What I think sucks the most is that Caitlin Clark cannot shame or even really say anything against these people without getting attacked for being 'insecure' or 'emotional'. But a man could deffiently get away with bashing on his haters and even going against them in a game to prove themselves.

I’ve never commented before, but this issue of men being dismissive of female athletes and underpaying female athletes. I wrestle for my high school and I’m the first and only female wrestler. I’ve had to wrestle boys and ngl most of the times I lost (although I have pinned 4, 1 on JV and 3 on varsity). I always feel like I have to win to prove that girls wrestling is actually decent, which is so bs because honestly I’m not the best. It’s my 3rd year wrestling and I did take 7th in states, but they’re are so many girls who are nationally and internationally ranked who would smoke these boys. Even if the boys did wrestle these girls and lost they’d make some b.s excuse for it. Like even though I’m better than most of the guys in my team and I beat them in practice they’ll still be like “I wrecked you at practice and you suck.” I’ve basically been called every slur and my accomplishments are always undermined by the boys on the team. Honestly, as long as we women enjoy female sports and we support each other that’s all that matters. We don’t need men’s validation and frankly we’ll never even get it so why try. Just be happy doing your best

As some one who watches and plays woman's sports and on mixed teams. There is a skill gap between men and women due to biology but it is shortening. Especially in western countries were womans sports are at least somewhat celebrated and encouraged. The problem with pay in womans sports is directly tied to how many many people watch. Yes people tune in to finals and into key games but there isn't a steady viewership all season. For example i live in Canada where hockey is big. Everytime our womans national team plays the US the games sell out but there is hardly anyone watching the games they do between championships and tournaments where they play mens junior teams. My point is you want to support womans sports, watch womans sports. It is a different game (not worse) than the mens. Look at is such. It is also in general A LOT cheaper to watch then the mens. For example i enjoy pro womans soccer more than the mens. I think it is a better game, with better teamwork, and with a lot fewer dramatics.

Ty for breaking this down cause playing the same game *differently*, utilising different strategy angles and skillsets to achieve the same (literal) goals due to the aerodynamics and other physical dynamics of biological difference in body structure DOES NOT equate to men being superior I'm so mad about the default assumption being "you can't put men and women against each other cause men are naturally better"

I agreed with everything you said, but the salaries are what they are for a reason. The nba makes Billions in revenue, while the wnba barely breaks even. If there is no revenue, there is no high salaries. Caitlin Clark will change that, like Tiger Woods did for golf. I never watched the wnba and very little women's college, but I watched more last year bc of Clark than I have since I started sports. To be honest, I only keep up with the nba in the playoffs, but I am a big college b ball fan. She will definitely make the wnba more relavent, and I will stay in tuned bc of her.

Tyler. This is in response to the man who thought Caitlin would not necessarily measure up to Steph Curry (though I thought his comment was reasonable). In the Decemeber 20, 2023 issue of "The Athletic," they crunched the numbers, using Caitlin's last two years (at the time) of 3-point shots from 25 to 30 feet out. Note: Didn't matter that the three-point arcs are different in men's and women's courts; the stats were based on "distance" from the hoop. She did quite well. The amount of time taken for the pros wasn't specified. Still, the stats are impressive: In shooting efficiency, here are the results: Caitlin - 42.9%, Curry - 42%, Damian Lillard - 38.5%, and Sabrina Ionescu (who's taken part in a 3-point exhibition with Curry) - 32.9%.

Yes, Lia did go on to win in other events, but in the showdown with Riley Gaines there were 4 women who beat BOTH of them in the USA ALONE. why do people think Lia and Riley tied for first at the Olympics? 1. they secretly don't believe a woman who isn't trans could ever beat a trans woman...so clearly it was a tie for first on the global stage - it's the sexist believe that (despite 200 free not even being Lia's best event) bio women are so biologically inferior to bio men that it is literally impossible for a bio woman to beat a bio man regardless of the circumstances (let alone for 4 to do it in a single country - not even the Olympics...even though, again, 200 free is not Lia's best event event). 2. the media never really bothers to question this, post the names of the 4 women who beat them both (literally nearly impossible to find, the focus is *entirely* on Lia and Riley because clearly female athletes do not matter no matter how good they are unless they are Instagram famous like Riley is or play into a narrative...yes ladies, we have no value even if we literally win a national championship and are not even worth naming unless we can be used to in someone who doesn't even follow our sport's post on Facebook as rage bait!), or in any way counter that the four women who beat them both have any value - like, it's insane, I can't even find their names...do you know how messed up that is? Same with this, people are getting mad and focusing on Caitlin Clark exclusively because some men are butt hurt that their 5,6" selves couldn't beat a basketball player who is turning pro...because how dare we suggest a woman is better at a man than anything ever. Oh! And assuming women who do well in sports *must* be trans - so disgusting! Especially these people who claim to be "defending women's sports". Look, I know there are issues with how to safely include trans people in sports (especially those that involve pure sprinting like swimming can) that may take us some time to fully sort out, but if you're response to a woman being good at sports is "well, she must be trans" doesn't actually seem like you give a single shit about women in sports so why are you even commenting? Like, these people clearly just care about depicting women are biologically helpless and are just using "defend women's sports" as a more socially accepted way to voice their opinion if they don't actually believe that women can be good at sports unless they are bio male. No jokes, on discussions of the Lia Thomas Riley Gaines thing AND this, I've literally seen people who claim to be feminists being like "it's not that women are biologically inferior, their bodies are just made for other things, like comforting their husbands and making babies." - 2024 people!

No, this is not the "dusty Manopocolypse." The majority of hate coming at Clark is from jealous WNBA players. The WNBA is a joke. Clark is bringing interest to the cruddy league which is crap at best. Also, don't discount how the black WNBA players hate Clark because she is white. If I were Clark, I'd play 1 year and then quit the WNBA and watch it fold. Then I'd collect on my endorsements and watch the WNBA fold. Clark will be fine ...

I think the guys who said they'd win probably don't realize that Caitlin plays against men basically every day. Granted, they are in practice and obviously wouldn't be rough on her, but it's not like she has zero experience against men. She also has two brothers and played a lot of ball against them as well. As for the salary, you do need to divide the 650k number by 2 since the WNBA plays half the number of games. Still not comparable, but slightly better. The commissioner has also explained in a previous interview that the $76k is based salary. There's bonuses and goals that can bump it up to the $500k area. I'd assume whatever those are, Clark is going to hit them. I'd guess the Jersey sales thing is from necessity; if you can't pay the bills, you got to save every penny. Just like the sudden change in chartered flights, it wouldn't shock me if that also changes this year as well. Growing women's sports is one of her true passions, and I think she understands that the WNBA isn't in the best shape right now. There's a ton of talent, but has been unsuccessful in the financial side. So I think things like the jersey sales and salary are important, but she's getting to do her childhood dream and so the money probably isn't the most important to her right now. I've had lower paying jobs myself that I enjoyed what I did and those were superior to jobs that paid more but I disliked what I did.

I do not watch “MEN” play basketball ball, because it is ALL ABOUT “ME” !!! I am the GOAT!!! I have found I like watching Caitlin Clark play , because she is a TEAM SHOW!! She gives credit to the team, they become better. They all get to play & make baskets. She does not have to carry them or SCREAM “ I AM THE {GOAT}”!!!! You get to enjoy a game!! I enjoy watching the team play!!! I did not know anyone on the team. I do now. I also see a “ELEGANCE “ to the team & how they play together.

I for the life of me don’t understand how it’s not common knowledge that EVERYONE HAS AN ADAM’S APPLE. Yes women have them too. Women, if you tilt your head back you can usually find it by feeling the front of your neck. The reason men’s are usually more prominent/noticeable is because of differences in how we develop during puberty. However, because everyone’s hormone levels, etc are different, women can also develop more prominent Adam’s apples sometimes. Similarly some men don’t develop a prominent Adam’s apple. It’s wild to me that people are still confused by this.

I am British and have never given a shit about sports in the slightest and even I can see the way she’s being treated is complete bullshit. She is taking this in stride and I respect that but she really shouldn’t HAVE to deal with this. She’s doing the sport she loves and she’s doing it well. She seems to be trying to stay out of drama as much as possible. That should be a good thing! What disgusts me more than the dudes that treat her like shit - because at this point I could see that coming before I even clicked on the video - is the women, especially the women who are also basketball players, because they know what she goes through to get to where she is and they STILL act like that. This isn’t to say she has to be perfect to be respected. She doesn’t. People are people. She’s allowed to make mistakes, just like any other athlete. She’s human and should be treated as such, not held to a higher standard.

I feel like the Caitlin & Steph comparisons are disingenuous, they’re two totally different players. Steph’s got a much better handle, Clark’s a better passer, Steph does his most damage off-ball, Clark’s on-ball almost all the time, etc. it’s almost like comparing a hummer to an F-1, just two totally different things.

All great players get hate until they win so much people have to accept it. Especially when the media anoints them the next great. Patty Mahomes gets hate, Lebron got hate for years until he won a chip then people said “he had to move for it” it’s crazy but it’s just how it is when the media builds up an athlete especially when they don’t win a championship Also the pro athletes that said they would win isn’t crazy I mean they wouldn’t have gotten where they are by having a losing mindset or even a realistic mindset

what irks me most is that men will literally act like all this hate is from women bc "women be petty" 😑😑 like I'm not saying no women hate her but are we fr more upset with Angel Reese's trash talk then whatever tf AB said here?? it's so frustrating to watch men be fans of her yet so eager to put the other women players down to "humble" them. it all feels like it comes from a place of men thinking they know better than women even when these women have been involved YEARS (some decades!!) before them 🙄

WNBA viewership and profit keeps increasing, but the effort to market them and advertise them isn't there. On the flip side of CC's accession, she's been giving us prime examples of white privilege in action all season long, mainly because of how sports media and her stans treat her. A great example in any comment section (including this one) people will say that the WNBA is only relevant because of her, completely disrespecting/ignoring the Black women who paved the way. IDK how much you are following the WNBA but a CC follow-up video, once she's knocked out of the playoffs (if she makes it), would be so fetch. A lot of her stans have been using her name to be racist/homophobic against other WNBA players all season long.
