Thank you so much! An interesting question for sure... To be honest, for us it is mostly around the cost (as we fund & organise all tournaments ourselves), so we look for tournaments that have cheapest flights, AirBnbs, no rental car needed etc!

Really interesting. You guys eat very healthily. For me before and after a badminton session, I take BCAA and B complex with minerals (very low doses) and it helps my muscle and joint recovery.

You two do such a great job at explaining and showing everything. 👍 I am using a shake which is about 50% proteins and 50% carbohydrates and I supplement it with a separate creatine shake after weight training. I noticed you are not taking any supplements beside multivitamins during the day. I thought creatine has been shown to be very effective. What do you think about it?

Do you know what sort of %age body fat you are? Also, when doing weight work, its recommended to take on board proteins within 30 mins of training. Bearing in mind the minor muscle repair going on after training, is it advisable to have protein as well in your post practice snack ?

You don’t need to snack to get energy. The food you eat doesn’t turn into energy for about 10 hours. Snacking is bad as it increases insulin. Few, bigger meals are better.

Quite surprised by your caffeine intake, I personally avoid coffee before a badminton game: I tends to get anxious and heart goes beating faster on court and losing coordination a little. Just admiration, I believe coffee is a great beverage if your body can withstand the side effect, because coffee is part of most people's life.

Drink more water and also replace your salts lost through sweating! Electrolyte drinks can help with this!

Thank God you guys cooked with chicken thighs and not breast! All the health freaks out there probably screaming at this video because you cooked with thighs instead of breast. I much prefer thighs as it has got alot more flavour and not as dried as breast. Imho, I'm not worried about the fat that I can see...it is the 'hidden' fat that I'm worried about eg fat in process food etc etc. Eating 'real' and 'whole' food is key. I'm amazed that Greg only eats that and can still play at a very high level. Especially playing/training twice per day. I don't think I'd make it out the front door. 😯😅 The SIS drink is definitely a must though 👍. High5 works best for me. How tall is Greg (I'm guessing 5'8") and how much does he weigh (in Kg) please? I think I heard 72 or 74kg somewhere. I've struggled with what to eat, for years. Hopefully this might point me in the right direction.

I find that if I'm having a serious session of badminton during the day , I avoid coffee as it reduces my wrist /grip strength by about 10%

@@BadmintonInsight I can tell when I'm playing that the smashes are crispier ,clears are better,especially back hand clears, when i have stayed off the morning coffee and gone over tea instead and cut down the number of teas in a day too.Too much sugar during the day plays havoc with my control too(unexpected out hits).
