Sundin played in a league where holding slashing hooking etc.. were the norm. The real question is.. did Sundin score in the playoffs?? Because Matthews has not been elite in the playoffs. I'm not a leafs fan so i don't know Sundin playoffs stats

You cant compare Sundin to Matthews like that. Matthews has 100 point players on his wing. With nylander and Marner at different times during the season. Sundin had wingers that wouldnt even crack 40 points. Ponik, antropov, blake would sometimes crack 40

I guess it depends for whom we are stating that it is a good season for. If we continue to let these core 4 off the hook every single season that they fail in the playoffs then a good season for Mitch is 40 goals. That’s good for him personally, but it means nothing to the rest of the city because for the rest of the city all that’s gonna matter is what happens in the playoffs . He could score 100 goals and still wouldn’t amount to a good season as far as those who are fed up are concerned

Toronto doesnt need another NHL team, put it in Hamilton, built an arena back in the 80's capable of housing an NHL team and got snubbed so teams could expand into markets down south that nobody wanted and failed.

Honestly, just start a goalie and ride them out until they lose or struggle then go to the back up. Ride Woll until he struggles then go to Stolarz/Murray and ride that out.. it's not rocket science..
