Hey, any fellow RTP fans, I've seen a few of you criticizing this video because it goes against RTP or something, or saying its "unoriginal" People are allowed to speculate what a new game in a series could look like? Plus RTP was far from the first look at a Viva Pinata 3. I'm geniuenly disanointed in anyone who comments about this video being bad because "its not Return to Paradise"
@GalaxyPolar2 жыл бұрын
2:55 Actually there is a plot to the first game that explains why its in shambles. The story entries in the journal (which sadly most people skip) tells the entire backstory to the first game and Leafos' family. The garden is in shambles because its the dried up ruins of Jardinaro's garden. He used to be the most talented master gardener of the whole island, and his family were all talented themselves, with one of his sons, Stardos, being most likely to be his direct successor. He then hired a helper named Lester who was always up to no good, and Lester was always jealous of Stardos. Lester creates the sour candies, and is fired. He then later on tells Jardinaro about the Dragonache, which Jardinaro and his pride get frustrated that even with his mastery, he can't get this mythical Piñata, and is determined to find it. Lester then gives Jardinaro a sketchy map that'll supposedly lead him to the Dragonache, but the map is a trick specifically designed to lead their ship to certain death among risky turns and sharp corners along the seas. Jardinaro and his wife go on this death quest to find the location of the Dragonache, and leave Stardos in charge of the place. Their journey causes the parents to get separated, the mother and the ship lost at sea, and Jardinaro washed up at the residence of an old Diggerling who actually had a Dragonache egg, but didn't know what it was or how to hatch it (a kind of hint to the player on how to obtain the egg by using the mine). Meanwhile, Lester drops the helper act and fully reveals himself as Professor Pester. He then lures Stardos into the jungle, and poisons the kid with the sour candy and kills him, turning him into the ghost Dastardos. He then has his Ruffians and Sours (presumably other souls who were corrupted by his sour candies) break everything, steal all the Piñatas, and destroy the garden to complete rubble. The other kids seperate and run away from the chaos, and Jardinaro comes home to see the disaster. After his journey, he's left a bit injured, but also more concerningly, devastated by how awful things are now, and losses all motivation to start over again. He grows old and bitter, regretting that whole ship ride, feeling like a fool to have fell for Pester's tricks. He then gets too old to garden anymore, and gives up completely. All he has left is Leafos. Pester basically killed his wife and son, and his other two kids aren't living with him anymore. Extremely dark backstory. The entire first game is about you buying the deeds to Jardinaro's garden and taking his place. He's pessimistic at first, but then starts seeing potential in you, helps you expand your craft, and opens up to you more about his past, putting it in the journal. You then go on to exceed him as you yourself become a master gardener, triumphing over Pester and his army, and eventually obtain the Dragonache, something even Jardinaro never could. The second game's garden is the space that exists out of bounds in the first game. If you notice the areas in the second game connect to the first. In the desert, you can see the back of Dastardos' sour tree, which he comes out from the desert in TIP. The artic connects to the mountains. The village is just the other side of it, and the jungle is the path Pester travels to get to his volcano lair. The whole island is connected by the Piñata Central cannon. Its just another space of land on the Island Jardinaro gives another newcomer who has to step in to clean up Pester's mess. It isn't damaged because it wasn't Pester's priority to mess with it, it wasn't Jardinaro's.

Sorry for that whole entire essay, I actually wrote all that from the top of my memory because the story stuck with me that much as a kid, lmao. The first game does have way more lore and plot than most people give it credit for, they just make it where you have to out of your way go look into it and read/listen to the entries to understand the whole lore/backstory. Its a pretty oddly dark backstory for a family game tho so I understand why they didn't wanna just give people cutscenes. I'm also watching a lot of Viva Piñata content today (including that mentioned Iceberg vid earlier) because I'm getting extremely nostalgic for the games again. I was absolutely addicted to this game as a kid, and it also led me to Banjo-Kazooie too. I'd give anything for Rare to start making more games of their old IPs and for us to finally get a VP3 😭. The whole big push for the franchise to get big was all just a failed staged marketing stunt tho, the show and merch were made in conjunction with the first game, so it was staged by Microsoft to try to force the franchise to become artifically successful, and because 4Kids did a mediocre job at the cartoon show, and the game didn’t reach enough audiences, the whole thing sorta flopped and they scraped it. Makes me extremely sad, but they should've put more effort into marketing it and trying again with it. After Nuts & Bolts tho, most of the old Rare devs pretty much cut ties and quit, so Microsoft just felt like they couldn't do much at this point and made the people left become Kinnect devs. Its not entirely Microsoft's fault because N&B was Rare's own bad creative decision, and was a mistake that was the main reason things fell apart. It sucks, because I loved Viva Piñata so much and would legit do anything to see it return. Nuts & Bolts wasn't even as bad as people made it out to be. They could've made it work if they had just combined the old and new gameplay styles together, but they missed the potential it had so much. Late 2000s Rare was my introduction to Rare and I wish things didn't end how it did. There's my TED Talk, goodnight everybody 👏

1. More Piñatas. 2. Weather and seasons mechanic. 3. Baby piñatas looking like actual baby piñatas. 4. Better AI behavior. 5. Bigger garden (this is a must). 6. Interactable decorations. 7. More multiplayer interaction. 8. More variations among piñatas species. 9. More minigames. 10. Or just throw all that away and made it a mobile version filled with microtransactions and ads.

Viva Pinata 3 Return to Paradise is LITERALLY WHAT I THOUGHT OF IN 2020!!!! Why is that the name everyone in the fandom wants for a new Viva Pinata game?!?! (Note that I no longer see much of a point in another VP sequel, but I still enjoy seeing what others who love this franchise can come up with)
@ewantu Жыл бұрын
You don't see the point in another VP sequel? Theres so many ways a new game could improve on the 360 originals, especially when it comes to the garden size and space. The first 2 VP games are so restrictive due to the limited hardware of the 360.

@@ewantu Even as a kid, the limitations in TiP annoyed the crap out of me. Mainly because it felt like they gave you so many new toys, decor, + the golfing stuff but you can’t really _DO_ anything with it because of the space limits. I could 100% see a comeback considering how much tech’s advanced + the popularity of games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. Viva Piñata was ahead of its time, honestly.

The second game garden is a different garden from the first one. You can tell by the landmarks surrounding it, actually worked it out that there's a mountain inbetween the two. Think this one was more developed, I think, because it was the one right next to pinata central so obviously can't have that one looking bad 😂

I had an Idea for a Viva Pinata 3 and 4 for years Viva Pinata 3: Candy corruption: Pester has come up with his Most devious plan Yet after 20 years of being MIA He has created super sour candy even more potent the regular sour candy and he uses it to corrupt certain Pinatas (Fudgehog Pretztail Horstachio Flapyak Jeli Elephinilla and a Dragonache) and its up to you to attract Pinata that are either the super sours predator or Rival the game introduces Boss fights that plays similar to Breakout. The new Freaky Pinata for this game is the Crisptyd (Crisp and Cryptid) Viva Pinata 4: Season of Sweets A new Myserious Island has Appeared and on this island new Pinata never before seen! Its called season of sweets because the entire Island are 4 massive bioms permanently stuck in a certain season and as such you get 4 brand new gardens plus you can go back to the original island and bring back the new ones

I was a bit disappointed, but still played that and continued to play the demo until my uncle finally took me to Gamestop. Thing was that by the time I got the first game, the second game had recently came out too, and that BLEW my mind when I left the Gamestop with BOTH in the bag that day. Man the excitement in my little 7 year old heart was bursting like crazy. Not only was I gonna get the full experience of the first game, but now I have an ENTIRE 2ND GAME I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT that I was going into completely BLIND! What I wouldn't do to go back and experience that entire era of getting them and playing through both of them fresh all over again like that. Viva Piñata was the peak of my childhood nostalgia. 😭

Some Pinata ideas for the animals you mentioned! Velipsyraptor (Velociraptor - Lipsy Candy) (Desert animal) Sour variant hunts your helpers. Feed them a Banana Split and a Moozipan to chill. Hunts a Cluckles and a Pig for romance. Sour variant resembles Jurassic Park version, Tame variant resembles accurate feathered version. Trigsearatops (Triceratops - Pigs ear) Herbivore, eats a new Prehistoric weed. Dress them up nice and feed them Prickly Pears and tulips for romance (cuz tulips need more utility) Persimophus (Parasaurolophus - Persimmon) Herbivore, wants Pinecones and many many flowers in your garden (since flowers were common during the cretaceous) Feed them Custaceans and five apples for romance (since we have a fossil of a Hadrosaur eating a crab, and they kinda look like horses so apples) Tea rex (T.rex - Tea/Boba Tea) Carnivore, needs to eat Persimophus and Trigsearatops for resident. If you want a sour, it needs to eat two Velipsyraptor for unsouring (cuz Jurassic Park) and fight a Stegourmet (cuz Fantasy) (doesn't matter if it wins there or not) For Romance, it needs to eat a Moozipan and a Bonboon. Stegourmet (Stegosaurus - Gourmet candy) Wants Pinecones and watercrest, because those kinda look old. Eats bananas and Monkey nuts for romance. A lower tier animal than the others, because not everything can be that huge, I'd wager. Chocodocus! Resident hybrid, and also stand-in for Diplodocus. Because you wanted Apatosaurus too and those would otherwise just be pretty similar. Apato Chip (Apatosaurus - Potato chip) Wants a Stegourmet resident and wants to eat a lot of fruit. For romance, you gotta let it destroy a tree and win a fight against a Tea rex. Pteranodum (Pteranodon - DumdumBrand Lollipops) o7 Newtgat is taking another one for the team. And so is Custacean, since they probably ate large shrimp too, like modern fish-eaters. And hell, throw in a Terrapin, they probably ate baby turtles. For romance, they eat a Salamango and a Pengum. Brach's O'Saurus (Brachiosaurus - Brach's) Okay but this animal was just barely kept out of Zoo Tycoon 2 for a reason so I'm not even gonna try to think of a way to make it work 😓 Mammoffee (Mammoth - Toffee) We probably have toffee already, but we have two things named after Marshmallows so whatever. Winter area local, lured by a snowdrop, want to eat Monkey Nuts and Carrots and Turnips and Pumpkins and Mushrooms. Want to eat a Dandelion and a Medicine for romance (because they often get sick in media) and need a certain amount of snow. Smilodrops (Smilodon - London drops) Winter area local, lured by Pepper. Sour, Sour! Smilodrops eats those Armadillo Pinatas and Camarillos, since it lived with both. Before it eats them, it pounces on your Pinatas, freezing them in shock. For romance, they will want a Mammoffee (as a friend, don't worry) and a Ponocky and a Chocstrich (as a food, do worry). Non-sour ones will want to eat a chilli pepper and a Pigxie. They have a rivalry with Roario. Dimetrodots (Dimetrodon - Dots candy) A desert Pinata. Lured by uh, I don't know. They are dated very far back in time, so almost all of their requirements are animals of really old lineages! For resident, they want to eat an Arocknid, a Smorepion, a Whirlm (which is basically bullying), a Sweetle and a Shellybean. For romance, they want to eat a Dragumfly and a Salamango. Styracha (Styracosaurus - Sriracha sauce; named for those pranks where you put hot sauce into a chocolate ball) Styracha is angry, and wants to eat Spicy food. You need to have the Redhott master romancer for them to appear, and well, obviously it will want to eat some of them. It also wants five peppers and two cheeses. For Romance, it wants NO Trigsearatops in the garden, and it wants to eat water crest seed (stand-in for horseradish), three radishes, and two peppers. No notes on the underwater garden Pinatas really, besides the fact that both Plesiosaurs and Trilobites are often depicted as crawling on land (despite them not really being able to irl) and thus potentially working out without the Underwater garden, as well. I decided against making a concept for Edmontosaurus because Parasaurolophus fits the "A Hadrosaur" role too :V But also shoutout on you having a very similar dinosaur roster to Wildlife Park 2's dino expansion lol

i just came here for a sudden nostalgia attack and stumbled upon this video and i love the ideas here. I had the same idea of an underwater garden a few years ago while playing trouble in paradise and while i think an underwater garden with fish piñatas would be enough to make a sequel, i think the dino piñatas are a good idea, as long as there are like, only three or four at most. I think the underwater garden could be the way to give more importance to the plot of the story in which you learn what happened to Leafos's family. I always wanted a sequel where you could de-sour Dastardos and turn him back into his former self, maybe even find out what happened to their mother who got lost at sea.

I’d also love captioning (for people who want to play with sound of or are deaf/HOH like me, since the sound cues are quite important to the gameplay) a flash effect off setting (for photosensitive people like myself) and for better piñata selection in this hypothetical 3rd game as even when my piñatas where at full happiness the Mothdrops and flutterscotches where so hard to get to romance, and so so slow

The best part about a sequel will honestly be that being made more more modern systems means garden space won't be much of an issue at all. They don't need to so severely limit how many objects there are.

I think a third VP game should just be more of the same but bigger. I think depth should be the biggest feature of gardening (like sand and ice were in VP:TIP) where you go underwater in your garden and you can raise the ground to make mountainous areas as well as caves. Mountains can have Llamas, goats, snow leopards, and tapirs while caves have bats, moles, and bears. With new consoles a bigger garden would be much easier. But it really should become extremely big. At least 8-10 times the final garden size of TIP. Instead of percentage of garden needed for requirements make them just a set amount. For example having 80 blocks of connected water for the Chippopotamus. Having a bigger play area can also make multiplayer a way better experience (especially with Stardew and Animal Crossing being huge. This would be a big selling point too). If you want to share a garden with 3 other players, everyone get's a quadrant and you can set permissions on your quadrant. I'd also personally like getting rid of Pester and the Ruffians and instead having every single pinata have a sour version. Giving a new gameplay avenue of having to tame sour pinatas so they stop showing up in your garden and getting awards for each species. You could also have a lore reason as to why the local pinatas are becoming sour. Sending them to parties was the main "story" of TIP as those were the main "missions". In this game it could be finding out why the pinatas are going sour and wanting to tame them all to help the people and pinatas. The sours wouldn't be needed to be tamed to get the pinata like the other games. But they'd show up alongside the regular version. That could even be a way to tame some. Like having a Sour Sarsgorilla fight a resident Sarsgorilla and win. I also think the interrupting of gameplay by visiting the shops could be changed now on modern consoles with it just being a menu that doesn't stop the clock (though that could be an option to turn on if you wish) and you can still see what's going on your garden while you shop. Especially because if the island/region is bigger, going to a town would be annoying. So it could be a online shop kind of experience where the people video chat you as you buy from them. The snow and desert biome are things they could expand on a lot. In VP:TIP they were just tiny flat gardens where a bunch of Pinatas would roam. In a sequel that could a much bigger biome area where you actually hunt down the Pinatas. For example maybe there's a jungle biome where Bonboons, Cinnamonkets, Parrybos all live and you can catch them there. It would be less passive than VP usually is and be more like Slime Rancher or Bugsnax where you learn where the Pinata dwells in the area and you have the tools to try to catch it yourself. The Pinatas having different ways of getting them. Some needing to be actively chased, some lured, some baited, etc. There could even be a fun thing where you hire Gretchum for a certain Pinata and you see her in that area and if you talk to her she'll have a funny line about getting your Pinata. With VP:TIP having 98 Pinatas, I'd want the third game to have 250-300 so having them all just around your garden would be odd. Having these biome areas I think would be really cool. The minigames could also be expanded. In VP:TIP you had races and beauty pageants. In the sequel I'd take what Party Animals was doing and actually having a full Kart Racer and collection of minigames to play with your pinatas. This could also be a fun thing to play with friends outside of the garden.

I do really like the idea of alot of Dinosaur Pinatas I really do; but I feel like 1. It shoulda start in a PVZ2 Jurassic Marsh esc area rather than the main garden if Professor Pester and the Pinatasaurs are to be there; as even in the original Viva Pinata; gretchem does say ("some actually hunted down a dr- no wait, that's a secret" ) implying that there are actually live dragons out there rather than some just some egg dug up in the mine, furthermore, who's the say this "Dragon" wasn't related in some way to the Pinatasaurs? #2 Naming any pinatas ( especially the dinosaurs for that matter ) after vegetables is a bad idea; Viva Pinata's pinata names are all about sweet foods; syrupent, doenut, taffly, sagorilla, bonboon, ellephanilla, dragonache; the list goes on for ages; and the closest we get to naming pinatas after vegetables if memory serves is naming them after sweet fruits (e.g Quackberry, Cherrapin ) you cross the vegetable line; and this might as well be Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2; I'd stick to naming the dinosaurs after really old candy and / or ancient fruits (e.g Pearasaur or Saporasaur, a Parasaur based off of Pears ( which were cultivated since prehistroic times ) and the extinct fruit Saportanthus from the Cretaceous period respectively)

I like the idea of having different gardens in the same save, but would also want those gardens to be bigger too. Both game's gardens are very limiting. I felt like I could barely get everything the way I want it a lot of times. Especially when you'd get THOSE kinds of Piñatas that require terraforming the entire garden to fit their needs to tame them. Stuff like that was an absolute nightmare. The Swanana I remember being especially frustrating because you were stuck dealing with the Sour Malowolf until you got the Pixie.
@GalaxyPolar2 жыл бұрын
They would definitely be able to pull off bigger and more complex gardens too, with having two generations of consoles more horsepower to work with than the originals had. TIP pushed the limits of the 360 apparently according to Rare. That's why they had to scrap concepts like the underwater Piñatas (and they even had ideas for animals like Kangaroos) because those scrapped concepts were just too ambitious and complicated for the system to handle and for them to be able to code within the confines of the 360. Its also why the space of the garden was so limited and why the things you could have in your garden was limited too. These limits were kinda similar to other things in the 360's life span. Like how mobs in Minecraft 360 Edition had to have a cap on them. The 360 just couldn't physically handle too many entities in one place in a game. Map sizes were also a big issue on the 360. Minecraft 360 also had a very small map size limit, and Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Zombie's Tranzit map was also a victim of this, and why that map was so bad because their ambitious ideas had to be butchered by the awful hardware limitations, ruining the gameplay with fog and lava and denizens so the player wouldn't crash the game by loading in the whole map too quickly. The Series X however would be far more capable with easily handling whatever ideas Rare would wanna bring to the table this time. So hopefully if they ever come back to VP, the scope of gameplay would be 10x larger. The game would last 2x as long as the others combined.
