When I was a 432 Driver in Minden with 2RGJ, part of 11 Armoured Brigade (1980-85), the only Mk 1, Brigade in BAOR at the time, only Suffield in Canada were Mk 1 as well, but our tracks were initially held on with a clip, later this was amended on new tracks to a self locking nut, which was good as track bashing and track replacement were well if not a daily occurence, common, especially in the cold, ice and mud of Soltau! Also replacing broken Torsion bars was, well it happened, as apparently 432's weren't designed to fly! 😆 🤣 😂 Love your vids, keep them coming and save those 432's they deserve it after all their service to! 👍🏽 🙏🏼

They look like the old circlip track pins, we were told to stop using those in 1984 on my 432 course, only time I saw them was picking up two 436's and both had them (supposedly refurbished vehicles in 1985) - the pins and bushes were so worn there were several track links missing and I could get a finger between each link - they wanted us to drive from Herford to Hameln - no chance

Scania "flash" codes consist of long flashes to count a multiple of ten, and short flashes for single digits, so possible code 60? Which after some googling I think will be something to do an air discrepancy to the tag Axle, blocked lines or a failed valve etc. Only misfortune is 4 series scania parts are not cheap 😢
@1chish2 ай бұрын
On 4 series Scanias if we had any 'odd' electrical issues (like range change, splitter or PTO failures) we went straight to the wiring loom that drops from the front of the cab to the RH corner of the chassis next to the sreering column. They corrode and while you will get a circuit with a tester they break down under load. Just open the loom and pull each cable. They turn to dust. I always tested with a 75 watt fog lamp bulb! On the Discoveries watch LRtime on YT from Germany. They both sounded pretty good though and both worth savng. There is clearly a local industry in knicked Landie batteries ...😂

You guys should build a covered open structure (or with barn doors to facilitate passing through) over the concrete slab. Would be perfect to park stuff there that just needs to be parked, and evac them from areas where you'd need the space to work in. Maybe even light work in the warmer season. Single angle roof, dipping towards the field in the back, and truss construction. Nothing special, just enough to cover the space there.

It seems that you have a suspension issue. The light on the dashboard means that your suspension is not level/in normal riding position. (i am assuming that you know that the scania works with air bellows instead of springs) The little black box you had in your hand,the remote for your suspension so to speak ,has a button that looks like the icon on your dashboard that was blinking. When you start the scania and it had a bit of time to get the air levels to working level,it should be normal that that light is going to go away,if not,then you have a air leak somewhere. Hope that this bit of info helps. Keep up the good work.

Duxford closing the Land Warefare hall is criminal. The quality of museum managers these days is frighteningly poor.
@DanRyan-v5y2 ай бұрын
Part of the policy to erase our history? Why do all curators and museum managers seem to be foreign these days? Pretty much any famous history series on TV talks to foreigners who are managing our history in major and minor collections . Are there no British people capable? When you have people in the British museum stealing artifacts you have to wonder at the quality of museum management and those who are supposed to be curating our culture.
@jabezhane2 ай бұрын
All museums are becoming worthless. They are basically stripping out 80% of the original viewable stuff to cut it down to 80 minutes viewing time by a bus load of kids on a school trip and then charging £20 to see closed off "special" exhibits. The Science Museum, War Museum are all pointless now. There were more guns and weapons on show at the Tower of London than the War Museum.

Try checking them with A multi meter tester testing your wiring harness control relay switches for the main output's going to control panel and dashboard panel controls. Cause one of those could've burned out over the years of usage finally on that machinery. Those body self grounding relays have it's own metal grounding tabs with holes through them. I'd try checking and maybe swap out one that's good with A possible bad relay switch for testing purposes. A fluke meter and digital multimeter instrument tool.,and test light will help you out majorly in situations like those guy's.
