The emotional intelligence on display in this episode is inspiring. Loved every little sensitive bit of it! ❤

Taryn, I feel you so hard about the empathy shutting down and the “I’m sorry”meaning that the other person is correct about my intentions. I have had to learn to TRY and start my response with “I am so sorry I hurt your feelings, can I tell you what I actually meant so that you’ll understand where I’m coming from also?” That has helped. I think it makes us both feel heard. But I still struggle with things like physical touch when there’s a fight happening too. Related to this a LOT!

T out here learning unconditional love, going in for a hug despite the current moment feelings! Way to go!! Thank you so much for sharing y’all, you da best :) Also, Karli ✨ Relationship Therapist on TT did a whole series on difficult apologies, it has been such a great resource
@sarahtee542210 ай бұрын
i’m similar to t and i cannot give physical touch in a fight without it making my blood boil and i feel completely unnatural but our therapist said the expectation my partner has doesn’t supersede my feeling of not wanting to but obviously when i can do that to try and move closer to resolving then obviously it will be most effective to my partner to encourage them to start moving toward resolution as well. i think it’s a little unfair to say it’s learning unconditional love because the love doesn’t go away in a fight and the expression of love doesn’t have to even happen within a fight if it’s not something you can do effectively when triggered or upset.

I totally relate to the passive family vs. Direct family… I’m from a very west coast family and my fiancée is from a very east coast family and I’ve noticed that’s it’s almost a cultural difference between us and something that we work through. Totally relate to Taryn on this one but I see both sides!

I absolutely love the hype about Armenians in the beginning of the podcast being that I am one!! Made me giggle and it’s all very true!! Also if you ever need jewelry always go to an Armenian jeweler they all know what they’re doing and a lot of Armenians are in the business!

My ring is Neil Lane from Kays. I’ve also sent my ring in many times due to the smaller diamonds falling out. They’ve worked with us really well. However, I will say that I attribute them working us to the most wonderful owner Cindy. I think some rings will fail no matter where you get it unfortunately.

I was already a patreon for the feet-pic albums, but the real spicy tea on Becky-gate is a nice bonus.... 😄 9 out of 10 fights with my ex started with her being hangry, even if I was wrong, making her a sandwich or giving her a chocolate ended them, and then we could be constructive again and find a solution

I agree about Armenian neighbors they are literally the best people alive. Them and Palestinians. So kind and so generous and so helpful. It’s so sad that both of these countries have been so exploited and damaged and are currently going through it by israel and azerbaïdjan. It’s enraging that our tax money is harming them that much. Also humbling how after all theyve been through and how they had to leave their countries and all the unfairness they have endured, they are still so kind and so generous. Always always speak up for them , let’s be there for each other and stand together. 🇦🇲🇵🇸 ❤️✌🏽

Cam and I share birthdays and I feel like we share most personality traits as well, I find myself often relating to her more than Taryn on certain things and leaning more towards a type A personality and the OCD cleaning/organization is SO real for me too, so maybe it is a Pisces thing as well as a Virgo thing lmao
