Both panellists have presented a distorted picture of the whole issue. Actually the President of the Sivagiri Mutt Swami Satchidananda had suggested that temples should abandon the custom of not allowing the male devotees to wear their shirts inside Sanctum Santorum .The CM was the speaker there after. He endorsed the views of Swami. Thereafter CM spoke of the attempt to paint Sree Narayana Guru as a preacher of Sanathana Dharma. That has nothing to do with the shirt controversy as claimed by panelists…

Communists and Sree Narayana Guru are in two different poles in this issue. Sree Narayana Guru didn't try to destroy Dharma, but strengthened it by placing Ezhava Shivan for even lower caste thereby providing even lower castes too with spirituality. He was the proponent of Advaita vedanta. Communists tried to destroy the idols by breaking them, stealing and throwing it in rivers. They were always against Dharma and was reason was mass massacre at many places across the globe.
