Tyrannosaurus rex is often portrayed in pop culture as a ferocious force of nature and a man eating killing machine. Today we flip the script and take a bite out of the king of dinosaurs! Find out if T. rex would have actually made for a dino-delicacy!

Why people can only compare to chicken or turkey when they heard that "this animal had feathers" or "This animal was related to birds"? Birds are extremly divese group of animals, they are more of them than poultry.

related animals tend to taste similar for example, alligators and turtles tastes a lot like chicken with minor differences. frogs taste like very tender reptile meat. I would imagine a T-rex be more like ostrich (a bird with red meat) with alligator-like texture

You probably do eat carnivores though - tuna, bass, octopus, squid, crustaceans, catfish, swordfish, grouper, and flatfish are all carnivores

Since T. rex meat would most likely not have tasted good and it wouldn’t be pleasant to eat, I think it’s better that we stick to chicken meat (avian dinosaur meat). I also find it interesting that every time I eat a chicken sandwich from a fast food restaurant, I can’t help but realize that I’m technically eating dinosaur meat.

If I recall correctly, one of the first things a scientist did at the excavation site of a frozen woolly mammoth was taste a chunk of the carcass. I guess along with seeing long dead animals, we're naturally inclined to eat them

Alligators have more fast twitch muscle fibers, meaning more white meat. The 'nasty' flavor is less prominent and more easily cooked off. A T. rex would have more more slow twitch muscle fibers, making it harder to remove the gamey taste.

I wouldn't recommend eating Halszkaraptor. Fish and other aquatic food gives an animal a nasty flavor. Hank Shaw from honest-food.net, however, says you can eat sea ducks if you choose and prepare them right. Now hadrosaurs, I imagine they tasted pretty good.

The part about carnivorous animals having a worse taste is mostly true, although alligators and crocodiles apparently taste quite good and are comparable to chicken in taste and texture (part of this is because farmed gators are fed chicken)
