That's your point! What a worst... I believe that being open 24hrs services... Someone being vandist on a trains like this; Griffiti, under the seat break key to open then break inside things in system and slide door being sticky inside things there. Is very hard to believe to find there is passenger are doing abuse of behaviour on the train at Fridays and Saturdays...

Make sure will safe place way home and if there any vandist, they will get arrest by police guard will them. Keep on the train runs to moving at all times. NOT be lack overall, otherwise, there will be strike to be action affect the trains is very few... Be careful!

Huh! R U a DLR train?
@SportyMabamba2 жыл бұрын
Jubilee has TBTC signalling like on the Northern Line. CBTC signalling is rolling out on the Sub-Surface lines ATO is: 1) an umbrella term for trains which drive themselves. 2) the descriptor for half the driving system: the other half is the ATP which watch-dogs the ATO system. 3) the name for the signalling on the Central & Victoria lines.
@transportflick9235 жыл бұрын
It sounds like they have reduced the acceleration intensity on the Jubilee Line now. I wonder if it’s to prevent other trains developing this issue or if it’s because less trains are running, so they can take their time more.

Its not really a safety issue, if there was a "breakaway" the emergency brakes would apply to both "halves" of the train and the line would be shut down for hours while they removed it.
@techandtrains1015 жыл бұрын
True, I was just simplifying and phrasing from the TFL email and could have done better, if it happened during a peak I'd imagine a lot of crowded trains in the area would end up stalled with people stuck on them which obvs poses it's own risks, not to mention the PR nightmare once the daily rags get hold of it. Huge fan and long time reader of your works btw, glad to see you here.

I was on a jubilee line train between Finchley Road and Waterloo the day before they had severe delays. The train just didn’t sound right. It had a strange metal flange sound, which I’ve never heard on any underground train, even when leaving stations and speeding down through tunnels. I just got some strange feeling about it. Tonight some more have gone back out of service, as well as earlier issues with trains on the Waterloo and City Line. Lots of the S Stocks on the circle line seem to be failing too. It’s not going well for LU.
@dominicfindlay5 жыл бұрын

Confused. Why would the imminent failure of a coupling between 2 cars of a train, render that WHOLE train unfit for service? Surely one just removes the affected car from service, thereby reducing the capacity of the one affected train by 1/7th. With 8 suspect/failed couplings that should reduce the fleet capacity by 8/7ths of ONE train, spread over several trains. total loss of capacity about 8/434 = less than 2 percent?
@techandtrains1015 жыл бұрын
Because of the distribution of equipment between the cars, how trackside assets such as the platform edge doors are set up and also likely the way the ATO signaling system is set up it is not possible to run a train in a six car formation, not to mention that some of the eight trains affected could conceivably be the units exclusively built in 2005 which presumably could have the issue on multiple cars.
@ASLEFshrugged5 жыл бұрын
As Techandtrains said, the PEDs wouldn't open for a 6-car train, if they did then three sets of doors at the back would be open onto the track plus one door would open next to the rear cab door.
@J9VRoffical5 жыл бұрын
And it wouldn’t only affect the PEDS, the track also contains axel counters. If a short train goes through it confuses the system and can close the track. Also the trains are set up to run as 7 car trains so depending on what carriage was removed it would affect the trains circuits.
@rahan5734 жыл бұрын
I don't these these trains were designed to have ATO operation so it's likely to cause wear and tear to these couplers since the ATO on the Jubilee is super rough on these trains. I wonder if the couplers on the Northern line follow the same state or not but it's if it's not then it's likely the ATO on Northern line train have treated the trains same way drivers did. Well that's my opinion on it.

@@sanjayvijayanathan5038 Yep, they're still around. It isn't always so easy to just get parts for old models though even if the company that made them is still around. It's often the case they'll shut down fabrication for parts and spares and be unable to re-fire it up without great expense. You see this quite a lot with military kit like aircraft. They just scavenge parts from decommissioned vehicles until eventually they run out and have to replace the whole thing with something new, unless its something they can reproduce with relative ease.

@TalesOfWar3 жыл бұрын
72 stock is fine, but it's not overly comfortable. It'll be nice when the new stuff with AC and regenerative braking comes into service. The issue with these things is they weren't really designed for the way they're being used right now, and it's mostly just a single part that's having the problems.
@Psevdonim1233 жыл бұрын
@@TalesOfWar AC is not really possible on deep tube. There is just not enough air vents for the output of AC. Regenerative braking is a nice thing, but where is the guarantee that it will be used enough to justify that? I just think that 72 (and 73) stock should still be run for a while, until someone can build a proper train reliable enough to cope with Piccadilly line and Bakerloo extension to Hayes without any constructive damage
@TalesOfWar3 жыл бұрын
@@Psevdonim123 The majority of the heat generated by the trains is by the braking, so regenerative braking along with all the other efficiencies of better electronics, motors, materials science etc will result in less heat being output even using AC. The heat on the platforms is easier to deal with than in the tunnels, but the new more efficient stock will help with the tunnel side of things. You really need to do both at the same time for the best effects.
