Hi I am having a 3 months old alexandrine. I got it when it was 25 days old. But he is not drinking water still. We are forcing and feeding him water. But he spits it out. But he is eating all food and he is active too. What should I do to make him drink water?

Hi unfortunately there’s no way to tell until the ring around the neck come through or doesn’t come through a few years later. However we did read somewhere that females have smaller rounded heads and males have larger squarer heads. When Hapi was small we guessed his gender that way, but we were only sure when the ring came through. Hope that helps.

Hi i have 20wks old alexandrine. 1 have him for 2 weeks now but hes never make any noise at all and tried to get him out his cage and he just got scared and flew everywhere.since then i've never tried letting him out the cage. What advice can you give me please?

Hi give him time to get used to the environment and talk to him from a far. After a few days try and treat him to build some trust. All a trust building exercise. Overtime he will be comfortable enough to come out.

No. We had a large one for him, there were a few problems so the breeder told us to get a smaller cage.

If he not hand feed this is completely self feed and also he is biting some time.

My understanding is that it is 3 years. This is via research and speaking to the vet. Even if it is a girl it’s ok we are happy 😀

If you don't feel comfortable then I'm sure you can feed him other stuff. As obvious as it sounds, make sure to keep his food/water bowl clean and wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly! We are so glad to hear your bird is fine now! : )
