I discovered that breeding livestock can be somewhat "influenced" as to gender of the offspring, so it would make sense that Jacob recognized/discovered something along the same lines. I took a course in Artificial Insemination of goats, and then applied those principles (without using AI) to achieve a higher success rate in getting female offspring than male offspring, as much as 65% females to 35% males. This is VERY profitable in specific types of livestock, especially rare ones. All I did was recognize that the moment of conception was a crucial step in to (1) the gender being determined by moment of conception in the dam/ewe/doe during her cycle and (2) how "spent" the buck was, his quality of (ahem) "output" is weaker when breeding several does at the same time. How did I discover this? At the beginning of breeding season, many single bucks were produced. That means the buck was breeding the does as soon as they came into a breeding heat - probably a few hours. Later, the buck is trying to keep up with more does and he is "spread out" over more, and that means less semen, and fewer times breeding - and that resulted in more twin does being born. Actually this is just simple science. And Jacob understood it! It's simply understanding the strength of weakness of genes; spotted/speckled qualities are probably recessive, whereas solid colors (especially black) were probably dominant. So this principle is also seen in female/male ratio; it's all based on the time and conditions at conception. Add to that . . . the branches can affect alkalinity/acidic conditions in the doe/ewe body and THAT has a lot to do with the conception process as well! To anybody that TRIES to understand how it happens, it should be obvious. BTW, I double proved it the next year by controlling WHEN the buck got to breed the does - I waited until the does were almost out of heat and then let the buck breed them ONCE and returned them to separation. Most flock owners are lazy and let the buck run with the does 24/7. And that's why they end up with 50/50 females to males in the offspring. This is easy to prove - anybody with 50 goats and 1 buck can prove it. Just takes time, management, and facilities.

Woah!!! Done a Bible study on this tonight at home! Holy Spirit outpouring or what! No coincidence there! “And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods. And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭30‬:‭37‬-‭38‬ ‭KJV‬‬ (These two verses really made me think! My initial thought was “alchemy”… and how did Jacob know the poplar etc increases fertility?) I thank the Lord for bringing our studies together! Your understanding has really helped me to have a wider view.

🙏, very eye opening Preachings and I love attending Bible study coz I need to learn more so it's a submissive request to you sir, to teach Preach from this Genesis 31 upto Revelation Bible study and that will be our best time's in the Lord for this year's and do notify me of the follow-up Bible study coz it becomes crystal clear when you Preach Verse by Verse which is very easy to understand than from all that confusing as well misinterpreting so called Christian utuber's , at first their teaching's like they're from the real Bible believers but after sometime they will be teaching using NIV etc, or for money and fame .

One "trick" would be that there would be solid colored sheep with a copy of the recessive gene. If the dominant gene is represented by "R" and the recessive gene is "r", than a solid color sheep could have RR or Rr or rR, and the speckled or ring straked would have rr gene pairs (one gene each from the father and the mother). If the solid vs speckled and solid vs ringstraked genes are separate then there is two sets of possibilities, but I will not cover that here. If one parent has RR, then all offspring will be solid colored. If both parents have Rr or rR, then 1/4 of the offspring will have RR, 1/2 will have Rr or rR and 1/4 will have rr gene pairs. So 3/4 will be solid colored and 1/4 not, but 3/4 of the offspring will have the chance of passing on the recessive r gene to half of their offspring. So the first generation of Jacob's cattle would have SOME spotted/ring straked. If only these males were allowed to breed with the stronger ewes, over several years (I believe the time period was 7 years for this hire as opposed to him working for his wives), the number of recessive genes would be increased over time, especially with fertility boosters.
