I am arriving next week for my 7th trip to Marriott's Grand Chateau. It is very classy, and I love it! I don't remember the units being of a smaller size. That's why we picked Grand Chateau over the Jockey Club with Bellaggio Fountains views. Amenities at Grand Chateau are amazing. Proximity to Planet Hollywood, stores, and restaurants, is fabulous. It is Marriott quality, and it is something that is easy to acquire via an Interval International timeshare exchange. You don't have to own Marriott points to obtain a reservation. I can't wait to arrive, and I know that I will be putting in another I.I. trade to return. A++++

We were just at Elara a month ago, and loved it. Especially being attached to the Miracle Mile Mall, super convienient. We went to a Metallica concert behind Mandalay Bay, and there were so many people waiting for a Taxi, that we beat many of them by just walking back.

Yeah, Elara looked great and nice to be directly connected to the Miracle Mile Shops. Walking is certainly an easier way to get around. Thanks for watching!

We have been staying at Elara rather the Grand Chateau for a couple of reasons. First, it’s a little more convenient since it’s attached to PH. Second, Hilton just doesn’t have the locations MVC has, so there’s a lot more opportunity to reserve within the Marriott system than within Hiltons system, so we exchange Grand Chateau for other locations and use Hilton to stay in Vegas

@@dougstimesharetravels9378 We were pitched a 3 night vacation and timeshare presentation through Hilton Honors, and ended closing on a resale purchase 10 days before arrival, so this was actually our first stay with HGVC. I knew that Hilton had a more tempting program than presentations we'd been through in the past, so a little damage control. We live 3 hours south of Las Vegas, so there will be no problem using our points each year. This year we're doing 4 week nights in Waikiki, followed by 3 nights in Kauai (Wyndham timeshare using hotel points), and 4 weeknights in Myrtle Beach. Since we primarily vacation by cruising, we figured this would help us diversify, stack onto trips we're already taking, and perhaps pick up a last call from RCI occasionally. Unless you're crazy about Disney, I think Hilton and Marriott are the way to go. We're more loyal to Hilton these days, and have the Hilton Aspire credit card, so it only made sense. I wouldn't mind a reasonable offer for access Diamond properties, just for Sedona alone. Otherwise, quality is definitely below Hilton's.

@@thejokerspeaks Hilton Grand Vacations are notorious for their high dues/maintenance fees like $8,000 bi-annualy. Obviously, buying resale is way cheaper than buying direct, but the dues are so high. Were you able to negotiate lower dues on your HGVC membership?
@thejokerspeaks
@thejokerspeaks 2 жыл бұрын
@@emailuser8668 That's only true if someone has a very large contract bi-annually. Hilton and Wyndham are amongst the cheapest on maintenance fees vs the value in redemption. So I am paying $1,153 per year, with club dues. Add $59 per reservation, and I am paying $2,542 bi-annually. That's for 4 weeknights nights in Waikiki in the summer, 4 weeknights in Myrtle Beach in October, 1 weekend in Las Vegas in February, 4 weeknights in Orlando in May. I still have $80 in points leftover. $2,462 / 14 nights = $176 per night in a 1-bedroom. Waikiki alone would have cost close to $1,400 just for a 3 star indie hotel.

Grand Chateau is my favorite time share in Vegas to stay at. For someone new booking a villa at this property, if they are not aware of the size difference between the original tower and the newer tower rooms you will definitely lose out. I always book the 3 bedroom facing Planet Hollywood and the strip. My family and I love it. Tip....always ask for a room in the original tower

Good information on the villa size difference. Seems odd that towers that are almost the same would have different sized villas in them. Ours was pretty small, but the studio seemed great. If we ever go back, we will request tower 1. Thank for watching!

I'm surprised about the size of the villas since most rooms in Vegas are huge! Great video! I was curios to what this place was like!

Yeah, they were a little disappointing but when we have a two bedroom for just the two of us, I guess we can't complain.

They’ve actually added the plexiglass around the top of the 38th floor since the last time we were there. I suppose it’s for insurance purposes, same as the no balconies. Interestingly, Polo Towers, a soon to be HVC timeshare, has always had small balconies with every room. We love the location on the south end of the strip. At one time we owned two weeks at Polo Towers and one week at Grand Chateau plus one week on the north end of the strip at HGVC LV Strip. Vegas has changed over the years and has become an expensive vacation. We no longer spend 4+ weeks per year there. For the last 10 years we’ve exchange our Grand Chateau unit and deeded back our Polo Towers units. We still use our HGVC ownership to spend a few nights in Vegas, but not necessarily every year.

Yeah, we found Las Vegas to be a very expensive place to visit. Strangely, it seemed more expensive than Disney. That is saying a lot! Thanks for checking out the video Doug!

Is it hard to get to the cosmo from this resort
@DestinationTimeshare
@DestinationTimeshare Ай бұрын
It's actually quite easy. You can take the sidewalk down Harmon and go up one to the overhead walkway that goes over toward Planet Hollywood then take the other walkway over Las Vegas Blvd to the Cosmo.

I was at Jockey Club in December 2020. It was decent. No balcony. Cheap valet. Close to strip.
