Fun fact: after the last Popple fight, you can find him at Little Fungitown, where he is sentenced to community service. With the Ultra Hammers, there is a minor sidequest in Gwarhar Lagoon where you can access a starfish called Spangle, who wants to find a place he could stand on that would suit him. You can then bring him to Hermie III (the giant crab) and you will be rewarded with the Soulful Bros. Badge. Additionally, doing this will also make him appear in the end credits on top of Hermie III.

So funny thing about birdo and popple, in the bowsers minion mode no one played there's a moment where popple does tryouts for a new rookie. In the end he states whoever defeats the minions gets to be the rookie. Birdo was the only one who didn't fight so they grab popple and leave together.

15:40 This is common knowledge at this point, but the Starbeans Cafe was meant to have several cameos from different Nintendo characters instead of just E. Gadd everytime you make a new blend. The cameos were Wario from the Wario Land series (WarioWare was not a thing when this game originally released), Link from The Legend of Zelda, Fox McCloud from Star Fox (with minor cameos from Peppy Hare and Slippy Toad, too!), Samus Aran from Metriod, Olimar and several Pikmin from… Pikmin, and even the Excitebike Racer from Excitebike. No code for these remain in the files, but a ton of sprites and even dialogue is left over in the files!

Also, each gift E. Gadd gives you was, of course, meant to be given by one of the cameo characters, baring the Game Boy Horror SP, which was always meant to be given E. Gadd. Wario would've give you the Greed Wallet (called Wario's Gold in the leftover text), Fox would've given the Bonus Ring (Gold Ring originally), Olimar would've given the Cobalt Necktie (UV Lamp originally), Samus would've given the Power Grip (Energy Tank originally), Excitebike Racer would've given the Excite Spring, and Link would've given the Great Force (Triforce originally). I recently played through this, and I decided to min max. Mario was a bros move spamming glass cannon, and Luigi was a lucky tank (eventually gave Luigi the great force so he could actually do damage). Also, an interesting thing I found is that Knockback Bros (and advance chopper bros) uses the other bro's pow stat. Let's just say that this, with practice and skill, made the game become quite easy.

Also, on the Popple fight, I managed to bug it by burning Popple so he died in an egg. Birds kept doing the egg move to hide Popple, who the game decided wasn't dead, but when I freed Popple from the egg he did nothing. Made the fight a lot harder to beat, as Birdo kept deciding not to let me hit her.

I may be a bit late on this, but when you face the final boss, make sure Mario's Speed is at least 120. After beating Bowletta, you go into Phase 2; Cackletta's Soul. Mario and Luigi will both start that phase with 1 HP, and if your Speed is even a point below 120, Cackletta WILL attack first and will most likely KO you before you get a chance to heal.
