Now things Really arent fair or Equal for us poor one man Teams... It was Already un fair because of shocks , Running water cooled engines against air cooled engines etc now brakes . You basically have to be Rich to even own or order a new competitive legend car ..not to mention the fiberglass dosent hold up long on dirt . Ill probaly be selling mine soon and hoping back into a late model or something 🤷

I’ll still compete where I can, but I’m not sure with the continuing rise in cost for everything on these cars, I’m not sure how long we’ll last. We’ll see though!

I mean you have a head start with running your water cooled engine and weight advantage against the air cooled engines. Just because new stuff is being released, doesn't mean you have to buy it. The afco shocks are still debatable. Haven't seen the advantage yet. Or if there is one no has talked about it yet. I'm still seeing fresh rebuild air cooled engines hang and beat the water cooled engines in cases. Given the water cooled engines have a weight advantage which is significant given these cars are 12xx lbs with driver.

I do agree the disc brakes will probably be better for safety and consistency. I don't know how much the rule change for spacing will affect overall geometry (which is imo significant) if lighter than drums, just means eat more or add some lead.

@@zachariahbrady454 as far as I can tell, the geometry isn’t changing. But that’s only because I’m assuming the spacer that comes with the brake kit has the same thickness as the current backing plate. And if the rotor face is the same thickness as the drum face is when on the car, then theoretically the geometry would be the same. The main advantage to the fz/mt’s comes after lap 30 for the most part. The 1250 has more torque and a better power band compared to the 09’s, it just starts to get heat soaked after running hard for a handful of laps. I’ve noticed that the Afco’s here shave off time when they aren’t leaking. But like you said, most of the quick guys are quick because they have the talent and driver mod that some of us don’t have yet (like me lol).
