Back in the day when I was driving some stops would make me turn in my keys and wait in a drivers area to avoid this from happening.Great job Mr. Hal. can't wait to see the new truck in action.👍👍

OMG. That's what that dock lock & Green/Red lights are for. To help secure the trailer to the dock & hopefully keep the driver from pulling away while forklift is in trailer. I see the green flashing light at the dock & in the description of the video, it says driver was repositioning trailer in the dock which meant he might not been centered all the way. Failure to communicate led to this disaster. Glad nobody was hurt. Both Mr. Hal and Mr. Wilbert worked together insuring a flawless recovery. Goes to show two heads are better than 1. Great teamwork.

Great job and that would have been a 1st for me to have to pick a forklift that actually had a pallet of product still on the forks and still in the trailer. Luckily ive only had recover them from bad situations on flatbed/step deck style out in the open with no product on the forks. Makes for a good time when there is ice 🧊 and snow ❄ since that is usually the cause for the recovery 😂

Some drivers pull away because they wake up from their sleep and think theyre running late and take off. Others pull away because they dont hear movement in their trailer and they think they have finished the unloading. I tell drivers, once you dock don't pull away unless I tell you that yiu are done and give you your signed paperwork. Some have even dragged the trailer with glad hand lock on it.

It seems like the truck pulled away from dock while it was being unloaded. Glad hand locks, chock blocks, dock red/ green lights, trailer grabbers are safeties to prevent that. Home Depot even have tractors disconnect from trailers, pull drivers out of cab, lock their keeys in a lock box and make them wait in the break room.

Saw it happen when I worked for a cargo airline. Fork had last pallet on it and was backing off the truck when the driver drove away. Just very lucky the fork was in the dock plate when it happened and the fork driver hit the brakes when the dock plate collapsed. We used other forks and straps to drag it back into the warehouse. Fork driver had to go home he was so shook up. Don’t think truck drive ever knew what happened. Just noticed that it appears they have trailer locks on those docks. Should have used them. It would have prevented this. Need to have a come to Jesus meeting with the fork lift drivers and dock personnel about that.
