Keep in mind that Taurasi, Stewart, and Bird came up through the UCONN system under Geno Auriemma. Paige is Auriemma's current project so I think Taurasi said Paige just out of loyalty to Geno and to UCONN. basically, they're UCONN dead-enders.

Sure, bias can be a factor. But next question? She disregarded the question entirely, seems like jealousy and hate to me. You can be bias, but at least explain reasons why Paige is better!

Listening to all the ESPN South Carolina announcers disrespecting Iowa all through March Madness was very hard to listen to for that very same reason! And now one of them, Aliyah Boston, is CC's teammate. I really hate prejudice in analysis.

CC could care less what others think about her...she lets her on-court basketball do her talking for her. She is focused as H--- what with all the attention and pressure. The "naysayers" in the WNBA need to be professionals and stop the mud slinging.

The whole "gotta have a championship" from WNBA players who played on powerhouse teams like UConn, SC... "You can't be great without a ring". I respectfully disagree, and these greats disagree too -- Ernie Banks, Charles Barkley, Elgin Baylor, Barry Bonds, Pavel Bure, Dick Butkus, Rod Carew, Tina Charles, Ty Cobb, Marcel Dionne, Patrick Ewing, Mike Gartner, Ken Griffey Jr, George Gervin, Tony Gwynn, Roy Halladay, Denny Hamlin, James Harden, Dale Hawerchuk, Allen Iverson, Harry Kane, Jim Kelly, Michelle Kwan, Karl Malone, Pete Maravich, Dan Marino, Angel McCoughtry, Tracy McGrady, Reggie Miller, Randy Moss, Anthony Munoz, Steve Nash, Cam Neely, Adam Oates, Brad Park, Chris Paul, Cristiano Ronaldo, Barry Sanders, O.J. Simpson, John Stockton, Derrick Thomas, LaDainian Tomlinson, Mike Trout, Russell Westbrook, Dominique Wilkins, Ted Williams, Carl Yastrzemski. It's really time to dump the whole disrespect, jealousy, hate diatribe and let Caitlin Clark and the Fever have their season. Greatness transfers, sometimes quickly. Caitlin Clark is a great player. Per Coach Staley, "Caitlin Clark is 'one of the' GOATs. Not "THE GOAT", but one of the greatest players of all time, Let's shut up and watch with all the rest of the new eyes CC is drawing to the WNBA this year.

The WNBA players have been complaining about low game attendance for years. Now, someone, who is 'filling' arenas comes along and the complainers are out in full force. Pathetic jealousy and the season has not even started.

There are WNBA players who have said great things about her. Lisa Leslie, a legend, called her a bona fide baller and the ideal combo of Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi. Diana Taurasi said some nice things as well, complimenting her endurance and speed: "Her motor is unbelievable. I never see her tired." I do think Swoopes and Stewart sounded really biased, but it's not like the whole league is out to get her imo. Also, Diana is just kind of a tease and playfully ribs her closest friends all the time, so from her it's not unexpected. I actually thought Sue saying she would only pick Caitlin for ratings was more insulting. Just my two cents.

When DIana Taurasi and Breanna Stewart were both at UConn, they were NOT selling out their games on the road and sometimes at home, And people DID NOT go out of their way to fly or drive hundreds or thousands of miles and pay hundreds of dollars for tickets, food, hotel and merch to see them play all over the country like they were for Caitlin Clark.

That's what screens are designed to do. If you watch the Fever training camp videos you'll see Clark is doing just fine with step-back threes and running logo jumpers against both men and women defenders. In the pressers her teammates all light up when asked about CC and say that the hype is real.

I don’t think any of these ladies are hating. It’s okay to have an opinion and have a favorite that doesn’t fit the narrative. Paige is an overall better player than Caitlyn, she got hurt and is coming off injury. Rickea Jackson is the best overall player from this draft (for the people who actually know basketball) but she’s not even talked about like that. Is that hate? No, it’s not. Caitlyn is a solid athlete, great passer, good iq but she still has a lot to learn. She needs to work on her defense, not getting so flustered when length is on her, and a few more other things. It’s okay to acknowledge that. Pro is a different level and these women realize that.

What a load of crap. She's an all time great because of her jersey sales? Yeah, the goal of every great ball player is to have the highest jersey sales. That's the measure of a great player, jersey sales. What total BS. Also, prior to Ms. Clark, winning a championship was the metric of greatness. Somehow all of a sudden, you don't have to be a champion to be great, you just need jersey sales. There's no question she's very good, but to be a great you need a championship ring. End of story. Changing the standards for her is pathetic.
@mathieucataluna
@mathieucataluna Ай бұрын
Jersey sales = impact. Impact is a key factor in determining all time greats. Stats are important, but what you do to impact the game is also as important. Viewership has never been higher since Clark has been here
@Ottovontubes
@Ottovontubes Ай бұрын
@@mathieucataluna More BS. Jersey sales do NOTHING to impact the game. Viewership is also not an indicator of greatness, it's an indicator of popularity.
