The preacher at my church loves to have the little ones in service. No one even bats an eye anymore when he walks out into the congregation and picks up a baby and goes back to preaching. The babies always calm right down once he picks them up. He says the sounds of children in a service is proof that the church is alive.

Lynette, I don’t know you and I’ve only ever left a comment or two on here and Instagram, but this video hit me squarely in my heart. The whole thing was my favorite, but my favorite FAVORITE was watching precious Oaklynn setting out the silverware. She put A LOT of thought into that, she took her task seriously, and when she wasn’t sure she made a decision and walked away satisfied. THAT tells you everything you need to know about that baby. She makes decisions with confidence. Fantastic job, mom and dad! ❤❤❤

When my son was maybe 3-4, I always felt like neither of us had gotten anything out of the service. And felt, like you, that I was "wrangling" him the whole time. But one time we were listening to a radio program and they were talking about a story from the book of Acts. And he said, "Hey...this is what we're studying on Sunday nights!" I decided it was worth it and we WERE getting something out of it!

Hearing the family of God raising their voices in worship is such a beautiful sound! Like a glimpse of heaven! Thank you so much for sharing! I remember the days of having my babies with me in church. It could be a challenge to stay focused but I still cherish those chaotic early days when they were little. I felt a kinship with Mary, knowing she held Jesus on her knee at worship, too. Y'all are giving your children a firm foundation in the Lord & that is so wonderful & important! Savor these days when they are little. My girls are 22, 17 & 14-feels like I blinked & they are grown! Thank you again for sharing your Sunday with us. God bless y'all!!!🙏🏼❤️

Hi Lynn, you are certainly a busy girl but you are such a wonderful wife and mother, God Bless you and your beautiful family. I never realized how long your hair is and I have to say you are simply so pretty. I admire the way you take care of your home and your kiddo's and have the Lord in your life. I always brought my children to Church when they were younger and those are some of the best memories I have of their childhood. At the time, my husband worked for Publix and had to work on Sunday's so he was not able to attend Church with us so we starting going on Saturday evenings which worked out nice for us as a family. I always enjoy your video's and I have to tell you that your new home is decorated so lovely. All the best to you and your family. 💖

Like others mentioned, ‘haystacks’ in my area are a sweet-salty treat. Upper Midwest (Michigan) here, so we fall into potluck/casserole territory. 😁 Butterscotch chips, chopped peanuts, and either potato sticks or crunchy chow mein noodles. Cheered by the congregational singing - I love singing the songs of our faith, especially with other believers. The joy of the Lord is our strength - keep pressing on!

Take advantage of as much exposure to church and it's activities as you can while the kids are young. Those are my sweetest memories growing up in a Christian family. No matter what happens, for a season, when they grow up, NO ONE can take that foundation away. They can ALWAYS fall back on it. So, YES, it's worth it!!!!! Just make sure it's ALWAYS a positive experience...nothing they can blame later on!!!! 😉 ❤

Growing up in an Anabaptist church, we went at 10 a.m., which had a Sunday school for the kids. Then I went home to eat lunch and went back for afternoon service at 3 pm(same as morning but no sunday school). Then he went home for dinner and came back for song service at 7 pm. Sang for 1.5 hours and had a "short" reading and service. By now, it's 9pm. Most people had many children, and we slept on the floor many times. Plus, half of the services were in Hungarian or serbian, and I only spoke Hungarian. But I wouldn't trade any of it. Sundays were and still are the best. We have changed it a bit, we now have song service right after the afternoon service, and it's only 1 hour and no more serbian or Hungarian.

Lynette, I appreciate you so much! I love the way you are raising your little ones, and it just touched my heart so much to hear the congregational singing at your church. The haystacks look so good! I am going to have to make them for my family. I think we would all like them. I also love that your church allows the children to stay in the main sanctuary. More lessons are caught than taught, and I learned through raising our son that he picked up a LOT from hearing the preaching when I thought he was just playing on the floor and not listening. The Word of God was sinking in, and it shows now that he is older. I know it is hard to press through, but one day, your kids will look back on this foundation you are building and will appreciate their Godly mama who persevered through so much to raise them in the fear of the Lord. It is such a blessing that you share your life here. May the Lord richly bless you and always keep you close to His side. I hope you never change.🙏

As a Mennonite who grew up Mennonite, left the church, attended other churches that had children’s church or kids ministry, and now being back at a Mennonite church, it is such a blessing to have our children in the church service with us. Children are listening a lot more than we think they are and they learn a lot from the sermon. I believe they also benefit greatly from singing with the adults. Hymns especially stick with children throughout their lifetime. All this does not mean having children in the church service isn’t hard, it is, but it is very good for the children even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time. You’re doing great!

Thanks for show your Sunday routine 😊 My church, Seventh Day Adventist, is also known for partaking of haystacks frequently. Ours is usually a base of Fritos, then beans (with chili powder, cumin etc...), cheese, shredded lettuce (because it resembles hay), tomatoes, onions, black olives, avocado, salsa, sour cream (and I like to put cilantro on mine). It is commonly served at our church potlucks and everyone builds their own "haystack" most using a lot of lettuce (it then resembles a haystack).

Absolutely loved this video and miss those family church Sundays. It is so tempting to not go through the work to get everyone ready and sit the service while caring for the younger ones. I was raised like this and my husband and I looked forward to taking our children to church every Sunday. However, in that toddler stage it is difficult. Just remind yourself these children will treasure these days forever in their hearts. It helps to build their character and their willingness to serve. It is worth it in the end. I also appreciate how the whole family helps with preparing for dinner. Teach them young as they say. Your a wonderful wife, homemaker, mom and provide lots of inspiration to us all.

Loved the video! Children at church is wonderful! Our Paster always says it’s a joyful sound to hear little ones in church! Remember they are the future church! I can’t believe how Harper is growing and almost walking! You have the most beautiful family! I love tuning in to your channel! I’m going to have to try the haystacks. Those I’ve had when I was younger were just the meat mixture shredded cheese and Fritos. Yours look so much better!❤

I enjoy all your content , but this one reminded me of myself when my children were small. I would do some of the same things you were doing on Sunday mornings. I had 3 little girls to get ready for Sunday school and prepare for our dinner. Sundays are long, but so worth it to teach them all about God. You are a great momma. I see you had a special little helper to set the table. She was awesome ❤Also, I buy Walnut Creek products as much as possible in our local area.

I love hearing your church congregational singing! I think your children 1 & 4 look alike and 2 & 3 look alike. I made some bars just this week similar to the ones you made except my layer was chocolate chips & sweetened condensed milk. So Good! I live in Ohio, but on the southwestern side. We can get some Walnut Creek products at a local farmers market store in the spring & summer through fall. Blessings!!!

When my kids were that age I would bring cheerios with me for them to snack on. I was the church organist and my husband sang in the choir so I had a lot of helpers to watch my kids!

I appreciate your honesty with little ones and church. I have a 2 year old boy and I've always been very involved in helping with the music ministry at our church and my husband helps a lot, but our son is very clingy right now to both of us and so that makes it hard to feel sometimes like it's worth it, but like you said, I know that it is. It's just nice to know I'm not the only one that feels that way, I honestly feel like I'm not doing a very good job of it sometimes because of how hard it can be to keep him settled, but we keep doing the best we can and trust he'll grow out of a lot of it and get used to it eventually. Hard to know since he is our first, I just try to get advice or tips where I can. I was Yoder before I married and I am from Lancaster county PA with Amish and Mennonite relatives, but I did not grow up either way. I appreciate your channel and I LOVE Walnut Creek products, especially their maple glazed cinnamon rolls! 😋 I usually get them at a discount Mennonite run store in our area called Glenwood foods. Thanks for again for your honesty and encouragement ☺️
