This has to be one of the best TED Talks. No flashy animations. No buzzwords. Just a guy who loves bats being low key hella famous. I went to watch a motoGP race in Austin & was SO EXCITED because that's where the bat bridge is! We had fancy whiskey at the hotel nearby then hopped in kayaks to watch them come out after sunset. ❤ It was a great experience! 🎉 All thanks to this guy, Merlin Tuttle.

16:00] Incredible! These Austin bats went from 'public enemy' to a huge tourist attraction, bringing in $10 million and helping the ecosystem at the same time. Truly amazing conservation success!

I especially think ANYONE could benefit from “winning friends instead of BATtles” 😂 Seriously- look at all the good he has done for people and agriculture, etc . And it was by teaching or informing people instead of attacking them. I am very impressed with this humble man and the fact that he followed his interests his entire life!

Blind. As a bat. Bat ears. Sonar. 2013-2014. I was blind as a bat the whole damn time. Depended on vibes. And my ears. All over the worst parts of Chicago. Alone most of the time
