Justin Pate recommends to leave it on for the flat areas which is exactly what I did. If you go watch the video you'll see. Here's the link in case you missed where he says this at 5:45 kzbin.info/www/bejne/eomQo61rm655pq8

She would break her ankle on one of those damn things. Lol She wasn’t talking about the liner part. 4 cars deep in this stuff and I can tell you she is right. Missed the part where he said to glass. Running fingers to the edge is not glassing. Most of that hazing was on your part when you would heat it and pull it away from a spot that was already laid n stuck. Plus doing a review on a product that has been pulled for issues a month ago is a no no.
@CKWraps6 жыл бұрын
@@fsmautorestyling9552 so the random adhesive build up has something to do with heat? Heat wasn't used when that happened. Also how about the permanent impressions left by something sitting on the film? Only time this occurs on any film is when magnets are left on it. Also what about the marks that are approximately 1"-2" long and run in different directions when the cap was left on during that part of the install which is recommended to be done? I think there are more important issues to be addressed here than just the color fade. The results of what this film looks like are instantaneous and it should never have hit the market. That's negligence
@fsmautorestyling95526 жыл бұрын
CK Wraps I can agree with it that it did drop to early. Way to early. The marks that go in different direction are from un even squeegee stroke pressures. Use heat and squeegee them out. You have to go over it with a round of heat and a wrap glove after you get done doing the install. Wrapsesh channel goes over this step in detail on a four runner. The glue dots I have no clue what you did to get those. Wasn’t an issue for us. As for the comment below. I did upload one of the videos on to my page. It’s not a review but it’s cheetwrap. Gloss grey Supra.

I WOUNDER if the markets you said look like crakes were caused from pulling with the protective cap still on knowing the cap has very little to no stretch!! It may be forcing pressure markes in the vinyl !! But really the finish just looks sketchy all around! Thanks for another great video Christian. Before watching your video, I just finished using gloss black Cheetah Wrap on a boat color change and had exactly the same problems with the random markings and shift in color. I also left the clear protective layer in place for the large flat areas. I couldn't believe the inconsistency in the final finish after removal. Just to be clear, I watched Justin's video, and installed the product as directed. I wont use it again. While the product is very easy to install, the finish is lacking, and the need for 100% post heating is just too time consuming. I much prefer Avery for a low tack film.

What does the pattern on the air release look like? Seems waaaay too sensitive during and after install. I'm thinking their air release isn't perfected yet, like you said, doesn't seem to level off, almost like the air release doesn't "smash" evenly. The initial tac is great! But pointless if the result is that volatile to weight on top of film, discoloration in the finish, and scuffing. Very curious to see it in a week or so. Thanks to you and camera man for the vid.

@CK Wraps Did you ever do a followup video on this. Not about the issues you mentioned per-say but just about the durability of the adhesive and such? Also have you done any other videos using Cheetahwraps? Maybe the other styles like @@UCKY1c84hd1Y9r3G0v26GCBg said in his comment below. We have installed the Satin Nardo Gray on a WRX that seemed lay out well. The front bumper and spoiler were a pain in the neck but I doubt that its the film..... and probably the shape and our inexperience. But I'd be curious to see what your thoughts were on the Satin product. Thanks again for all you do. We appreciate the real world information and instructions you provide.

I'd agree that this film needs a different technique. As professional installers we should be able to adjust to the material specific properties. Adhesive speckles/dots: come from dragging the material over the hood. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWXdZY14gp6Ja80 Indentation: I wouldn't leave a bottle on the hood anyway. Mattening out: Utilizing more film to stretch over the corner, 4-5 inch vs. only 1 inch, keeps down stretching under 10%.
