As a Sporting fan, 5 years of RA, for me nothing is new, but I am very excited to see MU play their football It is played simply, 1, 2 touches, attracts opponents, opens spaces, if it has not opened back, patience, loss of ball, pressure 5.6 seconds, they have not recovered they go back (hence the exercise of running backwards, as if it were in a transition of the opponent) teamwork Explanation to Mainoo , simple, positioning and directed way to receive the ball , the supports , if you receive the ball already facing the side it is simpler and you gain thousandths of a second that are important , know where the teammates will be , ugarte in the back , the central defenders always available It will be nice to see Sporting Cheers

It’s going to allow Rasmus Højlund to concentrate on being a goalscorer. It may even bring on Rashford, who has too often been double marked on the wing and not able to use his speed and finishing. Zirkzee may see more minutes as a 10 rather than the focal point. I think the main takeaway is they aren’t looking for the forwards in his system to come looking for the ball. The rest of the team is being tasked with finding them in their positions. It’s going to be massive for Højlund to be able to make runs and shoot from the penalty spot. As diligent a worker as he has been in holding up play to involve the wingers in the last 18 months, he’ll be able to use his running rather than his strength in holding off big centre-backs. Goals are coming.

Top Work AJ. I wouldn't read too much into the personnel as only 11 first team players were available. But interesting to see Antony as RWB, Malacia LWB, Yoro and Shaw either side of Evans. Mount looked good in IF position too. Hope they can stay fit. Intriguing to see if they're involved Vs Ipswich purely due to having more time in this system. Hope Yoro is at least on bench. It'll be interesting to see how the others adapt when they return from international break. I'm hopeful that some of the similar playing principles you described are utilised in this system.

How, refreshing to see a manager/head coach taking a session and coaching the players. It will be interesting to see how the players respond, will they buy into the concept or ignore it like they did with Rangnick? I also found it interesting that he was drilling them to RUN back to get into a defensive shape, (I'm not convinced that Marcus will be thrilled at having to actually run back to defend). PS It looks as though Mason Mount may have found a roll at United, as one of the inside forwards (#10s)

1:48 you forget that closing down a pass to mount or amad will open up lanes between Mainoo and mount this shape seems to force players to constantly choose between two passing lanes to cover because of the crazy number of triangles it produces. It could mean less high balls through the air to progress the ball when the players get used to the new system. I just hope this new system produces more crosses and more oppotunities for Højlund :)

I'm very curious to see how Antony does under Amorim, his problem is that he has essentially not end product, his shot from outside the box is basically a pass to the goalie and he never really crossed much cause we didnt have men in the box, but as a wingback I feel like his work rate and intensity could actually work quite well.

Ngl. I find it difficult to be excited about Amorim. Sounds like we've talked about these same points before under ETH. We only ever seem to stick to these tactics and formations for half a game or 2 before reverting back to a chaotic style of football. The miracle he'll have to make is getting the team to play in a good consistent manner/style for 3 games in a row, which i honeslty cant remember the last time we managed such.

5 of this 11 was unavailable since ten Hag started the season, and we wondered where was the balance, at the same time, question will remain how many of these players will stay fit and turn sharp enough to start in coming days, I hope we see rotations in the squad, otherwise the likes of Dalot, Mazraoui, Bruno, Ugarte, Hojlund, Garna, the real runners of the team will be out of steam mid way because others didn't step up in the season.

What we learned? That the players bought into the system in order to please the manager. How long will it last? 6-8 months? Longer or shorter than under ETH?
@vitorc3
@vitorc3 Ай бұрын
players buying into the system with a new head coach almost always happens. if they start winning there's no reason for them to turn against the system. plus, Amorin is not very patient, in terms of lack of effort, if he sees players slacking, he has no issue putting youth players playing, like he did at sporting.

@vitorc3

@@inthegutterstaringathestars ETH didnt really implement structure, a philosophy. he wanted players to run to give it their all but with no real structure or end goal. the players most of the times were running, just to run, with no purpose. there was no structure, and we never were in a position to say we are improving year after year. Amorin as an idea as a style and an end goal. players are still going to be asked to run and give it their all but with a purpose behind it. i think thats the key thing
@inthegutterstaringathestars
@inthegutterstaringathestars Ай бұрын
@@vitorc3 ETH made plenty of mistakes for you to pick apart, why do fans feel the need to lie in order to score points? Yes he did have a structure. His midifeld was designed to be similar to Liverpool and Man City. Sit in, be disciplined and win the ball back. His striker was meant to initiate the press and then the rest of the team was press the space in order to keep the opposition pinned back. HIs wingers would cut inside, working as decoys so that the full backs could get free shots at goal. Yet you want to claim there was no structure, no purpose in the running? Just because the players did not carry it out effectively after the first seasons. Utd was not in a postiion of improving year after year because some of the players gave up because they did not want to run anymore.
@vitorc3
@vitorc3 Ай бұрын
@@inthegutterstaringathestars after 600 million spent in the 2ish seasons, again, with no improvement on performances, the structure was not there, if you are insisting on the same thing for 3 years and they still look as lost as they did the first season. that means that there was no structure. i am sure ETH was trying something, but you could not see that in games. Bruno would be running all over the place, hojlund was constantly with his back to the goal and the wingers were nowhere to be found, our defense was easily beaten, all of this with 2 full seasons of preparation. it's very hard for players to continue to run and run and run when nothing is coming together. now, i know this coach, i have hated him for 4 years now because i am a Porto fan and if there is one thing he is good at is, implementing a structure to play from. that is his main thing. it's not the running it's not the intensity, it's the structure, the style of play. with that structure and style, the intensity and the running are almost a symptom. the way he builds his team almost forces the players to have to give it their all because the tactic is very individually oriented and forces the player to not want to be that guy to let the team down.
