If I get laid off from a plumbing job, I can go get another plumbing job because I would have a tangible useful skill that a company could help me market for consumption. A tiktoker’s product is intangible and somewhat useless, and everything that is “produced” is owned by the company, everything that is produced is also produced on the company’s ‘canvas’, so to speak. When that company leaves, the canvas leaves, there is nothing for you to produce, and you can’t go get another TikTok job. The best you can do is start over on another platform.

Was TikTok user for about 4 years, but after 2022 it became a place for russian and Chinese propaganda, I literally saw how separatists stream freely, tho I have used every single in-app security measure to avoid such unwanted content, and it still got through the random recommendations. All the report tickets were left without a reply. I think the reason is that TikTok owners can't handle non Chinese/English language videos or comments properly, thus this app is definitely dangerous. Uninstalling it was the best decision, I can't explain it, but after some "nostalgia" period I totally forgot about it and absolutely not interested in any TikTok videos anymore, I've got free from this addiction. I won't argue if TikToker is a real job or not, just saying that there are other social video services with the exactly the same functionality.

If TikTok gets banned and removed from the App stores, Android provides the means to let users install apps that are no longer in the App store, All it takes is downloading the apk file, and setting your android devices to allow unknown apps, Then you'll be able to use TikTok, However for Iphone users, They won't be able to install TikTok outside of the app store because Apple's own devices are part of a closed system, and don't allow apps outside of the app store to be installed, Unless they somehow jailbreak those phones, Which then allows people to install other apps not in the app store.

People who are saying tiktok should have been gone are thinking of one side of tiktok which is dumb the whole app is important for not just businesses but indie artists. It’s not all about music and silly videos. Twitter and Instagram have been phased out for being the outdated way to share. With this gone Snapchat would be the only option and it isn’t as profitable.

I'm old enough to clearly remember life without the internet. If it stopped functioning tomorrow, it would take me about 1 day to adjust. Social media companies are even less meaningful (except that they make their owners exceedingly rich). So what is all the hub-bub about Tiktok, anyway? China has long banned numerous American/internet-based businesses, including Google and Facebook. I don't hear anyone complaining about that.
