We stayed the last two days of our split stay last month at the Poly. The only thing we were missing was a dresser so we could fully unpack, but we promptly forgot about that while watching fireworks from bed. 🤷

That’ll do it! We’ve never sprung for the lake view, so we haven’t had that experience yet, but it’s definitely on our list!

Yes the Polynesian Studios are the best Studios and they also happen to be the best rooms (outside of the Bungalows) at the Polynesian in the best themed buildings in the resort

I think Polynesian is the DVC resort that we’ve stayed at the most. It never gets old.

Love the Poly, we have a small contract there but stay a lot more often because it has decent availability at the 7 month mark. The larger studio is a huge bonus. The lamp is the best. We always have to be goofballs and get our lei's when we arrive.

We're the same! We have a smaller contract there, but since availability is generally good, we're able to stay there more often. It's going to be interesting to see how it is after they finish the new tower.

Really special. I like these rooms very much. They're among my favorites with Riviera and GF Resort Studios. I guess I'd put Saratoga's rooms in the top 4 as well. I love the blue and tawny brown. My big gripe with AKV is the lack of color and textiles. I've heard if you have a group on the large size, two Poly studios is a good alternative to a two bedroom elsewhere.

This is my home resort as well. First stay is in December but taking my Sister and her 4 year old, so 5 total. My only concern seems to be lack of drawers or other storage for that many people. Maybe the Tower will be ready by then and I can book a 1 bedroom 🙂

It's true that this studio doesn't have as much of that type of storage. We don't use drawers anyway, so it's perfect for us. There are some low shelves in the closet and pretty good sized drawers in both bathrooms.

Hi Jen! I have two DVC questions. 1. if I use a “one week stay at my favorite DVC resort hotel” point total as a way to guide me for how many points I should buy as a new DVC member on a new contract, is there a chance that -years from now- Disney could increase the point requirement for that one week stay at that one hotel and then I do not have enough points all of a sudden? Hope that makes sense. 2. Also, as a DVC member, could a stay be booked with points AND dollars? For instance, what happens if I wish to book a stay that I do not have enough points for. …Could I use those points and then ask Disney for the balance in dollars that I will then pay to them? How does that work? Thank you!

Hi there! To answer your questions... 1) Yes, DVC can reallocate the points at the resort to account for changes in demand for certain weeks of the year. While they CAN move the points around to different seasons, they CANNOT change the total number of points for the resort. Generally speaking, you don't see huge variations in points needed for certain dates. They might adjust them say 10% up or down, but not usually a huge amount. Most dates for our recurring DVC stays are constant throughout the years. 2) You cannot combine points and money, but you CAN buy "one time use points". You can purchase up to 24 of these points at $20 each. These can be purchased by calling DVC Member Services and they allow you to purchase a few extra points to complete a reservation if you're just a few points short (if you're 7 months or less out from the check-in date).
