Thank you for the detailed review. I got this controller on very good deal; it's been 3 years and it's still working great. I hope someone from the Power A team watches your review and implements those fixes if they ever release another fightpad.

This was my number 1 pad when I first got it , years later however and having the hori commander for ps4 , the hori fc4 , hori octa, razer raion , mortal kombat x PDP fight pad , madcatz sfv fight pad …. The PowerA after some extensive use are known for the d pads to fly off and there is no choice but to replace the controller as a whole which these can still be had between $33-64 buying from a sellers on eBay in the UK area but they are not really available anyware else. My recommendations since the PowerA’s issues addressed 1) Razer Raion ( Revision 2 with the pivot D Pad ) 2) Hori FC4 ( also known as the hori fighting commander pro ) 3) Hori Fighting Commander PS3 / PS4

I know at this point in time is not really a thing most people would do, and even the controller lacks a touchpad button (could make issues) But making a PCB Padhack to make an arcade controller could still be useful when the controller fails I suppose Pretty bad to hear the quality overall was this bad

It's cool that you've reviewed this baby with SF6. Since I wrecked all my PS4 controllers grinding on this game I whipped it out the closet for a go. I encountered the same maddening problem with this thing that made me shelve it in the first place. The D-Pad!!! Why did the put these massive edges on it! It makes it really hard to fireball, and DP. I actually got used to how small it is in my massive paws, but that floaty D-Pad is a headache. I went online and like you mentioned it's just too damn slow to get those crucial DP's and fireballs. It is however superb at dashing. Good review. It is solidly built, and worth it if you get it at a discount like me.

I just bought this fightpad for street fighter 6. The dpad is probably the most comfortable I have used and is the easiest to input consistent dps. However, every drawback that is mentioned in the video is true. Particularly the throw distance of the dpad (because it sits quite high), making quick direction changes difficult, and also the wall around the dpad, which my thumb often pushes against making it even more difficult to do quick direction changes. The face buttons being just that bit too high can cause some misinputs when doing moves that require pressing two buttons simultaneously. It is an otherwise fantastic controller, and I wish they had just addressed these couple of issues and it would be perfect. The shoulder button issue doesn't affect me, maybe because I don't play Zangief. Still on the hunt for the perfect pad...

Ive had 3 of these so far and the dpad always breaks off. Mainly when im playing as guile. I have a stick but its for switch only but i shouldve bought it for the ps4.

My Review: After 6 months (used in fighting games), not a continuous user of this pad his dpad life isn't long enough and major drawback is that you can't find replacement of this part, you have to buy new one.

I got this one also, but the travel distance is far too long for me. I would often miss a super or DR cancel. So I am still using my almost 30 yo Saturn 3D pad that shares the same d-pad - just way better. I love the button layout of the power-a a lot and tiger knee inputs work like a charm, but the downsides are just too much. It really stinks, as it is almost a fantastic controller for an affordable price.

Thanks for the video, I like that you go into lots of detail about which special moves are easy and difficult with this controller. One question: how is it at doing movements such as Hold Back --> Forward And Button Press? Moves like Blanca's roll in Street Fighter, where you slide from left to right, or right to left. It seems like this would accidentally press up/down all the time when sliding over the middle to the other side. That has been my issue with other D-pads, like the Genesis 6-button. Such a ridiculously loose and imprecise D-pad for left to right/right to left movements, I get an errant up or down input 70% of the time.

Good video, how come you didn't test the input lag...I find that the best bit, also Probably one of the most important things in a fight pad...can you do another video testing it please 🙏

I have used both the PC and PS versions extensively. The back portion of the PC version was rubbery (sticks to the hand), which I really loved. The PS version is entirely plastic and slips every now and then. It's downgrade imho. They should really update the face buttons so that they are easier to press. It's definitely not the smoothest. Having said that, I love the floating d-pad and it's one of the best options in India for playing fighting games
