Couldn't read a single license plate. Since that's one of the main features of a dash cam (to catch hit-and-run drivers or use it in a court of law where you can prove who was that car) this is a difficult review to understand.

Such a bummer about the lack of WiFi and no app compatibility. That is a HUGE step back especially in this day and age where more and more people are ditching their home computers. I was sold on this camera until you said that. Now it’s the U100 instead.

I think the x1000 is better because you don’t rely on WiFi connectivity issues @ uploads and bugs within the app. iPhone user I just bought the lighting sd card reader and save the video to my phone and send it via email to court basis or attached to Facebook etc.

I want this because there's no app. I hate everything needing a password. I hate everything having cloud storage that can be accessed overseas.

I still love my Q800 Pro. It more solid. Just wish on WiFi connection it would be faster.

Love mine too, just transferring the file takes a few minutes.

@@joseignaciorivas468 usually through WiFi. If there are a lot I need to look through then I will pop out the micro SD card use the USB micro SD adapter that came with it and plug it into the USB to go cable into my phone which is fairly quick. I just hate trying to get the card out of the unit.

Can you do a video or recommend a brand for external mounting (on side mirrors) toward rear for recording? Product that can withstand the elements? Are we at the point yet for external use? Thx

So ur telling me basically that the Dashcam will drain my car battery during "Parking Mode" if I don't use the battery pack which is another $200?

No, it is just recommended. However, you would still need the dash cam's hardwire kit in order to get parking moe with voltage cutoff protection.

Why won't thinkware sell the QXD mega 4 channel in the US/Can? At minimum why not sell the external side cameras available in Europe and have them compatible q800 pro? I would be more than happy to buy an additional q800 pro front unit and 2 side cameras to replace the 2 small rear ones. I think it's a missed opportunity

Which unit would you say is better the X1000 or A129 plus (front camera only)? Is the A129 plus the same as the A129duo just includes the rear camera ? I’m trying to decide on these, it seems a lot of Viofo owners don’t get more than 1-2years before their camera fails or has issues. This X1000 looks really good. Any advise?

Can you take a look at Xiaomi's offerings? I heard good things about the Mai70 pro but I'm hesitant, dashcams are really expensive so I want to make the right choice.

I'm in AZ I would never use the parking mode directly with my car battery, why I use the external battery pack. Batteries don't last as long because of the extreme heat.

@@JediSwordMasters I use. Ceolink. It's under my seat but I have it hard wired into my fuse box on a acc fuse. Charges the entire unit in 30 minutes, compared to 1hr if I plug it into the cigarette port. Never had an issue with heat. Also comes with an app so you can see the charge left in it. You also have the ability to add another ceolink to it. I'm in AZ so I know hot.

My parking mode recording videos they don't save in parking incidents or parking record. They all go to continues
