As my Father used to say to me: “You only have one opportunity to make a First Impression!” By making it a good one, you are showing head and shoulders above 95% of the other men around, which comes across much better to women and makes you more attractive to start…no matter what else you do, good grooming and being one level up on clothing puts you in the circle of champions.

I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. Women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and science shows that women can bond very well with each other. Generally, women are even more social than men are. After something bad happens, a woman quickly rushes to talk to all of her female friends to get support, whereas a man can isolate himself and grief alone. Women tend to be more emotional, more caring, more empathic, more compassionate, more affectionate, more loyal, more nurturing, more understanding, more sympathetic, more sensitive, more kind-hearted, more peaceful, more calmer, more gentle, more expressive, more intuitive, and more outward than men are, and thus bond more with other women in a special way that they can’t with men. Men, on the other hand, are not that emotional, and thus can’t bond with other men in a special way. Women are more comfortable being around with other women than they are with men. They have a type of bond that usually men with women won’t really have, or with men and men. Women feel a lot safer in general with other women than they do with men if either is alone with each other, and it is easier for women to trust other women more than it is to trust a man.

@@dogbarbill Me too, man. But I'm finally losing weight now. Maybe someone can find this helpful. Five weeks ago I started 16/8 fasting. It means I eat in an 8 hour window throughout the day, and eat nothing for 16 hours of the day. Nothing after 7pm and nothing till 11am the next day. I've coupled this method with not going over the number of calories for the weight I'm shooting for. That formula is as follows: Say you want to be at 200 pounds. Take 200 x 12 = 2,400. No more than 2,400 calories. It works. I'm actually shooting for 250 and will re-evaluate once I get there. This works! Been doing this for five weeks. If your appetite is out of control like mine was being on 16/8 will help bring it down as well as eating foods that fill you up like potatoes and apples. Chicken and veges help your appetite too. No salt added tomato sauce helps my appetite as well.

@@jamesgeorge65 Ditch the potatoes, as well as anything "white' like white rice, white bread, white pasta, etc. Waiting until 11:00 am to eat is also a bad idea. You're much better off to eat several small, snack-sized meals thru out the day rather that 3 large meals. Having more smaller meals keeps you metabolism going all day, and *_that's_* what burns the calories. This is what worked for me. I went from 245lbs down to 162lbs in about 8 months (I'm 5'11").

This is so true. I have recently pulled back from dating sites and seeking a partner because, after reading the profiles of the women who are not scammers (there are a lot of scammers, stay alert), I realized I have the look but not the foundation. Women want a man who is has his life in control. Make long term plans, be responsible with finances and correspondence, put your adult responsibility to the fore. After this, if you look stylish/smart and have something you're passionate about and hopefully can converse on a few subjects, you are "the real deal". So now I do some work so I can offer a quality woman the man she is hoping for. Not another boy with no sense of self.

Oh Yes! listening skills are important! I can not tell you how many coffee dates I have had with a man that has asked me out, but then does not asked me a single question. He will just talk and talk and talk some more. And talk. When we say good bye, many times he will know nothing more about me then when he did upon saying hello. Literary, it's that bad! What that tells me is that he has no interest in me. All he is interested in is himself.

YES!!! Thank you for addressing this matter. Through the research I've done about dating there's a term in psychology known as "thin slicing". People look at ones posture, facial expressions, gait, appearance, all within a split second. A study was done to determine if someone's initial first impression can be changed. More often than not, it's usually more confirmed than changed. Completely agree with you regarding women looking for a male that looks well put together and it's not being a gold digger. It's more about the choices a man makes that catches a women's attention. One of the top 5 areas a female looks for in a male is grooming and hygiene. We men, we're much easier, we want someone fun. Thank for sharing this.

You know, I was talking to a friend a few months ago and he asked how much I spend on clothes and other personal products. I didn’t feel comfortable telling him the truth ,but said I didn’t think $2,000 a year was out of line for him. He freaked out on me like I was on drugs. I stated that $2,000 a year is only $500 every three months. I said…“Dude, you spend that $500 a month easy going out to eat and drinking by yourself and you come home by yourself!” After a long heated heart to heart, we decided he would try it with my help. Proud to say, a woman at his work noticed his change in dress / style and they’ve been dating for a bit now.

Yes, it is hard to start again at 62, for a widower. But, if you look after your health and look as if you still care about life and yourself, you will be in luck because there are so many lonely widows who would love such a man. Hint: Don't look like you are managing very well alone as a man eg cooking, dressing too well etc. Because older women like to think a man needs them to help him cope with certain things women know how to handle best eg clothes, cooking etc. Basically, unlike younger women, the old girls want a man they can love and take care of, help him with things he is not too good at eg colour coordinating his clothes. Leave them something they can do to feel wanted, useful, necessary to your life and wellbeing as a man. Because that gives meaning to their own lives as older women. Though they may complain about your atrocious dress style, inability to figure out how to even boil an egg and other such things certain older males are notorious for not knowing. It is kind of quaint and cute and appealing about them and older women can feel needed by them. So longer as you can handle some of the traditional male stuff many women feel overwhelmed by eg things mechanical or involving directions. We can never figure out where North is, but men seem to know such things instinctively. We marvel at such male attributes. I can stare at some minor mechanical matter for hours trying to fix it. Then along comes some male and just clicks something and it's fixed in a second and I'm thing "What on earth...This must be some sort of magic!". Meanwhile, kind man smiles, says "Noworries, mate!" and just walks away and I'm thinking "Hey, I like you, mate, come back... I'll break a few more gizmos or garnets, so you can fix them for me, just to see you again...Hey, I'll even cook you a nice meal, take up the legs of those disgusting too long trousers I see you in..."

This totally depends on the type of women you're into. I like hippy type sporty chicks who really aren't too bothered about they're own appearance most of the time. But can glam up as and when it's required. Most important is to meet them through a shared interest not because ur wearing the correct footwear.

Hey John, Great video and I like most of your advices. On the one thing I disagree with you is in the dressing part. I dress well and always try my best to represent myself the best way possible, but I do that for me. I like to look good and dress well for me. In my 42 years on this earth I realized that that 99% of women don’t care about that. The majority of good looking women I know and I see on the streets, date/marry guys with no since of style. Guys that make all the style mistakes you talk about. Women are attractive to attitude, swag, sense of humor and then of course the shallow stuff like power and good looks(not in all cases) but it is a factor. The reality is that dressing well is not an indicator for attracting women, that is in my humble opinion. Love the content, and I look forward to having this discussion with you in person at mensfluential.

Woman here. I find a man with style to be more attractive than a man who doesn’t care about how he dresses. Doesn’t need to be flashy, but appropriate and good quality. The shoes are important. My guy loves high quality dress shoes and to me the fact that he cares about that is sexy.

Great video John! Agree with everything. The older I get (50+) the more I see how it's just not too difficult to stand out from other men. I went into my barber yesterday wearing a nice pair of Levi's, Allen Edmond boots and a retro cycling sweater and got loads of complements. My barber went on and on - "dude you always look so GQ and stylish" - Really? Jeans and a sweater? With the "casualization" of men in America, a little effort in your appearance goes a long way.

Here in England a 'casual' is a lad or guy who loves football ,proberbly is involved in a firm but wears nice italian or other European clothing like c.p company for instance, always looking at one upmanship regarding wearing something no one else has, in fact its more about getting an approving nod from another casual than impressing women 🤣 , it started as a sub-culture but you see the look everywhere now , just thought id comment on how things differ , its held me in good sted since my youth, all the best .....

I don't think you really need to "invest" much money in nice clothing. You can be on a budget and still be discerning. I am very particular about my clothing, how well it fits and the color as appropriate to my complexion. I get a lot of my clothes off of Ebay, actually. The biggest investment has been the time in finding clothes that fit me well, and the styles that look good on me, and how I want to present myself.
