What would 'DEXTER: RESURRECTION' actually be about?

Honestly I still don't understand how a talented actor like Michael c hall is only playing dexter, I'm surprised marvel or dc hasn't hired him to play a supervillain, he can pull it off really well in my opinion 😂

He is a great actor but the prime of Dexter's success was season 4, and that was 10+ years ago. Hopefully now with the resurgence of the show, Michael will get his flowers. He is an incredible actor.

I thought about that. He’s played a lot of great roles and I have a feeling he’s been asked to do bigger things I just think he’s really picky about what jobs he takes. He could easily be headlining summer blockbusters and it’s maybe by choice that he’s not. I’m just guessing though because like you said he’s extremely talented and it seems like every director would want him in their cast. He’s done some great under the radar films but it would be nice to see him in something huge. Trouble With Bliss and Cold In July are some gems if you haven’t seen them

I wonder if Harrison or Dexter will have some hallucinations with Rita because after season 4 that always felt luke a missed opportunity for me.I don't know why but i always imagined what "the ghost" of Rita would say to Dexter after season 4.

Honestly the reason I believe it's gonna get more seasons, is really because of the insane promotion and advertising, that paramount plus and showtime are giving it, they literally made a KZbin channel for dexter It's obvious they are using dexter as their biggest IP for television, especially paramount plus, so there is no way it could be a limited series anymore, the same goes for original sin😂

I love Dexter as a show and interested to see what they may do (perhaps Dexter was one step ahead again and had both a bullet proof vest with a blood patch to flow out). But when I see them ask Michael and other shows as to why they being resurrected, I constantly think of the quote from Crusty the Clown “They dumped all this money in my yard! What was I supposed to do? Not take it?”.

@@peterosy i dont think Dexter would have a bullet proof vest or anything, he thought he was about to die in that moment. I do agree that Dexter deserves a better ending and tbf, i dont think Michael will do something solely for money BUT the ship may have sailed for a good endinf

While I'm very hesitant, I actually loved New Blood and as long as Clyde Phillips is the person running the show, I'm convinced it has the best opportunity to succeed.

i understand that the last theory makes the most sense out of what u said but i think it would be really boring. i struggle to see how him being on the run would be a classic Dexter storyline because it's not like he could leave a trail of bodies behind him. or maybe he quits his old ways and goes to work at a cinnabon who knows

Honestly, it's impossible to make a satisfying ending to this show. And whatever spin-off / continuation of New Blood doesn't make much sense either. If we accept that Dexter is dead, then the only sensible way forward would be having him as Harrison's "Dark Passenger". And say what you want about the kid and the actor playing him, it's just not interesting. We saw him reject the code, we saw him reject and kill Dexter, he's basically living outside of the system, I just can't see him as a worthy successor to Dexter Morgan. It made sense for Dexter to be a vigilante killer, because he had access to lab, he had access to cops and evidence locker, he knew how the system works. If we accept that Dexter survived then we're left with a whole lot of mess and out-of-character actions made in the finale of New Blood. The only sensible solution is one rejected by the writer/creator - Dexter should snap out of a trance in the cell thinking to himself "killing Logan is not going to help me... and it's against the code".

I personally think they are too far gone for a satisfying ending, they have travelled too far down the path they are on. They would have to un-canonise certain things that have happened, but this will never work from a story telling perspective

As someone who adored New Blood and even its ending, I’m not too pleased about this news. Although the only glimmer of hope is that there is more story to tell with for example Miami Metro so it probably shouldn’t seem milked

As much as I like Dexter, the show got to be a little stale by the end of New Blood; I hope the new Resurrection series can finally lay Dexter to rest, either by him getting caught and going to jail(my favored option) or simply dying for good.
