Taking that thing apart, reminds me of rebuilding starters and alternators back a few moons ago. That thing sure was a mess inside. Thanks for sharing will be watching for the next video for the update. Take care

Trying to fix some thing and breaking it more than it was already broken. I have never done anything that before, multiple times.😁

Very interesting video Erik. I would suggest cleaning the commutator (copper "fingers" where the brushes make contact with the armature) with an emery cloth to clean up copper for a better electrical connection. Need to make sure that the abrasive does not get embedded into the copper. Make sure to clean between the contacts also. Good luck. Dave

Did that fix it? I got 27 hours on my 2020 LT 40 and today was sawing for a pole barn I’m building and all of a sudden the hydraulic stopped working. Shined up the copper power strip, checked with multimeter, power from battery to solenoid working, power going to the motor, but hydraulic motor doesn’t start. Everything works on the mill except for the hydraulic.

It would, yes, but I was in a hurry and got a new motor and have the old as a spare. In your case, I'd check the actuator in the hydraulics box. I'd not think it's the motor yet, not at least for 500 plus hours.

@@TheOldJarhead the actuator in the hydraulic box seems to be setting off the solenoid when I hit any of the levers..did the solenoid test too and its working..12 volts …..charging the battery up was down to 60 percent…maybe the battery?..it’s like 4 years old now.

@Settlingintoalaskaliving Good chance. Was the engine running? I never run my hydraulics without it except maybe once or twice. Those motors draw a lot of power.
@Settlingintoalaskaliving4 ай бұрын
@@TheOldJarhead No the gas engine was not running and perhaps I’m running the hydraulics too much while the engine is off.

Ahhh, yes, that can do it. Check the battery but also call WM tech support (out here we call WM in Oregon) as they can help. I did this video and some othere on testing as it could be a few things, but unless the motor was faulty, no way, it should be bad with just a few hours on it 😉
