@abdul wakeel that's not true at all. Please refer to this channel, he just spoke of Kanem. In addition, later on, West Africa had the Mali, Ghana and Songhai empires, the Oyo Kingdom, Dahomey, the Benin Empire etc. The city of Benin used fractal designs in their urban planning, had great walls and some of the first public Street lights. In southern Africa (these are south eastern), Great Zimbabwe's Shona people built large finely carved sculptures and strong stone city walls and settlements. Similar structures were found in Mozambique. What are you talking about?

I really want to thank you. I'm Sudanese and have learned a lot from your videos about the ancestors. We body-bagged the persians, dog-walked the Romans, conquered Egypt, potentially saved Judaism by protecting the jews from the Assyrians, were known as the "pupil smiters", and built some cool ass temples and pyramids along the way. I asked my father if he knew any of this, and he told me that they only discussed Taharqa briefly in his school and then started history of our people from the arrival of Islam in Sudan. Currently, my people have an identity crisis. A lot of people identify as Arabs while neglecting our African roots. This identity crisis led to the division of our country (Sudan & South Sudan). It would be really useful in resolving our identity crisis if the educational system regarding our people's history was reformed to shed more light on our ancient history. It could help in establishing a more tolerant society.

I am absolutely loving your videos and appreciate how much attention to the small details you put into things. I've been looking for years to find more information on African history and its people. Finding history outside of Egypt and Nubia has been difficult, to say the least. The African History classes I took in college barely touched on anything outside of those areas or anything not relating to slavery. I can walk into the local library and put my hands on books about the Germanic Tribes I am descended from quicker than I can anything relating to African history.

It's important to know that an African sister breastfed the prophet (pbuh) and thus his surrogate mom was an African. On top of that when early Muslims were persecuted in Arabia they fled to modern Etthiopia to find refuge. And the king there was an orthodox Christian by the name of NEJAS (Negus: Kendrick Lamar knows ). This shows that early Muslims (it's important to Islam is not an ethnicity or a culture but a religion ) furthermore Bilal is the founder of the Islamic prayer with inspiration from God. It's important to that Bilal is one the first humans to enter paradise according to the prophet (pbuh). As an African and A Muslim it's important to know and understand early Islam and its diversity. You would surprised by how important Black people are in the founding and continuation of Islam.

FLAMES2.0 True, you’re absolutely right, I admittedly forget absolutely yet other countries and continents at times 😂 Its very interesting ho science says theism is very natural and compatible with the human brain and mind, in fact atheists scientists have gone as far as to say “Hunans are born theistic” and that it’s impossible for someone to be an atheist, and considering things like objective morality, and evil, I think it to be rather obvious that there is a Transcendent Creator, in this trend to hate on religion by some westerners they are missing the point, however if a religion is true its kinds not just a religion anymore.

According to Sheik Bilal Assad who has a KZbin Video about the subject, the first woman to ever lay hands on Prophet Muhammad was a woman called Barakah..She was the Ethiopian woman who delivered Prophet Muhammad at his birth. Barakah lived in the household of Prophet Muhammad's Mother. Prophet Muhammad lost his father before he was born and lost his mother when he was 6 years old. He was raised by his uncle Al Mutalib bur the woman who did all of the motherly duties and cared for him like her own son was Barakah. With all due respect, my brother. I must ask you have you traveled to Africa and what is now called, Middle East (Northeast Africa)? I am an African American woman, and lived in the Middle East for over 4 years. I traveled to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Egypt. During that time, when a local spoke to me, 85% of the time, I was spoken to in Arabic first, and in 1 case, an Emirati ask me a question, and I answered back in English. He seem shock and responded in broken English, "You not Emirati?" I love history but I have learnt that being among the people tells a far different story...the story of how Black men & women traveled in and out of so called Africa and became tribes, ethnic groups and nations with different beliefs along with languages. I learnt so much about history just traveling (17+ countries). In the city of Madina, Saudi Arabia there is a beautiful big white mosque named after Bilal....yet there are people still wondering if he was a 'slave' or not. How unfortunate that the color of a person skin is still more important than his or her contributions in history...peace 🌺

Another excellent vid thanks. Might be worth mentioning that Prophet Muhammad (s) did not come into contact with only one African. He had many companions who were Africans. Bilal was just one. He called Baraka Umm Ayman "My mother after my mother". He said about her son Usama: "He is the most beloved of all people to me". He considered Sa'd bin Aswad & Julaybib to be worthy of marrying into Arab aristocracy. He praised the King of Abyssinia as a "Just King" of faith & sent many of his family & closest companions to live in Abyssinia. Prophet Muhammad's legacy is preserved in his final sermon where he informed everyone "All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood."

Bilal was an Arab. His father, Rabah, was an enslaved Arab. His mother was an enslaved Ethiopian princess. Because Arab society was patrilineal, he is an Arab. Many, many Arabs had foreign mothers, but until today, so long as their patrilineage is Arabic, they are also considered Arab. There is, in fact, an entire book about Arabs with Ethiopian mothers in the Quraish, the tribe of Prophet Muhammad.

I have to say this, The Axumites today are the Tigray people in Northern region of Ethiopia. The Agaw are the Amhara people, located also in the Northern, and partially Central region of Ethiopia. They are known as Abyssinians. Also, refer to themselves as Habesha. The Central, Western, Eastern, Southern regions of Ethiopia are predominantly Oromo, Somali (specifically the Ogaden), and Nubians. These three make up Kush. The Kush Kingdom collapsed since being conquered by the Axumites. The Axumites were then superseded by Abyssinians. This should answer the question once and for all about how did Arabs get African Slaves?! Despite the fact that each societies residing in Ethiopia are intermixed and genetically blended. Ethiopia has still remained highly fragmented. This is why people from various groups that I mentioned easily sold each other into what became known as the Eastern Slave trade and all the way through the scramble of Africa. This is what started it and enabled Arabs to benefit from Africa, using humans as commodities. I don’t blame Arabs. Rather the blame is best suited on Africans, the likes of ABBA Jafar, and Menilik, to name a few that made a business out of raiding, capturing, and selling their fellow Black/African brothers and sisters. We are currently in 2019...and the struggle of power still continues in Ethiopia between these groups. In our current times we don’t necessarily utilize the ancient names in reference to our identities in Ethiopia. But we Identify ourselves through Ethnic Federalism. It’s funny how things haven’t changed at all. Lol.

Very refreshing to see Africans tell history and keep it historical. I did not even know about the Sao civilization and will be reading Levtzion, Nehemia to learn more. It is sad when you see the trolls and haters who make the most stupid comments, yet do they know their history beyond the narrative of a victim. Do you think after this presentation they go and read further. I wish this channel would include sources and recommended reading (that is my one complaint). You cannot say this stuff without sources. Great history l like it .but you forgot when Iselame was prosecuted by the koresh in Mecca Mohammed send his family to Tigray Abyssinia and told them that there is a just king called King Negash in Abyssinia until I send a massager to collect you I know you will be safe there. Then the koresh knew the family are in Abyssinia and send messengers with lot’s of gold as a gift to the great king Negash and ask him to give Mohammed family to return to Mecca . The great kings reply to the koresh was let alone this amount of gold if you give me a mountain sized gold I will never give you these people who are under my protection and have the trust on me . So go home and tell your leader that they are Safe here. Ever since the king gave them land to build their mosque in Negash and start exercising their religion freely and leaving there . Even the families grave is still there in Tigray Abyssinia and now the Mosque is a tourist attraction you could visit and witnessed it for your self and learn a real history how Islam was saved by the Abyssinians. Read the Koran you will find it there also. Other thing Axum civilization was way before Islam it’s 4 - 5 thousand years you can also do a research on that and more thank you.

Muslims call the migration to Ethiopia the first Hijrah. The second was to Medina. At that point in Arabia's history, the Arabs shared a lot of commonalities with Africa. And many Arabs were themselves Black. The Prophet Mohammed's milk mother was African. Islam found sanctuary in Africa and enjoyed it's greatest heights at the hands of Africans.
