Hey mate, love your vids. I've got a VK val ranger sedan that i have owned for 20 years, I bought it off a 82 yo bloke for 1300 bucks in 2002...at the time I thought I paid too much. A few years ago I was forced to decide whether to do it up or piss it off, I decided to take it off the road and do it up. The local engine mob wanted 6k to rebuild the motor (not including the head...) so I decided to rebuild the 265 myself. It cost 1300 bucks for all the gear and the tools to do it. Not thinking about the consequences, I threw an E49 cam in the motor. This started a chain reaction. When we got it running, there was no vacuum on the brakes so I contacted the local carb guy who said go the webbers, so I did...and I got one of your heat shields as well. Unfortunately, it is bolted up to a fuckin borg warner 35 auto... I have bodged a manual kick-down adjustment using a hand brake assemble from a ford ranger ute. 4 clicks up holds the kick down enough to shift at a higher rpm. If you get up it hard core the auto slips. It idols well though. One day I need to get enough motivation and money to change out the auto. Your youtube clips are truly inspirational!

see you running a pipe in like brauny did back in the 1980s when he went from a 318 in his charger to his big block 440. he made up dual pipes to feed into an air cleaner. i use to live down there, dates his sister a while. had a 2 door pacer, then blue full option v8 blue 76 charger, that everyone thought i was running a 350 chev as they did not believe a valiant could go that fast. wrong, scared a few guys on the Heywood to Portland run

I tried to make an airbox with a direct cooling system from an air con set up but I couldn't get much help on the AC set up as I wanted to use an electric AC so you had constant cold air

the air cant flow without the car moving, so it cant make a difference at the lights. faster you go the air funnels in with more pressure. Braune would also know this. how are the cops treating you, gave me a hard time in my youth, bit better once i was a doorman at the henty, one became a friend, and they eased off. but some where pretty hard on us. and your videoing yourself hooning, they be all over you. all you need now days is money to make hp, my day you had to do it old school. youi can bolt on turbos, make big hp, its pointless to chase too much hp. unless your Ritch. 2 best cars i had was the pacer 2 door and charger, but all the Valiants i owned where good cars, rarely had to work on them. shit i cant even find a gearbox for my 318.
