I appreciate that whenever you reference something in a conversation you put in a photo or video clip of the thing you are referencing. Even if it is a one second shot or Kirk wakeboarding in home video from the 90's. That must take a lot of work and I appreciate it.

next time you do a long storage, the upper deck can be treated with a temporary compound wax thats waterproof - when you return cleaning of the desk is 10x less effort and you have the added bonus of a treatment done

Nice boat. I grew up sailing on a Tartan 37 Center boarder. I could recognize her from the very first pic you showed of the portlight. I've since moved on to Pearson 33 2 and my father had to sell The Tartan. She was a great boat. One of the things I liked about her was that she pointed like a tourist. It was fun watching you guys. It brought back memories.one tip that you may have already figured out. Always tie-back the lazaret when you go down to work on the engine. The hasp that came on The Tartan can lock you below if it blows over or gets knocked over. I've read of a few instances of this over the years.

You should look into Simple Green marine cleaner, always have used it on my Dads boat for cleaning, and he had used it while serving in Coast Guard to clean their boats. It’s the only thing we ever used, and get a nylon bristle brush on a pole, save your backs, you’ll thank me when you’re 40. Happy sailing!!

Glad to see you two back at the boat. The stuff you washed the deck with is crap. Clorox toilet bowl cleaning gel with bleach. mixed 15% to 85% water in spray bottle. Your Deck will be back to where it was. I restored a boat last summer that sat under a oak tree for 3-1/2 years in South Carolina uncovered. This Clorox solution brought back the deck to factory white.

Simple Green all purpose is what i use to clean my RV PVC roof every year, its gets 4 months worth of tree sap and mildew off. Should work for your deck too. I spray it on and let it sit for 5 minutes, then brush it. the rinse with water. comes out perfect ever time.

Problem with filling your diesel tank all the way up when prepping the boat for summer on the hard: Diesel expands when it gets warm. So you get diesel coming out the pressure release valve on the top of the tank. The diesel can damage things depending on your setup, but the worst it means for your tankage is a new pressure valve.

For old stubborn dirt and grim on Gel-coat I use Toilet bowl cleaner. You have to be very careful when applying this on(acid) so I use a throw away brush to apply it keeping it away from all fabrics, glass, plastic's and wiring. Rinse after no more than 10 minutes later with water. Gel-coat only, no paints. Works great.

Make from pvc pip a model for your Bimini you can make ferry easy with all the bends and curves first no glue but is it so you wish and fits on the boat you can glue it. There a lot of Models curves and bends to bay in every home built shops. If it’s finished you bring the model to a specialist to make one of nice Rust free steel. Which you ferry must success 👍👍

Just some advice. Reflectix has like 0 insulation property. You should use 1/4-1/2 foam board. Some of it has a reflective back. Refletix only helps stop the transfer of heat. But it needs a 1in dead air space between it and the roof itself. It’s great for windows to keep UV heat out.

I use to use pool shock mixed with water on my fishing boat while using an stand up boat bush , and wearing boots . Some people thought I was nuts , but when I was done , you could not look at it without wearing sun glasses ! Fishing boats get very dirty after using it , and at the end of winter it was almost black from mold , etc . The shock is very cheep , and the boat soap is not , and did not do as good a job as the shock . Just test a spot first .It only cost about 3-4 dollars for a bag .
