@RobertHall-mq7ze3 ай бұрын
@@SnapsCFB_ Appreciate the insight from a rival but good QB. You know from playing the game, it doesn't break down like that when you're in the pocket with huge dudes coming at you. Playing QB is more instinctual, especially when things break down, and that's when the great separates from the good. To sum it up, some dudes have what it takes, and some don't.

after my frustration ended and looking at the film/game. Hank (like Aaron said) was just crazy good defense. Defender turned as it was released. (Great option just better defense.) The overthrow on the crossing was a good choice just got away from him. The curl was the only bad option tbh. Give hank time to adjust and I think they'll be solid

I really like the breakdowns…. Alot of these mistakes seem correctable… that said, seeing upper classmen making freshman mistakes is troubling… where the line of coachability and habits is what these coaches get paid to decide and act on it…. Personally, I’d rather go with youth going forward and live with the mistakes for now with the steps to improvement in place. Jmo

I still have nightmares from the comeback you led against my Tigers in 2013. We all remember the ending but that was one of the most amazing comebacks. Ya'll were down 20 points with less than 10 minutes to go in the game and you engineered 21 unanswered points in a little over 8 minutes. Would love to see a breakdown of the 4th qtr. @pickesc3 ай бұрын
I think the better question is now that you are behind the eight ball on making a bowl game how long does it take for you to get Hank to where he's not making those mistakes? How many more games can you sacrifice a W for getting a young QB experience? A freshman is going make a first time start in Jordan Hare for Oklahoma. That doesnt usually work out well. Can one of these QBs play a clean game against a defense that is starting to look like a Brent Venables defense? Bowl games get you extra practices to work with young QBs. Turning a season around and getting win keeps your recruiting momentum and qualms fears and negative recruiting. I think the approach needs to be play the guy who you trust a lil more to get to 6 wins and worry about next year when you aren't fighting for bowl eligibility in year two. Hank ain't leaving but other guys might not buy in if you start him again and the results are the same. Thorne is gone next year no matter what.

On the double deep cross, at 7:19, you can see the cross is open and their cover man is lost on the bottom of the screen looking lost. But the pocket had just collapsed because of a failure at LG, so he wasn't able to target the open WR and had to scramble for yards

I've been collecting data for about 10 years on SEC teams (used to write for Track em Tigers before that site went offline), and Auburn's this year are actually not too bad - top third in the league on both offense and defense. Not excusing the turnovers, but it's not so much a coaching/player ability or quality of players as far as I can see. Cancel whatever snake-bite curse the team is under and I'm thinking OU, UGA and Bama ought not to overlook the Tigers.

Honestly if this team wants any chance of winning 6 games I actually think they should roll with Thorne and just give up on trying to be a big time passing team. Roll with the game plan they deployed against Bama and Georgia last season. The defense has been solid despite being given short fields all season plus this team is one of the tops in yards per rush in the nation. Play keep away, teach the RBs to hold onto the ball and don’t give the QBs chances to turn it over.
@robenalexander23873 ай бұрын
Start Walker White. Give him a chance. Actual dual threat and as an a Ark fan, I want to see the Ark kid get a chance. He should’ve been given the chance already after both those guys didn’t play well. Thorne did ok in the second half after taking over. Freeze went from first to second and back to first string.
