sales and might've even broken the 10% market share barrier (maybe even 20%). Microsoft buying Bungie really hurt Apple's potential growth.

The ESPN purchase vs current value scale is actually a *smaller* % increase than the Bungie purchase vs current value scale. Bungie increased just over 166x in value and ESPN increased just barely *under* 166x in value. So Bungie was actually the better buy - especially because, while he did talk about it, none of Atrioc's numbers consider the entire long term value that purchase provided to MS across multiple console generations.
